D23 2015

So will this be the last year for the Osborne lights? Seems the speculation will put SW land in the area of SOA. Any guesses what happen to the lights in the future

What was taken out of Hollywood studios? The animation building? Sounds Dangerous? american Idol? The hat?

Seriously. What has been really been taken out so far that Star Wars land and toy story land doesn't make up for?

It hasn't happened yet but it's likely that Lights Motor Actions and the Muppets will be history if some of the projected maps are accurate.

25th anniversary on the horizon, they're knee-deep in reimagining anyway so I guess that's the 'news' for them

Hmm but most of the confirmed stuff is just fixing things from many years ago that were never maintained. I wonder if DLP will at least get Star Tours 2.5 in the previously confirmed update, or if its still only going to be Star Tours 2.0?

Well the Muppets would be a loss but hasn't been updated in years and really, Lights, Motors Action does anyone actually care if that goes?

Granted I'm a Star Wars fan but I'll take those losses for 14 acres of highly themed new land and a couple of solid rides.

No mention of restaurants? DHS needs them desperately and I'd love to see them build a cantina.

Did they mention any dates for any of this?

No, in fact they went out if their way to avoid talking anything close to schedules. Educated guesses 2017-18 for Toy Story, 2020-2021 for Star Wars. 2017 and may slip into 2018 for Avatar

I don't really have any strong feelings for Lights Motor Action at all. I've seen it twice and have no desire to see it again. I get the nostalgia of the Muppets but that show must be nearly as old as I am. That entire area of the park is dead and I won't be too sorry to see it go.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan too but the Muppets could have been refurbished and One Mans Dream is a family favorite. Lights Motor Action was only OK to us but it did absorb a lot of people. I just hope that two attractions in the Star Wars area will be enough to absorb the crowds. Toy Story will help but it really sounds like it will be mostly for young kids. But we'll see.

Keep in mind that we've lost the backlot tour and another show (I forget the name). I know that Frozen is in one of the buildings that was empty but we avoid that. Also the Little Mermaid might be another one on the chopping block.

Now I'm starting to think, where in relation to the new area for Toy Story Land is Pizza Planet? Will they be closing that down?

Pizza Planet is light years away from where Toy Story Land looks to be going, so it wouldn't be surprising to see it closed. It's actually right there with Muppets, in the prime zone for Star Wars.

To be honest, they can do a lot better than Pizza Planet anyway -- the theme could have been better executed and the food could be better.

If I had to wager, it'd be 2.5 (or 2.1 really). Star Tours 2 was specifically designed for upgrades, so I'm sure they'll love to integrate Paris in.

Well I've never done One Man's Dream and the Backlot Tour was a bore. But that's just a matter of taste I suppose. DHS hasn't dropped anything I really care about. But some of this is still speculation. We don't know for sure if certain shows are actually being closed or moved or what.

I wouldn't call the announcements for DHS little, and I'm sure they're still holding a lot of things close to the vest.
Probably. I think its just me thinking the whole overhaul was being announced today. The best revelations (Mine Train, original Avatar announcement) came during other times. I'm probably like overreacting though. Thanks for trying to get me back to earth in all sincerity!

Can someone explain what Rivers of Light is?

Also what is tar Wars Launch Bay / Seasons of The Force?

Rivers of Light is the new night time show at AK -- music, lights, water. Seasons of the Force is a Star Wars themed fireworks show. Launch Bay is an interactive Star Wars exhibit/meet & greet (think Innoventions -- in fact, it's taking that spot at DL). Go here: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog
