Worst movie EVER!

Not when Birdemic, Samuri Cop, Battlefield Earth, Gigli, The Room, Manos: The Hands of Fate, The Conqueror, etc. exist.

I can understand not liking a movie, but worst movie EVER?

It's all about expectations. Nobody expects Sharknado 3 to be anything more than awful. But, when an Oscar-nominated film is so bad you'd rather gargle razor blades than finish it, that is harder to accept.

Side note, I love the Seinfeld episode where Elaine is dragged (twice) to see The English Patient and hates it even more the 2nd time LOL

The Wolf of Wall Street, Borat, Howard the Duck, Xanadu...

And several really stupid unfunny comedies I've forgotten the names of, that starred Adam Sandler, David Spade or Rob Schneider.

And in the category of things parents suffer through for their kids: The Yugioh Movie.

Natural Born Killers
Eyes Wide Shut
Blair Witch Project
ALL of the Twilight movies...I mean, seriously, can we make vampires any less scary and boring?!?! "Look, Mom! I sparkle in the sunlight!" :rolleyes2 I resisted seeing those for the longest until a friend finally convinced me to watch with her. Somehow we managed to stay friends...

Honorable mentions:
Vanilla Sky
The Last Samurai

Avatar - hated it and the 3D made me want to vomit.
Green Card -walked out and spent the last half of the movie smoking in the bathroom and chatting to one of the staff.
Dances with Wolves - ugh, just ugh.

I also fell asleep during Chariots of Fire but to be fair I was only 9 at the time. Dishonourable mention to Matrix...I lasted until the last 10 minutes when I just could not watch anymore.

Fried Green Tomatoes. I know some of you guys liked but I am sorry was so relieved when old lady past cause I figured movie was going to end.
Still can't forgive Fannie lag even if she was my favorite password player.

Ha! I love Fried Green Tomatoes. ;)

Grease 2 was just awful. I did watch the whole thing because my oldest daughter enjoyed it (the suggestive stuff went way over her head), but I was groaning inside the entire time.
Along the same vein of going to the well too many times, anybody remember the movie about the same time with Peter Frampton, the Bee Gees, Aerosmith, even Steve Martin? I forget what it was called, but it was Beatles based and definitely another "cinematic masterpiece" worth contending for the prize of worst.

On a similar note, I've always hated Pretty Woman. I found the whole premise of "Be a sex worker, and get swept off of your feet by a handsome rich guy!" mindbogglingly horrific.

Well, I guess if you put it that way. LOL!

Oh yeah. It was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. I loved Peter Frampton but that was such a cheesy movie.

Ah, of course, how could I forget that, they even wore the uniforms.

Another occurred to me, anybody catch the last Clooney movie, Hail Caesar? Spoiler, you sit there thinking, it's coming up next, we're getting there -- wait, the movie's over? I'd love to know if what was released was the original plan, or if big chunks remain on the cutting room floor.

My heart hurts for you both.

I'm not sure what is boring about The Color Purple. It's incredibly moving and wrought with so much emotion. IDK, I don't get how anyone can actually say that it's the worst movie of all time.

Oh no! You've MISUNDERSTOOD me! It's my favorite movie of all time. I was asking the other person why she didn't care for it. I've got the movie script, soundtrack, several DVD's of the movie and have been to the site where the movie was made. I actually used some of your words before you did...it moved me.

ETA: Forgot...have the book, too.

I was so mad at Twilight. I heard it was so bad it was funny. I can deal with those kind of movies. It was so bad it was just painful.

Rocky Horror Picture Show. Hate it. I love going to midnight movies and cult classics, but not this one. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.
