@BlueSkies ...Won't be long now for your trip. I leave on the 3rd with my 2 dd's for a cheer competition. No GF or BWI this trip but we really won't have much time to hang at the resort anyway. I'm definitely gonna try to stop at the BW one day just to hang out and maybe have a snack or two.:-)

Hi Mexi, we arrive at the GF on the 3rd also, staying through the 6th and then over to the AOA for a family suite for 5 days. Enjoy your trip!

Tom

Congrats..those deluxe rooms have a nice bit of extra space ( an extra TV and chair too)...and yes the "sofa" is actually a day bed.... All of the outer building are lovely...room recommendation would be based on what your preferences are...I personally would recommend Boca Chica simply because I like the location of that outer building...and the views of the courtyard and main building...there is a map on page one that would def help you with what you choices are...::yes::

Avery&Todd You are in for a treat...this is such a nice room category....and as others have said...all room with the exception of those on the top floor have balconies...and they all face the courtyard area with the exception of Sago Cay...which faces the marina...as is a bit further from the center of the resort..not my fave building...but def has it's fans around here... as I posted above..the map on page one wil lgive you a good idea of where each building is situated on the property... .BTW...love your ticker! Very grand!

Best of luck to you and speedy delivery! How nice that your older DD..big sis ..can look forward to introducing her baby sister to the world! :cutie:

:lovestruc

That very nice lady that sits in the lobby is named Lynne...and has been there for as long as I can remember...

Absolutely correct! :thumbsup2 and the second floor rooms do have a balcony...but its enclosed...not the standard railing...as its part of the portico...still very nice but different....

Wow pas that's quite a loooong day....You are gonna need a WDW vacation from working all of those hours...Disney logic my friend! ;)

:woohoo: Woot woot...the SINGLE digit dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll do it with you!!!! :dance3:

There are two views in SL...Pool/garden or marina...so it really just depends on your preference....rooms with lower numbers 01 to 11 (marina side)and 02 to 10 (pool side) are closer to the side exit thats nearest to the main buidling and Gasparillas...12/13 thru 22 are int he center of the building..over the open atrium and the elevator...and the higher numbers are 24/25 and up are closer to the boat dock..and over look more of the garden area than the pool...HTH and enjoy your GF stay! :goodvibes

I might kind of remeber hearing that song...somewhere...some time...?????????????:rolleyes1

You should be dancin yeah..............................:rainbow:

Welcome back grannyminnie :goodvibes

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a safe warm and magical Monday princess:
You have 2 tickers! Lucky lady

OK I finally sent my email to GF IPO with all of my information and also a few room requests. We have a standard room in the main building booked. I asked if all rooms had a daybed (CM said yes) and if all rooms had a full balcony (CM said she'd note that as a request because not all rooms have one). Also, the CM said even though I did online check-in, I wouldn't receive a text about my room until I've physically gone to GF and checked in. Is that correct? Hoping I don't have to also call IPO when I really don't have any major requests! But that sure doesn't sound accurate to me...

Oh, man! I would've been able to meet you, Tom...we were supposed to be at GF on the 5th, but sadly I'll be staying at a Hampton Inn in Jonesboro, AR with a volleyball team of 12 year olds...not exactly an upgrade:sad:!

When you arrive at GF you're escorted up to RPC desk to check in.

Lol, Pas, I've heard about you and that tendency to change resorts! :rotfl: I've been guilty of that once or twice myself! Sometimes we just can't find a discount for the GF, or have already been that year, so to save money, we book somewhere else. I usually cave tho, when it gets closer to time (once on checkin day itself! :lmao:). This time we stayed put at the Poly, but as I said, missed the GF the whole time.

Someone mentioned the new resort-specific merchandise there. There are nice things to choose from. I saw the pillow somebody mentioned (almost bought it), but got a pretty jacket with the GF logo. I think I remember seeing the Poly-themed merch too but didn't pay that much attention. I did buy a new watch at Uptown jewelers that I just love!! :goodvibes

We thought it strange that we didn't see Lynne each night sitting in her usual place in the GF lobby. :scratchin Only once, and even then didn't get to speak to her.

Aurora, congratulations in advance of your baby's birth!

Blue, you packed?? :cool1: Are you at the GF this trip? I haven't keep up on here as frequently to recall.

Tom, happy trip to you too. We stayed at the Art of Animation one night several trips ago. Little Mermaid. A charming resort, especially for families with small children I imagine.

Yes, and if your room is ready, they may take you to your room for check-in. We had that fun during our last two RPC stays.

That sounds kind of fun! Since it's our first stay at RPC, we wouldn't mind that. Now if it were BC or Poly CL's...well, we've stayed at those so many times that we just prefer getting our room number and that's it! I'm going to call IPO today to ask about the email yesterday. It really was one of the strangest emails I've ever received from IPO -- it didn't have a name at the bottom for signature, so I can't even refer to a name.

I have been to RPC and Sl a few times so I didn't mind if we just got a text with our room number. However what happened was a little "off".

We arrived via ME around 11am. We asked for an escort from the valet. He called for someone but a woman walked out of the lobby just as he was about to call. No wait there at least.

She said our room was ready and why didn't we just go there (ish- i cant remember what she said exactly/she wasn't rude just curious). They were showing that we were sent a room ready text but we didn't receive it. She walked us to our room for check in instead. We both tried our MB's and neither would work on the door. So we had to be escorted to Sl lobby desk.

Not kidding!! After 30 minutes they could not get Alyssa's mb to work:eek:. It took about 5 mins for mine. Finally i said we are going to MK and we will be back.Tried another 30 mins at 5pm UGH, grrrrrr. Disney should not punish the repeat customers.

In the end she brought 2 with her, pink never worked :confused3and the blue finally did:thumbsup2.

On a side note our AoA stay a few weeks ago we received a ready text while we were still on the plane!! They also send a link to a resort map :) The nerd I am I had the building layouts with room numbers with me too. It was so easy to run to our room, freshen up and head right to the parks!!!:cool1:

I have to say being escorted to the room is nice but going solo is kinda fun too. If you don't like your room just don't touch anything and go right to the desk for a change. I don't think youll need it tho. The only bad room is mine and Pas tree room deluxe king rpc 4201

Ha! Yes, I remember seeing pictures of that tree view! We are a family of 4 so can't possibly get that room :). In any event, I often wonder if the room ready text thing gets mixed up at CL's because of their different check in procedures. I read so much on these Boards about people at moderates and values getting their room text before they even get to Disney. Staying CL, people have vastly different experiences it seems.

Totally agree with this. On two occasions we received our room text after we were already in the room. Both times were at the BWI and after 4:00 in the afternoon for CL. I'm just not expecting any texts this time at either place, GF RPC or BWI CL.

I'm so excited about our GF stay I can't even stand it!! I have ALWAYS wanted to stay there but just didn't think it would work into our budget but DH had it in his head that he wanted a 2 BR villa for this trip for the "space" but I was NOT looking forward to the price tag of $11,500 :crazy2: with DxDP, hopper tickets for 2 adults, 16 & 14..ugh..and there were NO rooms under a discount AND DH is not comfortable renting points...and this room was more than our room at BC but waaaaaay less than a 2BR villa! :D

so, I looked for "larger options" and fell in LOVE with the deluxe rooms - and it gave us 3 "beds" and more space..:worship:

I don't know enough about the resort to have a favorite building but since we're coming in the first night as a room only before our package starts my only request is having the same room for all 7 nights...I'll walk farther if I have to!:teeth:

AND I am loving all the new GF merchandise they have in the stores on site - I read the article this morning..I feel a shopping spree is in my future - well, in June anyway!:love:

It has to be something with CL. Like they don't want you to sneak in...however I think Tgrlvspooh got one at SL last month (think)...at both BC CL, and GF-SL we did not get room ready texts at all. Our RPC room was not ready on arrival. Our OCI was was screwed up at both places too. Weird

Very sad dessert table in RPC. Food variety greatly reduced. 2nd new GM in less than a year. This may finally be it for us and CL. Have seen many ups snd downs but offerings were the most minimal I have ever seen.

Large florals are back though:rolleyes1

Staff was wonderful as usual. Will post more when I have more time.

Nuts are back on cheese tray only in RPC. Had friends in SL, offerings were slightly different.

In RPC Lots of cold soups, everything chicken fritters or skewers and chicken/Corn dog nuggets every night for kids hot option.

Thank you for your pics on the RPC offerings. My TA stayed at SL last week, and although she loved GF she said she won't do SL again. She did mention that the BC CL apps and desserts blew SL away. Shame that RPC is scaling back :/

And a ticker change,

Yep, so of course typing that I won't change is MY ultimate jinx....
And I changed to Poly CL :rolleyes1 If it were only me I doubt I would change, because I just love love love the Grand. However, DH  not so much, actually not at all. He was going along with all of us, but that ended. Everyone is pleased here at la casa de Pas. Except me and my little man, but we will enjoy our trip. There's a pool, wine, and a castle view so it's all good, right?
