Experts: My DHS day is Thursday 7/6. My last FP is 12:20-1:20 window. How likely am I to get a 4th FP for Fantasmic? Most of what's I've read says this is an "easy" 4th FP but I can't find recent info...

Good information. I think this really does clear it up for me. I guess I don't know what people were doing to override the system in the first place. So people were able to book FP's on other bands, even though those bands did not enter a park. Wouldn't think the system would allow that to happen. But...I guess it was a blip that is now fixed. Is this correct?

Disney did a major update on June 7th that fixed the system and stopped the cheaters. They also "supposedly" put a punitive system in place so that they could lock the accounts of these "cheaters", although there haven't been any reports of this happening yet. I think most of us followed the rules, so we don't have to worry about it.

Fantasmic used to be an easy 4th fp but like you, haven't seen any recent updates about it. With the Star Wars show competing at the same time, the crowd will be divided between wanting to see Fantasmic and wanting to see SW, your chances should be good, I would think.

DW and I are aiming for a quick trip at Labor Day. Also will most certainly go for a few days in early December. DS is 17 and graduates high school next year so I know there will be a biggish trip in June 2018. DD is 20 and in college so she misses out on the AP fun.

What I like most is that DW and I have flexible schedules at work, and we are a 9 hour drive from WDW. So anytime we string together a couple free days we are a threat to go to Florida now. Same is true with DS.I can just imagine he and I hitting the road for a spontaneous "dudes' weekend" later this summer. Oh, the possibilities!

Awesome! This will be our first trip as APs too!

That's all awesome. We aren't close enough to drive so it's a little harder to take the quick trips but we are taking a long trip in Nov/Dec & also planning a Memorial Day weekend 2018. Not sure if we can fit a 4th trip in the year but we're trying. We also have sports & work schedules to deal with. But 3 trips will be awesome.

I hear you about the heat, never been in the summer. My "people" are doubtful regarding my tolerance level. I "dislike" and that is a mild word...the heat. My plan is to go slow, sit in the shade a lot, while my "people" go on the thrill rides, and duck into the shops and restaurants when I'm feeling overwhelmed. So, I'm taking it slow! My "people" are still not very optimistic...LOL!

Chiming in with nothing particular to say. Just excited that our trip (all of our trips!) is getting so close and it's nearly time to start packing! Which reminds me, I guess I do have a reason to post:
We are doing a crazy split-stay this year. I am thinking of trying to pack in stages, as I have read that many who do this find it helpful to have a separate bag for each of the "splits". I'm thinking of doing this (below) -- anyone have suggestions or better ideas?

Bag 1: For myself and DH, AutoTrain overnight + 3 nights Poly
Bag 2: For 3 DDs, AutoTrain overnight + 3 nights Poly
Bag 3: For myself and DH, 4 nights BWV
Bag 4: For 3 DDs, 4 nights BWV
- while at BWV, wash anything that needs it from Bags 1 & 2 so they are fresh & ready-to-go. Before checking out of BWV, wash as much as possible from Bags 3 & 4.
Take Bags 1 & 2 on 3-night Disney Dream (leave Bags 3 & 4 in van during cruise)
After the cruise we have a week at BLT, so bring Bags 1-4 in and wear clean clothes from Bags 3 & 4 at first and then do laundry as needed.

This seems like a LOT of planning, but hopefully it will pay off when we're on vacation.
Now, the challenge will be to see if I have 2 suitcases big enough to hold 3 teenaged girls' clothes/shoes/etc. for 4 days!

Magic band decals came today! Now just waiting on the actual magic bands lol.

My son says he doesn't like the new style of bands but I'm keeping an open mind. He wanted to bring the old style from our November trip. Never used a previous band but from what I read it sounds like it works the same since they are all linked to our one MDE account.

Oh what I would do to be only 9 hours away. This is our 4th year having APs and we're a 20 hour drive away. We would have a lot more trips there if we were closer.

It will work. I didn't get new ones in April and used old ones. I'm not liking the new ones either.

The new style band is larger but it is more comfortable to wear than the old band. Everyone is wearing the new bands. I haven't seen too many people wearing the old bands. I've worn both the new bands and one of my favorite old bands on our last two trips.

DH & I will be staying at POR in a Royal Room 7/22-7/25 and moving to the Swan for my work conference 7/25-7/30. It's been a bit of a challenge to plan and I'm trying to keep days mostly free and loose, but we did get 6-day park hoppers, reserve dinner at Be Our Guest, and pick some fast passes. Looking forward to it!

I did order new ones. They are thinner and more flexible, but what I don't like about them is the size difference. They are a lot fatter.

Did they go through "customization" and say shipped to ...? Sometimes they don't move for DAYS until the shipping partner has enough to finally fill up the truck. I've received mine days after the estimated delivery window.

They made it! They were sitting at the office of our complex and they hadn't called me like usual to tell me I had a package and the mailman didn't leave a message in my mailbox. Also there were photos that were mailed to us on the 14th of APRIL. I need to have a talk with the post office.
