Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I am now planning which room request to make for our August trip. We are booked at BC standard view. I read this thread, the Beach Club Room View thread, the Touring Blog and some more.

Here is what we wrote on our original reservation:
Room Preference: In that order of priority 1) with full Balconie and a nicish view
2) close to Lobby and 3) with a Day Bed

When doing online booking, the only option I could really check is Large Balconie. I was wondering if I should check Ground Floor as well even though there are only Garden View there? Some of the standard views look really bad, any strategies to avoid looking at a huge rooftop? Asking SW facing? Not asking anything and doing our checkin when we arrive?

I would skip the room request section during Online Check In. What you have listed on your reservation is perfect.

We'll be booking a "magical deal" at the BC for 9/3-9/5. Then we move on to the GF for 6 nights.

We won't have park tickets our first 2 days. Is there enough to keep us busy for 2 days?

Definitely! We've had two 7 night resort only stays and never felt bored.

But if you get antsy, you can activate the tickets attached to your package up to 10 days early.

How do we activate them? Just use them to enter the park?
We have 14 days to use them once we activate them, correct?

We'll be arriving at the BC around noon, do we have a good chance of our room being ready? We're not making any room requests.

If you do online check in and list your expected arrival time then I think that will improve your chances of having a room ready when you arrive. We usually arrive around 11am and our room has been ready when we have arrived about 80% of the time. :)

I did online check in requested early room since traveling with my dad. My room was available at 4pm.

That's not good. :(
Were you staying in the villas building? That check in time is 4pm.

We usually book a garden/woods view room and that category has the most rooms in it. Or maybe we just get lucky. ;)

We usually arrive around 10 and our room is seldom ready when we arrive. One out of 12 stays, maybe.
It is possible, but not likely, in my experience. So you can see, two vastly different experiences. We do online check in too, and indicate what time we will be arriving. I think time of year makes a difference as well.
My best advice is: Don't Plan On It. If it is you will be pleasantly surprised
Good Luck

What room category do you usually book? I'm curious to find out whether a garden room reservation is more likely to be ready early than a category with far less inventory.

Thanks. :)

No just a regular standard room. I did a split stay from Pop to here. went to a park in the morning was hoping to get my dad into a nap around 1.
got to the beach club later- closer to 3 and they said it wasn't ready yet. An hour later-- it was
I was ready to take any ole room

Standard rooms have the smallest inventory, so that could explain why you didn't get to check in early. But 4pm was really late.

So, thinking the amazon v. garden grocer through. I know it was posted many pages back...how much is a case of water at Marketplace? Any idea on size/quantity?

Thank you

Dee,
Finally finalized our dates! Back with the fam to our home away from home BCV 6/7-6/18.:banana::banana: Looking forward to spending some quality time with DD who will be home from her freshman year in college and DH.

We have stayed so many times and have so many pics from our rooms but with the exception of one or two, I have no idea what the room number was  (for example my avatar pic) but I will try to do better this time :upsidedow.

I keep seeing people hoping for "new" rooms. Honestly for us, we don't really care as long as we can get a large balcony overlooking the pool. Unfortunately we won't be arriving until early evening and in our experience we usually end up with the least desirable views when we arrive late and with such limited inventory and high occupancy in the villas switching is usually not an option. We thought about staying elsewhere on arrival night but figured a less desirable view at our happy place is better than a good view anywhere else. ::yes::

Hubby and I just got back from a trip to the world earlier this month where we split stayed SSR, VGF and Poly (last minute trip and couldn't get into BCV). I had lots of thoughts, observations and reviews and wondered where best to post. :disrocks:
