Official Dopey 2018 Thread

Yes. I had my room booked before the race went on sale. The travel agent we go through get's blocks of discounted rooms at different resorts for Marathon weekend. I think our agent said her agency had 20 rooms at Contemp for example. (My group booked 5 of those)

Does anyone know of any travel agencies that might have Dopey bibs available?? I for sure thought I could wait until September or October to pay for Dopey since last year it was still available pretty late in the year, but as others have mentioned, it looks like it's already sold out! -_-

Time for my anxiety and stress levels to kick into full gear until I get this sorted out!

You would have to check with the travel agencies themselves most likely. I believe Raw Threads which is not a travel agency still had some bib available but you have to sign up to be a member.

I just posted the list from the website on the FAQ thread, but here it is. I did quickly look at Acclaim Travel's website and it looked like they still had Dopey bibs.

Acclaim has been showing out of stock for Dopey bibs for a few days at least now. You have to click on their "Check Availability" link and they list the number they have available. Yesterday and today they were both showing as "Out of Stock". They do seem to release them in lots, so check back periodically but right now it doesn't look good.

Aha. Thanks for that. I didn't go that far to click on the availability. Just saw them listed and assumed. We know how assumptions usually work out. :)

Thanks for this! You can count me in for Dopey 2018 -- was able to get a bib through Magical Miles. $760 charged to my card ($560 for Dopey, $200 for hotel deposit), so it looks like I'm eating ramen for the next couple of months ...

But I'm excited!

So, been picking through the resort options. Places to stay for the race weekend. I'll be travelling with my wife and kids (who will be aged 11-8 at the time of the race).

I'm planning on staying on site for the weekend for the convenience and to avail of the transportation system. Any recommendations of which resorts to stay? We've stayed on site at WDW 3 times in the past, twice at Port Orleans Riverside and once at Pop Century.

Been looking at other possible options........any good/bad reviews of them for race weekend?

Thanks

I stayed at POFQ for Wine and Dine weekend and absolutely LOVED the dedicated bus service, and the small size of the resort!

I've heard that about FQ, a few people have mentioned that one to me.

Add me to the list of POFQ fans. It's my favorite resort for running stays. The resort's small size works to its advantage to minimize extra walking between room and buses and/or food court. Boat to DS is a plus, too.

We've stayed at POR the past three marathon weekends we have been to. It's a great resort, and easy to get to and from the starting area. Also the boat to Disney Springs is also a plus.

That sounds like great selling points thanks. Plus I do enjoy the boat ride to Springs as well.

I really am a fan of the Port Orleans resort, at least I was for Riverside, and from what everyone has said, the smaller size of French Quarter definitely has it's perks.

I, too, was very happy with POFQ during Wine and Dine weekend (and Marathon weekend in 2013).
