Anyway I look at it the best deal is fd for my family of 5. Even if I have to upgrade from the QS plan it still saves me the most. Even two rooms at pop. The exchange rate sucks so the less it is in U.S. Funds the better it is for me!

I'm not so sure...,,

We're also a family of five, 2A, 3C, and currently booked at The Contemporary. I've been pricing things on the DW booking page (so, actual numbers may differ), and with the current Cdn ticket discount, I'm finding a 7 night trip at any deluxe is actually cheaper (with the summer room discount, Cdn ticket discount, no PH, DDP) by about $400....

Depending on when you're travelling, with the requirement to buy PH, FD may not save you the most :thumbsup2

Question about space in a value's room...
Since my kids became older teenagers we have only done mods because we need the larger beds. My son is over 6' and my daughter is 5'8". They won't share a double bed and I wouldn't expect them to. That's our only reason for going mod. We spend no time in our room except to sleep. So my question is- Is there space anywhere in a value room for a twin sized blow up mattress? We would inflate/deflate each day so I'm not really concerned if it's against policy because it would never be seen by staff. The dates we're looking at have shown no availability at a mod for weeks now and with the possibility of QS only anyway definitely thinking it's not worth it.
Just tossing this out there, but now that PoP has a murphy bed and the table is attached to the bed, and not sure here, maybe you can fold the table and the whole area would be available for two blow ups, or I think there might be enough room now in front of the door if the bed is down because they have taken away the table and put in a little stand up piece.

I just want someone who knows Disney better than myself to help me out. So I am currently planning my honeymoon for August 30th-september 6th. Someone gifted us the last 3 days of our stay with their DVC points and someone else gave us 1,100 to put towards the rest of the trip. We were hoping to stay in WL or AK and qualify for free dining for the 4 days prior to our DVC days but I see that everyone is saying it will require 4 day park hoppers. Well someone else gifted us three days of non park hopper passes that we can't add days to or upgrade because we can't go there in person. So is it worth it for us to try and fight for free dining to have 7 days worth of tickets but only four days of dining? How does it work with split stays? Would it flow over to the DVC reservation? Please help! AHH!

Considering your other free items. I would just get a room discount on WL or AK.

SO....y'all realize that this time next week, we could all have FREE DINING!! :jumping1:

At least the madness will have ended (as far as worrying about FD) and life can go back to just making plans/packing/etc. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

I have a logistics question on how I should attack this on Monday. I am currently holding a reservation at SSR & it will be my backup in case I don't get FD. Because we are going whether we get it or not.
BUT I do NOT have a change/modify button at all. So I see this happening one of two ways. Please let me know what you believe to be the way I should go:

1- I make a new FD reservation online on Monday, then call to make any changes/upgrades after it's died down. Yes, I do realize by doing this I'll have to do another $200 dep.

2- I take my chances and wait until 7am EST to call, hoping there will be something available for my dates.

I really hate there is no way to make changes to my res online. It just complicates things (in my mind).
I just want this to go smoothly...for me, for us all.

Keep it simple and stress free. Just make a new reservation.

I'm sorta confused (which is why I don't do spreadsheets!!). You want me to give you how much my currently booked rack rate is? And then break out how much my tickets will cost? And the PH+? How would I know what my room discount % be?

I didn't know POP had Murphy beds. Is this in every room?

In the past, what time can you start making a reservation online with free dining? Does it go live the same time the call center opens?

Looks like Wilderness isn't coming up for your dates - Aug 30- Sept 3? Of course you can call. Animal Kingdom will be a 25% savings with the summer discount that is out right now. I don't know.

How many days are you planning to go to WDW parks? You already have 3 days, would you use more days?

We enjoy QS at Pop. Free food just can't be beat for a family of four. We don't pay oop for restaurants. It's a great savings. We'll just save our four day tickets for another time and upgrade them to either ten day passes or new AP's.
Free Dining beats RO discount after 5 days even for a family of two. We stay for 14 nights so Free Dining is always the best deal for us.

We're not frugal people and enjoy eating at places like Narcooossee's or Boathouse for example so even after the upgrade to Plus Dining the Free Dining will save us at least $800.

We were hoping to do five I figured we could just upgrade when we got there. We are driving so we figured we wouldn't want to go to the park the same day as an 8 hour drive. I have a room at WL right now at rack rate (I called this AM) in order to hopefully get free dining but I would do AK if we go with the room discount. We don't have a preference for either one so it's mostly economics.

Okay so here are the details I need and it will give a comparison list. Only give me numbers that could be a possibility. It compares offsite but if that isn't an option for you don't include it.

Resort Rack Rate per night (include tax if you want to)-
# Disney Adults -
# Disney Kids -
Number of nights -
Ticket cost -
Park hopper/plus cost -
Room discount % -
Offsite room amount -
Food OOP amount -

So if I input that it will automatically give us the different costs for different scenarios. I want to see if there are other scenarios that would be good to include.
Tips!! Ex a typical family of 4 character buffett rund around 220.00. even with FD your 40$ Out at 18%
