How am I supposed to know what tampons to use if I want to do awesome active things like riding a water slide or playing volleyball???

I want to know which one I'm supposed to wear while curled in a fetal position on the couch in agony. That would be a truth in advertising ad.

It's not pretentious at all, but I really hate the We Buy Any Car ads with the dancers and that song. "We buy any car! ANY!! ANY!! ANY!! ANY!!"

Lol!! Hubby just leased a Lincoln (first we've ever had, wasn't even on our radar, but came to test drive it in a roundabout way and we both love it!)

Reactions were hilarious! My dad said "a Lincoln?! Yuck! I hate that ****** spokesman". My neighbor keeps texting him "alright, alright, alright" sporadically. I can't get the awesome SNL skit linked above out of my head - the booger-picker staring out the window. . .

I agree with a PP that the bikini girls trimming strategically placed bonsai trees tops even the drug commercials with unspeakable side effects or the 4-hour erection warnings for awkward and inappropriate!

I hate the Mucinex commercial-it grosses me out.

I am probably in the minority here, but I miss the commercials with the cheesy jingles of the 80's & 90's.

Oh, the commercial for hair removal where the women in bikinis are trimming bonsai bushes strategically placed to look like private areas.

I think advertising agencies should take into account that when you HATE the commercial, those feelings transfer to the product being sold. Every time that French Yoplait chick comes on, I change the channel (or mute it) as soon possible.
But the vague drug commercials for symptoms that I have no idea what they are, those frustrate me the most. They might as well be speaking Chinese!

the car ads that say they self park or break automatically. If you are that bad a driver maybe you shouldn't be driving at all.
My favorite of all time is the Babies skating/breakdancing to "Sugar Hill gang" for Avian Water.

Both my DIL & my DS's BFF had Lincolns, they were nothing but money pits. Transmission, brakes, recalls, only MM could afford one.

....well, I HALF agree with you. I've owned/leased Lincolns since 1991 and I LOVE them.....however, Matthew, not so much. I adored him in The Wedding Planner, but nothing since....he has certainly weirded out since then....BTW, those ads are nauseating to me too!

The ads I can't stand are about just about any prescription drugs. These ads always end up showing people doing all sorts of activities, loving life because of this great pill. After a list of benefits are verbalized along with images of health and vigor, then the voice over with the heavy side effects are read with at much lower volume and read much, much faster. It's always "Ask your doctor about this great drug, and see your doctor if you have symptoms that lead you to death's door for taking it".

OMG, as far as 'pretentious'...
I can handle the creepy, I am really a psycho stalker/killer, MM Lincoln commercials better than I can handle the VERY pretentious commercials for Biltmore Estate in Ashville, NC. (I live in the southeast, so we get these every year...) They are SO bad.

The side-by-side soaking tubs are just plain stupid, stupid, stupid.
But the commercials with the women who stare into the camera with a 'come take me now' look, while showing the bottom of their bare feet. (skank alert!_

That commercial is great! I love it and as Kathy Lee Gifford said to Hoda one morning, "Tend to your Gardens." I think I actually spit out my coffee when she said that!
