"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I won't go to this party again unless they close the park at 6:30 to clear out non-party guests. Saw many watching parades and shows for free and felt that they don't clear out the guests soon enough to start enjoying the party at 7. The cast members try and get people to leave but they just sit there or keep walking. It was my third time and last, not worth the $200 I paid. :sad2:

Hi!

So excited to be going to my first MVCP next month! Wondering if the hours the characters appear until are posted somewhere? Are they all the same? Or do different characters appear at different times?

Thanks!

I really hope that Sandy Claws coming out late was a one time thing. Having some of the very popular characters start early was a decent compensation for eliminating more and more characters from the party each year. Characters seekers don't have as many characters as in earlier years, so all the remaining characters' lines are longer. If these popular characters don't start before 7, that really cuts down on the characters you can meet if you have to spend 1 and a half hours during party time for just one character.
I've read 7 for every party so far. Really hope they change this.

We are planning on attending the 12/6 party! It's our first party and an absolute must for us is to have a great spot for the fireworks. We've actually never attended any fireworks shows at disney so I am not sure how far in advance we should stake out a good spot? Any tips would be most appreciated!

At the Halloween party, we were able to get a spot in the plaza gardens about 30 minutes prior. This is the area previously used for FP+ and I don't think a lot of people realize it's now open to anyone. It's a great view from there as well; we always watch fireworks from the spot.

Is this area reserved for those at the dessert party?

Thoughts on my initial plan? My goals are to get off of Main St and focus on rides, especially in Adventureland until festivities begin. Shows, treats and atmosphere are the main focus after 7pm. I need time to grab a pin or shirt. I'll be on my own, so I'm hoping to navigate bottlenecks and find viewing spots last minute fairly easily. I'm okay with partially obstructed views or catching only a portion of shows, esp Mickey's Most Merriest. Willing to drop rides on the fly if I'm falling behind.

Arrive at security by 3:30.

I know this is HS and not the actual MVMCP, but has anyone read reviews on Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam! We were planning on leaving the park around 8pm to get a good night's sleep for an early morning. Now I'm wondering if it would be worth it to stay up and see this show, since it will be at 9pm on our HS day.

Will Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam be at 9 PM...I can only find park hours saying they close at 7 PM :confused3...can you direct me to an updated schedule? Enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2 :tink:

The show time depends which month/day you are looking to attend. I think the calendar on Disneyworld.com may be your best bet for checking the timings for your chosen date.

I think it's earlier most nights, but for some reason it's 9pm on on a couple random days. It just so happens to be at 9pm on our HS, and I'm kinda bummed about that. I'm wondering if they're extending the hours because it'll be busier that day? 11/16. I can't change our dates because of ADRs. Oh well!

This may be a silly question. But what do you do while you wait in line for 45+ minutes? Do you sit on the floor and standing the whole time? My DH and DS (10) will be with me so I figure one of us will take DS around to keep him company (i.e. walk around gift shop or get some snack to eat). I read somewhere that someone brought a vinyl table cover as floor mat to sit on the ground in case it's wet from rain. Any other tips?
Cut the vinyl tablecloth into bottom sized pieces. Easier to carry and everyone has their own seat!

Love watching everyone talking about their time at the party - makes me antsy to get back!

If anyone that is going to the party doesn't want the Goofy Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card they are giving away would someone be willing to pick one up for me I can arrange sending you what's needed for postage! TIA
You know last year I didn't get any of my cards. Can you tell me where to pick one up?
TIA
