2016 Free Dining Watch ~ Part 2

Does anyone have any thoughts on a situation where we already bought 5 day tickets pre-2016 increased prices from UT, and now we have another set of 5 day tickets as part of FD package. If I return them to UT, I have pay about $90 'return fee', which I'd prefer to avoid..any suggestions? Thanks!

What time did all this actually go live? I woke up at 2:10 MDT without an alarm, decided to check since I was awake anyway, and there it was. I was able to book our first choice which was POP Standard with a RO discount at the end of October and just completed all my ADRs even though no FD for us.

Did everyone else get what they were hoping for?

I have been trying for almost three hours and can't get through. I ended up booking a new Reservation online but am nervous that my existing dining reservations won't carry over. Anyone ever done that?

They will they aren't linked to your room reservation, I booked a new reservation this morning and canceled my original and all my ADRs are still there

I also used the 407939-4357 and got right though and it was probably the nicest CM I've ever talked to. Also, there are indeed different avail. for visa card holders!

I love reading all the comments on the Disney Dining Facebook page... so many negative nancy's saying "don't you people know it's a scam and you aren't saving anything?" Fools I say. They are missing out! lol

I HATE that argument!! With a family of 4 in a value or moderate there is NO WAY a room discount is coming anywhere near free food for an entire family for a week. We splurged this year, and didn't do FD, but even with an almost 50%discount, it's not better than FD. But hey, let them think they are doing better. I know when we stay moderate, we spend more in food per day then for our room, so unless there is a 100% room discount out there, it's not going to touch free dining savings.

YES!!! My 8y.o. Is showing up as "10 and older". I'm not too worried about it though. Will call in a few days and make sure I wasn't overcharged.

On the other hand. If it stays as 10yrs+, maybe she'll be able to order from adult menu at TS meals. (She's only 8 but already has acquired a taste for expensive food)

Thanks! It doesn't look like I was charged for an adult ticket, which is good. Hopefully, it won't interfere with anything else!

I think your options are
1) Save the UC 5 day tix for another trip
2) Return the UC 5 day tix and eat the $90
3) Downgrade your tix in the Free Dining package to 2 Day tix and save those for another trip (which would save a little cash now but could cause frustrations later)

Great advice, thanks...Re: option #3, I wonder how I get Disney to prioritize my UT tickets and leave the 2-day tickets in the package for future trip?

omg! I cannot book any dining reservations at all online and when I call I get fast busy signal.
How could all they all book up so fast

They've been booked up for a long time, with people speculating on FD. It's a double edged knife...you're so happy that you got FD, but then realize that nowhere you want to eat has reservations available due to others getting FD.
