59 days till Disney!!!
An Actual May Trip Update!!
Hi again everyone! It's been an eventful few days since I last updated. Before I get back to the mini Trip Report from December, it's time for a real update on exactly what the heck we'll be doing in just 59 days! I can't believe it's getting so close - it seems like every week just zooms by, and we're getting closer to Disney
On Thursday I was super excited because our Fastpass window was opening at midnight! That meant we needed to make some solid park plans, even though we'd mostly decided what we wanted to do. We ended up with this order:
Tuesday - Will and I will hit up Epcot probably, mom doesn't have a park ticket for this day.
Wednesday - Magic Kingdom!!
Thursday - Resort hopping and exploring - and probably a stop at the Magic Kingdom
Friday - Hollywood Studios all day! Gotta see Fantasmic I'm hoping they have the new Star Wars fireworks (or at least extend the current ones), but it's looking like we may miss that :/
Saturday - Epcot!
Sunday - More Magic Kingdom and a dessert party
Originally, we had thought we might do Epcot opening on the 19th because we're so close to the park. But with so much closed at Epcot right now, we figured one full day would probably be enough for us to hit up the major attractions. And Will and I kind of have an extra afternoon there since we'll be able to get down to Orlando hopefully around lunch time
So we had our park plans, we had called my mom to decide what rides we really wanted to try to get Fastpasses for, and it was almost midnight. I got the Disney website up and was all set to do all the fastpassing all ninja-like, and I made a huge mistake!
I forgot that mom had to have park tickets before I could make any of her fastpasses
Of course, it was now midnight Eastern and, even though my mom is an hour behind us she doesn't usually stay up till 11 most nights. So I was freaking out a little and really frustrated at myself! We have had Annual Passes for the last few months, and for our honeymoon and our trip a few years ago Will's parents had bought our tickets really far out so we'd already had everything linked up. I was really worried that we'd have to wait for Disney to mail tickets to mom. Then we probably wouldn't get the Mine Train fastpasses I wanted and would have to gamble on some of our good times! Needless to say, I was freaking. out.
I think that's part of the stress of planning for/with other family members. I know that my mom just wants to be at Disney with us. She would probably be fine if we didn't ride the Mine Train or whatever. But I want this to be a super awesome trip!
We couldn't do anything that night, so I went to bed and got up early the next morning to do some sleuthing. I found out that many people had copied fastpasses from one person to another person in their group with success, so that gave me some hope. I figured even if it did take a long time to get mom's ticket, we could make our fastpasses and try to copy them. At worst, we'd cancel everything and start over. I figured even if we didn't get the prime rides, we'd still be at Disney (which is the fun part anyway)! And I am perfectly willing to stalk the app to get stuff later.
After some quick texting back and forth (and more research), I also found out that if mom bought her ticket online it should be able to link right to her account immediately! Thank goodness! This was such a huge relief, but I was still worried that it wouldn't work and we'd be out of luck. Thankfully, she had brought her computer with her on a visit to my grandfather (totally fate - she doesn't usually). She bought her ticket last night, it was linked up immediately (!), and I got to copying all of our fastpasses to her account.
I am so happy to say this worked perfectly! Now I don't know how it would have worked if we had needed to wait for a mailed ticket. I think that might have been more difficult, but I've heard of it happening. I double and triple checked everything to make sure it was correct, and we all had awesome fastpasses
So after all that drama, here's what we've got:
Tuesday:
Spaceship Earth - 2:10
Living With the Land - 3:25
Journey Into Imagination - 4:25
Wednesday:
Mine Train - 9:10
Peter Pan - 10:25
Splash Mountain - 12:55
Thursday:
Mine Train - 3:00
Big Thunder Mountain - 4:25
Winnie the Pooh (yay!) - 5:25
Friday:
Tower of Terror - 9:30
Toy Story - 10:30
Star Tours - 11:30
(planning to rope drop Rockin' Roller Coaster)
Saturday:
Test Track - 9:10
Spaceship Earth - 10:20
Nemo -11:20
Sunday:
Jungle Cruise - 1:00
Space Mountain -3:40
Splash Mountain - 4:45
I'm SO EXCITED!! Now of course there is more hurry up and wait But we've got 30 days until I can make our Be Our Guest order, and I've obviously got to figure out what snacks and food I want to try this trip
So there's more to plan I'm also hoping our Beach Club waitlist comes through, but I have my doubts that it will - but being able to swim in the pool would be so fun!
And our next update will be back to the non-PTR portion of this report - more Christmas at Disney
