September 23-30, 2017 Disney Fantasy: Tortola/St.Thomas/CC

Have a weird question....how dressy is formal night? Have a couple of dresses I would easily wear to a wedding or fancy dinner out.....but not sure if I need to find a brides maids/prom type dress

You see everything from really fancy dresses and men in tuxedos all the way down to people in shorts and a tee shirt. Its as fancy and formal as you want to be and are comfortable with. Ive always just won a navy blazer, bow tie and seersucker or khaki pants. Thinking about bring a tuxedo this time though!

Thanks! The less "additional outfits I have to buy" the more we can do. And that's the important part to me

Hello! Booked our cruise last week. Traveling with me will be my husband and daughter who will be 2 when we cruise. The only cruise we have done before was the Disney Fantasy in September 2012 for our honeymoon. It was Western Caribbean so excited to try the Eastern this time.

I believe formal nights are no longer true formal nights... the only place you need to dress up and follow dress code is Palos and Remy. For our 2 previous cruises I wore a suit and tie, and just changed out my dress shirt and tie for foral night, and palo dinner . My wife brought two nice dresses. They were made of a light fabric and didn't take up much room. Packing light is always a good idea...

On our first cruise I actually packed dress shirts for dinner, and realized it was not necessary..On our last cruise, the 14 nt EBPC, except for our Palos dinner and formal night I wore jeans and a dryfit polo shirt to dinner every night, and that was dressed,up compared to a lot of people.

Is it too early to start a FE group for our cruise? I have never done one so don't know how far out they normally start. I know I am definitely interested in participating in one though.

Thanks so much. Since we've never been on a cruise, don't want to be over/under dressed.

Hey everyone!!!!!!
We just stepped foot off of our 2nd cruise (we have been on the Wonder and the Dream) and booked this one before we got off. I'll be traveling with my husband and two daughters who will be 8 and 6 by then. I will also be celebrating my 35th birthday onboard.
We are super excited to take the 7 night cruise and can't wait to set up the fish extender group. We had a great group on this cruise and we even met up for pictures.
Hope you are all as ready as we are. Only 445 days to go.

I try to pack as lite as I can. I bring a pair of dress shoes that will work with all my dinner outfits and jackets/shawls that will go with them too. The less I have to lug around the better.

Welcome!

Please feel free to share info or even start a FE group. I'm not the greatest in tracking down and sharing information so I'm more then happy to have anyone who'd like to do so, do so.

Thank you! Our first FE group experience will be during or upcoming cruise (in 7 weeks). I've never participated or organized one. The FE group for our Sept cruise is actually a Candy and Treat Exchange instead of gifts. The organizer has done this before and says it is nice. Everyone brings a treat or candy that is from their local area or state. It sounds like fun. I'll be able to provide more info on that as soon as I get back from the cruise.

We're cruise virgins but as long as you're willing to answer questions and help us out, we're in.

So, does anyone have any experience with Tortola Excursions or non-excursion experiences on the island?

Has anyone done the brunch at Palo? We are thinking about trying to get a reservation but wonder if it's worth it? Also what about the Spa....any users out there?

We did Remy brunch last September (Dream) and have done Palo brunch years ago (which I can't remember details). We have reservations for Palo brunch in 46 days (Dream). Remy is a sit down affair with table service. Palo brunch is buffet style and less formal. Both are good, Remy is $55 PP and Palo is $30 PP. Our spa visits have been limited to massages and Rainforest only. Not worth the money for us.
