2017 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Congrats to the 10K runners and best to those running the half tomorrow! Illness and unexpected circumstances at home had me leaving for the the airport instead of in my corral! I'm so sad this was the fate of my first run Disney challenge but health is first! Best to you all!
Sorry to hear this! Was really nice to meet you yesterday. I hope you have a safe flight home and that everything is okay. :(

It was great meeting you too! I'm glad I'm home. Being sick and alone is no fun....throw in no sleep and anxiety, horrifying! Certainly not how I hoped the weekend would go.

Hope everyone had a great morning!!!!

There were corral jumpers this morning. A woman and her two sons with N bibs made their way to corral G and were trying to get to F. We called them out on it and she shushed us!!!! We didn't let it go and they took off to another part of the corral.

Ran with the Galloway pace group with 1min/30sec intervals with a finish time of 2:29. I fell behind, but I somehow caught up and finished 28 seconds after them! I almost burst into tears when I crossed the finish line. I had a goal to finish in less than 2:45 and I crushed it. This has been the best 40th birthday!

Well I am showered and laying in my bed. I did not take my iPhone.
I saw the two hour pacer in corral C and he said he was running two minutes and walking 30seconds. I chatted up a couple of girls. One girl that ran with the two hour cliff pacer last year like me. He also said there was a two hour pacer in corral D. I fell behind around mile 3 but another girl did too so we ran together and she was doing 2 min run and 30 second walk. Just not as fast as the pacer. It was fun and chatting made the miles go by. Finished with a 2.08 which is good as my training was more like a 10 mm. I thought the weather was great and loved the cool breezes. Hope everyone else made happy memories.

Super Congrats! That's awesome, and Happy Birthday!

Way to go nabbing those corral jumpers! Honestly, they assign corrals for a reason. One of which is to have a safe start and run for everyone! Thumbs up to you!

I noticed they gave out perfect princess lanyards for year 9. Do they always do that? I thought it was only every five years.

How exciting was it to go through Cinderella Castle? Based on the route map, I was prepared to go around the castle and was thrilled to go through it. Boy does it bottleneck in there, though. Safe travels to everyone and congratulations!

My first half marathon is complete! I wanted to finish upright and I'm pleased to say I managed to hit that goal! I came in at 3 hours and 8 minutes, and I was quite happy with that given how many times I stopped for pictures. I thought perhaps there might be more princesses out for photos though, given the name of the race, but I loved meeting the Beast and getting a castle shot. Running down Main Street and through Fantasyland was fantastic, although we all had to sort of shuffle through the bottleneck at the castle.

Saw some terrible behavior from other runners - including a woman trying to bribe a volunteer with money to let her friend into her corral with her, and a girl who knocked at least ten people flying at a water stop when she sprinted through everyone, pushing people aside as she went - but also met some lovely people.

I thought the weather was wonderful, and I wish I hadn't been so nervous, I had the most wonderful time. Congratulations runners!

Oh, and my little guy managed his Mickey Mile in 14 minutes 37 seconds - glad I ran behind him because he tripped and fell close to the finish and although he got right back up, there were a few tears. He loved the race though, and is desperate to be old enough to run the 5k with me!

Wanted to pop in before I go to get my margarita(s?) in Epcot. Such a fun morning with perfect weather! I went in to today telling myself to make it a fun race and ended up doing 8 Character stops (I was excited to finally stop for the group of 4 male heroes together since I've passed them up twice before). I somehow finished at 2:42 which was faster than Star Wars with only 1 character stop haha. I did just wake up from a nap saying to myself "omg I'd have to run a marathon tomorrow when it's time for Dopey" :rotfl2:
