Favorite Cozumel Excursions

Grabbing a taxi at the Port for 3 or 4 hours and touring the East side of the island stopping at Punta Sur and Coconuts (and anywhere else in between). Take the loop and end up in San Miguel for shopping. You just don't experience the true Cozumel unless you see the beauty of the East Side.

Has anyone done the ATV excursion in Cozumel? Is it in the Jungle and do you see any ruins?

We like Paradise Beach. You can catch a taxi and enjoy a shaded lounger. I'm not sure what the current prices are, but it was an inexpensive beach day compared to the Disney excursions offered.

I did a private dune buggy excursion a couple of years ago. They take you to a private resort to snorkel from the beach. I didn't actually snorkel. I suck at it but my friend did. She said it was awesome and our guide pointed out things to her and when she got tired, he pulled her around and brought back to shore.
We also saw some ruins, crocodiles, a lighthouse, a tequila place, and shopped. We had lunch at a place that overlooked the beach. It was the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. We had a little time to hang out there. There was only one other family on the beach. The driver also had a cooler of water and beer for us. It was a really good day!

Hello, our favorite was the jeep excursion. my daughter was 14,and still talks about how much fun it was. they take to a village, the beach with a great lunch and a wonderful drive. our guide was Jorge,he was awesome! he had water to soft drinks on ice in a cooler. we are going back to Cozumel in December and are going to do this excursion again. hope this helps,

How much does it cost to rent a taxi for this much time?

How much is this jeep excursion?

We find it negotiable. The last time we did it, it cost 90.00 for 4 hours. That was two years ago. The first time we did it, the cost was 100 so you just never know. We vacation there and have found to negotiate before getting in the cab every time.

I don't know what's up. I quoted the poster who asked me a question about grabbing a taxi and going around the island but it isn't showing up here. This message is for lbus42.

Thank you for the answer and for the tip to negotiate. $100 or so sounds very reasonable to do this.

Did you do this on your own or through DCL?

Hi, no problem. We did the excursion through DCL.I believe to do this excursion you have to be 8 and over. We left him a generous tip because he was one of the best guides we have had to date. Enjoy :o

Very interested in this thread! We returned from our cruise two weeks ago, and felt that we should have selected a different excursion. While the Mayan ruins and Discover Mexico Cultural Park were interesting to me and DH, our six year old son did not have a very good time, at all. Next year, we'll hit one of the beaches/ water parks.

What are your favorite excursions in Cozumel, and why?

Thanks in advance!:daisy:
My wife and I have no children and did the adult only Mayan ruins and Mexican Cultural Center tour. We loved it. It included lunch at the cultural center and our guide had Mayan ancestry. He was very passionate and funny. The tour will take up most of your day, so it may not be for you if you are wanting more time to shop near the dock. There were some souvenirs at the Cultural Center, but mostly jewelry. The plus side if you like jewelry is that it is made by the islanders.

Just off the Fantasy Saturday. We chose to go to Paradise Beach with 2 adults and two girls 10 and 12. Taxi was $20 (including tip) each way. Admission was $3 PP and an additional $18 for the fun pass for the beach inflatables which we got for the kids. We ended up using the pool most of they day. Food and beverage service all day. Lunch and nachos and several drinks was less than $80 for us all. I also negotiated a 30 minute massage for $30. We had a great day!
