"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I'm seeing a 91% chance of rain on our party night... I know it's a week away, but I'm still trying to plan for it, just in case.
If it looks like it's going to rain or storm and we decide to just skip the party, is there anyway to get a refund if we go to Guest Services before the party starts?
If we do decide to chance it, how bad does it have to be before they start cancelling the parades, fireworks, and stage shows...?
Thanks!

I don't think you'll have much success getting a refund prior, but refunds have absolutely been issued after parties that had bad weather, especially when the parade/fireworks ended up being cancelled.

You won't get a refund before, and the party will go on barring an actual hurricane. My recollection from reports in years past is that they give refunds inside the park at Guest Services if the party is an epic fail with lots of show cancellations and ride shutdowns.

We attended a party last year where it rained and we were able to get party tickets for a date later in our trip from guest services. If you want to do that I would say to go early and make sure your entire party is with you. The line gets long and they will need everyone's band for that night's party turned in. Also, the people asking for a refund had a harder time getting money back but it was fairly easy to exchange our current tickets for the later party.

I did not try to do this at the party, but I have been known to do it when my kids weren't traveling with me with mixed results. I try to be unobtrusive, and not get kids in my shot. I have never had a CM reprimand me. I'm sure it happens. Of course, if you are trying to get the character's attention and interact, then you should be called out.

Thanks all for the advise. I would not be trying to interact - just snap a quick pic in the holiday outfits. I may take the telephoto lens and stand further back if I can.

We're going on the 6th. I held off on buying tickets to watch the weather. I caved in a week or so ago so I could get fastpasses. Now it's showing 80% chance of rain and it's the last day of our trip so it won't help if they offer tickets for another night.

There is one good thing to rain at a mvmcp. So long as there is no lightning, last year Minnie, Daisy, donald, scrooge and Santa goofy all sheltered under the train station at storybook circus. It made for a great picture with all of them together.

I have 2 favors to ask, if a fellow Dis member can help out. First, we went to MVMCP on 11/10 (wrote a post about it back then). DS' highlight was meeting Scrooge McDuck with Donald Duck, since he had become obsessed with Ducktales. He's almost 8, and we don't do a whole lot of M+Gs or signatures, so the ones that he wanted we got on 5x7 photo mattes or blank character cards from the hotel. (Those are those cards that have the sleeve inside to put a 5x7 picture. Usually have a picture of Mickey and Minnie in them with a message.) Since we've been home, I haven't been able to find that particular card we got signed. Would anybody who's going to a party be able to get one signed for us. I could either mail you a photo matte or if you're staying on property, you could ask for a blank character card from the front desk.

My second request is also a big one. When I was at the party, I didn't remember to buy a MVMCP ornament, and they only sell them during the party. I could Paypal someone the money to buy it for me. I know a lot of the stores will also ship it to a home address for a fee, which would be most ideal since then this would involve very little work on your part.

I know it's a lot to ask. My camera didn't make it home with me (another post I wrote) and now I think I'm just trying to overcompensate with other Disney stuff lol. Thank you to anyone who can help with any part of this. You can message me

I'd be willing to get a MVMCP ornament. Are there several options or just 1 style? But I am not going to the party until the 18th and won't be back from my trip until the 23rd so I won't be able to get it to your by Christmas this year. But I would still be willing to get one and send it to your if no one can get you one before then.

That would be pretty awesome! As far as I saw online, there's only one official MVMCP 2016 ornament. It's sold in Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. (Being that the only other M+G we did was Jack Skellington, I should have had plenty of visual reminders to get this thing lol.) I *think* they would ship it to me for a cost. I'm just not sure of the cost of the ornament itself. I haven't found that online.

Our family of 4 went to the MVMCP in November of 2014. It was one of the first parties that year and it was sold out. We found a spot on the curb an hour prior to the parade and that was amazing! The fireworks were also the best ever. We didn't get to experience the short waits for rides as they were actually quite lengthy for what we expected and we didn't get to meet many of the special characters you usually don't get to meet. We are going next week and hoping to give this a try again. Thank you for the maps and advice!

HELP!

We procrastinated in buying our MVMCP tickets and now it's sold out! Anyone have any tips on how I can get 2 tickets for 12/18!!! I know it's a long shot! Just thought I would ask!

Ok guys, struggling with our plans and need some advice! We are going on the 18, so know we are dealing with a sell out. Our 2 priority meets are Nick & Judy and Scrooge/Donald. Also want to see the parade (likely 2nd) and fireworks.

Option 1 is to line up for Nick & Judy at 5 then either head to the ducks (how bad will that wait be around 7?) or hit the ducks after the fireworks, with hopefully a shorter line? My biggest issue here is when/where to do dinner....I have a 6:40 ADR booked, but I hate wasting party time eating! But I will have 2 kids with me that will need to eat :)

Option 2 is a 4:40 ADR, then get in line for the ducks (by 6:15/6:30). Then plan to hit up Nick & Judy during the first parade, with hopefully a shorter line? But I'm worried about their line staying long all night? At least if we get in line at 5, we aren't losing party time waiting?

Thoughts? Opinions? Best way to accomplish this and still fit in dinner....and also not waste too much party time?

When Frozen first came out and we waited 3+ hours for Anna and Elsa (LOL), we got quick service from China and ate it in line at Norway. If you don't mind eating quick service I'm sure you could grab casey's, cosmic rays, etc and eat in line. Just an idea!

Thanks, I've actually considered this! My kids probably wouldn't mind, it's more ME that's against it! Lol!

Can you maybe have an early lunch, then eat dinner around 4 at a counter service? If you get hungry later you can snack on the cookies.

I like option 1 because it is more of a sure thing. There have been reports of Nick and Judy's line being shorter late at night...but it is not a guarantee.

I'm actually not sure...I take it Nick and Judy come out at 7? Or was it a bit before? If it is a little before, I don't think the ducks line really starts to pick up until about 20 til 7. Even then...I feel you'd be done before 8 even if you can't get into the ducks line before 7.

Has anyone tried to buy Memory Maker at Guest Services? Are they offering one just for the party instead of the one day MM?
