Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Well at least I was able to catch up on those 5 or 6 updates I hadn't read yet. Thank you for the chapter links too!

Such fun you guys had at the water park! I really want to do the mini golf on one of our next trips. Not sure we'd do the water park, I'm not big into it, but maybe the rest of the fam would.

OK now get back to work!

We had a great time at Blizzard Beach! I'm not a water/swim fan but I like a good water park. :thumbsup2

Imitation is said to be the biggest form of flattery?!?
(biggest not most sincere 'cause of where we were going)

In order to reach our dinner destination, we had to go back through the throngs of people but we made it! I checked us in and we were immediately directed to a line inside the restaurant. The man and woman in front of us were facetiming with what appeared to be a grandchild. I’m going to show my lack of the knowledge regarding technology here. They had some sort of pad type phone thingamagig and were showing the boy the surroundings. Oh I forgot to say where we were dining this evening. :rolleyes1 We were having dinner at T-Rex. Anyway, they were showing the big T-Rex just inside the entrance to the little boy and he was roaring back. It was so cute.

We were about three or four families deep in line and they called our name. We had to “excuse me” our way around them to get to our hostess. She led us to our table, all the while talking to me since I was in the lead. I’ve said this a thousand times....I know that it’s their job to be personable and all but you can not hear a dang thing that they are saying because 1) their back is usually to you; 2) meteor showers happen frequently causing loud banging noises; and, c) dinosaurs are having roaring fits all around you. (Yes, I did put in the c) on purpose. I watched Home Alone this weekend and I thought about the brother, Buzz, when I typed it.;)) As she was talking, I did what I always tell John not to do when he can’t hear what somebody is saying.... I nodded and smiled the whole time. The smiling part is okay to do but the nodding part could potentially get you in trouble ‘cause you don’t know exactly what you are nodding/agreeing to. :sad2:

We were seated in the area just to the left of the ice cave. I forget the name of that section but we were fine with it because during all of our prior trips, we have been seated in almost the same spot in the ice cave. Gave us something new to look at like this:

This was just behind us:

This pretty little lady was right beside our table:

Our server came to our table, took our drink orders and we took a couple of pictures while looking over the menus:

It didn’t take us very long to decide what we wanted and our server was quick to put in our orders. After a little while, our food was delivered to our table and it all looked delicious!

John ordered the Pork-asaurus Sandwich - smoke pulled pork simmered in BBQ sauce, served on a toasted bun with an onion ring and cole slaw:

Hunter ordered.... ya’ll ready for this?

It ain’t what you were thinking.... he ordered: Fire-Roasted Rotisserie Chicken - Half of a chicken, slow-roasted and served with your choice of two of the following sides: garlic mashed potatoes, waffle fries, Raptor rice, baked beans, cinnamon apples, cole slaw or roasted vegetables.

He chose a double order of waffle fries but they told him that the waffle fries were sweet potato fries and he wasn’t sure if he’d like them so he chose waffle fries and chips. Yeah, really ventured outside of his comfort zone foodwise. :rotfl:

I ordered the same thing that I order every single time we eat at T-Rex. Supersaurus Sampler - For an appetite as big as T-REX! Spinach and pepper jack queso with tortilla chips, Brachiosaurus Bruschetta, T-Rexadillas and Onion Rings, enough for four.

Just like always, John said that he’d help eat some of it and ended up eating just a couple of onion rings and half a rexadilla. I put a dent in the meal but certainly couldn’t finish it all by myself.

Throughout the meal, the yellow dino beside our table constantly moaned and groaned and the guys were doing their best imitations of her. They were hilarious and we laughed through the entire meal.

*continued in next post

It came time to order dessert and, again, Hunter really didn’t want anything but the waiter insisted that he have something since it was his birthday. He ended up ordering the Ice Age Indulgence - Layers of ice cream sandwiches, fudge sauce, whipped cream and Heath Bar Crunch

I have no clue why he ordered this since this is totally not something that he would have ordered. I’m thinking that I remember that he told the waiter “just surprise me” and this is what came out:

John ordered the same dessert:

I had no trouble deciding what to order. Meteor Bites for Two - Warm chocolate and vanilla donut holes with powdered sugar. Served with caramel and chocolate sauces.

I liked the chocolate bites but the vanilla were much better in my opinion.

John and Hunter continued with their dinosaur imitations and I took pictures of the various expressions:

I tried my hand at videoing them too but the timing was always off. I would tell them that I was going to start but they wouldn’t hear me (or were ignoring me) and it’d only get a half a second of video. :headache: This is the best that I was able to get:

Just as it had been in the past, dinner was great. T-Rex may not be for everybody but we really like it. We walked around in the store for a little bit and then went back out into the chaos that is known as the Downtown Disney walkways. This time, the walls took us right smack into the middle of the Lego Store entrance. I’m talking right into the area where the kids play and the front doors. It was so weird/odd/strange. The poor Lego store employees were obviously frustrated by the sheer number of people pouring through the store with absolutely no intention to buy anything. We stopped and looked at a few of the displays:

I’m not sure but this may have been the night that Hunter made the tiny little Lego figures of himself and his girlfriend. It was one of those buy one/get one for whatever specials.

Before leaving Downtown Disney, we popped into the World of Disney:

I told Hunter to pose for a picture for Kathy who we would be meeting up with soon. (FYI: I forgot to show it to her at the meet.):

It was getting a little late and we were ready to call it a day. There were castmembers at the bus stops making sure that everybody went to the correct stop for the various resorts. Some of the stops were for two different resorts and it was confusing.:confused3 I didn’t remember it ever being that way before but it was this evening. We waited about 15 minutes for a Caribbean Beach Bus and it was close to being full when we left the Downtown Disney area.

Back at the resort, we saw another mousekeeping cart sitting in the perfect position to sit the camera on and we took another family photo:

**Up next: He looks like he could use some ointment! Ouchy!

We loved T-Rex!!!! I love Hunter and John's dinosaur pics. They are so crazy.

That desert looks amazing. I'm totally getting that next time.

Wasn't DTD a hot mess? So hard to navigate. I hope it's better next year.

Love Hunter's hat pic too.

Your family pic turned out really nice!

I always love when you guys eat at T-Rex. I know its one of your favorites and a lot of the food looks really good. I have to say that those desserts look amazing!

Glad you guys had an enjoyable evening.

I love how a perfectly parked maid's cart made the best tripod for your family photo. Cute picture!

I really want to eat at TRex one day, it just never happens to work in my plans. The sampler looks soooo delicious and something I would definitely eat.

The guys are hilarious with their dinosaur imitations :lmao:

I am not looking forward to seeing DTD next month. :sad2:

An interesting look at TRex for sure. I'm still not sure we could ever enjoy it though. It just sounds like too much chaos.

Wonderful picture back at the resort.

I am drooling over John's pork sandwich (I only had a bowl of cereal for dinner tonight).

Hunter had what? :faint: I am totally in shock. And it looks really yummy (I wouldn't have liked the waffle fries because I don't like sweet potatoes).

Great pictures at dinner, and John and Hunter continue to crack me up.

I love the cute displays in the Lego Store,, but hate going in there.

Nice job on the hat, Hunter. Mark approves. :thumbsup2

Gotta love those mousekeeper carts...you got yet another great family picture.

We have never done TREX.. It is on the bucket list. Is it just like Rain forest? (food Wise)
I hope John did eat your onion rings the poor guy one got ONE DANG RING with his meal! :rotfl2:
Look at Hunter! the disney magic got him and ordered something different! Glad you have pictures of it! :thumbsup2

Ohhhhhhhh Those desserts look scrumptious!!!

HA! They Sang to him too? So fun!!! Love all the pictures of you guys! You are all so cute!!!

Oh I love T-Rex! We have only been once since it's been there but will be going back in June. We sat next to adorable baby Woolly Mammoths that I just had to kiss and pose with!

I also got the chicken Hunter got and I loved it. We were too full for dessert, but it is for sure on my list for next trip!

I just have to comment here. I LOVE your reports. You have a way with words my dear. Thanks for you hard work doing this!

The dessert was just as amazing as it looks in the picture. Maybe even better.

Yes Downtown Disney WAS a hot mess! I will be glad when some of those walls come down.

The food is always good and I have thought about leaving it out of our plans but it's one of our go to places.

The cart was in the perfect spot.

I waited a little too long to book our T-Rex ADR through the Disney site and had to call them directly to get a reservation. I'm glad that I did because everything was really good.

An interesting look at TRex for sure. I'm still not sure we could ever enjoy it though. It just sounds like too much chaos.

Wonderful picture back at the resort.

T-Rex is loud and a pretty hopping place at all times. Have you ever tried Rainfores Cafe? It's similar to T-Rex.

I am drooling over John's pork sandwich (I only had a bowl of cereal for dinner tonight).

Hunter had what? :faint: I am totally in shock. And it looks really yummy (I wouldn't have liked the waffle fries because I don't like sweet potatoes).

All you had was cereal? You poor thing!

Yep, Hunter had chicken! He actually likes a lot of meats but when there's pizza available almost 24/7, he eats as much as he can.

I wish that I had remembered to show you the hat picture when we met.

We have never done TREX.. It is on the bucket list. Is it just like Rain forest? (food Wise)

I bet your three kiddos would love T-Rex. It's loud, it has dinosaurs and meteor showers. Everything a kid could ask for.

Hunter will venture out of the pizza zone quite a lot if he wants to. But, like I said to Kathy above, if there's pizza available, he could eat it every single time.

T-Rex is on the restaurant list for next trip for us too. I tasted of Hunter's chicken and it was delicious!

Thank you! that's so sweet of you to say. I really enjoy writing and Disney so the two combined give me great joy.

::yes::

Sorry, what were you saying?

Hunter ordered...y'all ready for this?

I think you win the dessert round!

I told Hunter to pose for a picture for Kathy who we would be meeting up with soon. (FYI: I forgot to show it to her at the meet.):

Nice work! Definitely KatMark worthy.

YUM~ that food looks good! There is a recipe for that ice cream sandwich dessert that went around with my facebook friends a while back. Sure does look good. Don't know why I never made it. :confused3 Now it's famous...served on Disney property! :rotfl:

That hat photo of Hunter is hilarious!!!! :rotfl2:

Love the updates from the cutest family ever to have visited Disney :D I am so glad you posted those pictures from T Rex because now we are going to consider it for our trip next year. That sampler looks delicious and while I am no fan of sweet potatoes mashed I sure do like them fried ;)

The picture of Hunter with the hat is also priceless! Looking forward to more!

T-Rex looks like so much fun! I need to get there someday. I actually had it booked for next week but decided to cancel as I didn't want to be tied to an ADR on that day.

Oh my, that picture of Hunter with the Goofy hat made me :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

WE LOVE T-REX!!!! It is so delicious and you can't beat the atmosphere!

Great pic of ya'll back at resort! Great idea to put camera on a mousekeeping cart! LOL

You did not say chesticles. :rotfl2: :rotfl: Assuming the outside of the table was chairs I am wondering why the larger man didn't sit out there if getting to the bench side was so disruptive to others? Sorry your H&V experience wasn't good. We are actually thinking of trying breakfast here next trip because my 19 year old has a crush on Jake. Hope our experience is better than yours.

Loved hearing about your day at Blizzard Beach and I have to say I am super impressed with everything you guys accomplished....and not because it was that many slides (well it was) but more because of the amount of stairs/hill climbing I know you had to complete in order to ride all those slides.

Winter Summerland looks so cute!!! That is always on our "if we have time" list and we never make it. At least as we check off other items it moves up on the list and hopefully we will get there soon. Loved your hole in one picture.

We are one of those families that T-Rex isn't our thing (or at least my thing). Glad you all had fun.

Another great mousekeeping cart photo! Nice job.
