Two New Ticket Offers for DVC Members!

I have the same 7-day UT PH tickets (without expiration), so if I calculate correctly and all goes as planned, I should be able to upgrade that ticket to the PP annual pass for about $128 a piece. Is that correct? I was planning to upgrade to a Gold AP, but of course this would be better!
That number looks correct. If you get a CM that gives you a number you don't believe is correct, ask for a supervisor to make sure the transaction is being done properly. If necessary, politely decline the transaction and try elsewhere.

Thank you, Michael. I appreciate the advice - and will hope for the best!

Has anyone purchased the DVC 7 day tickets? I'm wondering if you get a number that you can link immediately in MDE or do you have to go to guest relations to activate???

Question...
three weeks ago I purchased two Platinum passes at the DVC rate of $679 each before tax. They haven't been activated yet. Any chance I can go to guest services and get an upgrade to the Platinum Plus pass AND a refund of $120/ticket? :)
I called member services and they said I could, but it sounds too good to be true, so I thought I would ask the experts!

Thanks,
Stacey

I bought from UT the 10 day PH WPM tickets for our 15 day on site stay right before the price increase, we arrive in 5 weeks. I think I spent around $497 pp (Gate price around $527 according to price chart). The price now is around $565pp - if we do this deal it's around $595pp. What will my upgrade price be? Will it be the same if I do now or then?

I'd love to be able to make more than 10 day FP+ ressies and get "free photopass." (Which I hadn't added yet but planned too) But messing with my party of 9 FP+ might be deal breaker. I was super bummed we could go to park on day 1 and day 15 and now we possibly can.

I would plan to pay the difference between $595 and the $527 gate price ($68) and be pleasantly surprised if you get it based on the $565 gate price ($30). I 'think' it really depends on when you added the tix to MDE. We had to add them before the last price increase to get our FP+, so it was based off the earlier gate price.

I am very confused. I literally just renewed my gold annual pass yesterday because my fast pass day is tomorrow. I was not aware of the promotion and the cast member didn't mention it. I am not sure if it pays to upgrade or how to do it. We won't use the water parks and we were not planning on traveling during blackout periods. The other question is if we do upgrade to platinum plus if we want to renew next year does it have to be to platinum plus. If that is the case it might not be worth it because I wouldn't want to pay for that at regular prices.

Correct me if I am wrong. We currently have the Gold AP that expires on 12/1/17. We do not plan on being at WDW in 2018, at least enough to make an AP of value, but we do plan on several trips in late 2018 and all of 2019. My plan is to let the Gold AP expire, then sometime prior to January 3, 2018 purchase the PAP Plus at the discounted price and activate it in Nov 2018. Disney would not consider this purchase as a renewal would they? Would I need to wait for 30 days after expiration just to be sure, leaving me only Jan 2nd and 3rd of 2018 to purchase?

This is awesome. So glad I waited to purchase tickets. I'm now seeing Christmas, Easter & Thanksgiving in our future. :Dpixiedust:

You just need to buy a new pass not renew the current one. You should be able to purchase a new pass online or by phone and it will not be activated until you go to the ticket window to do so in late 2018.

So confused and need advice. I had a Premier Passport (Disneyland and WDW) that expired in last October. I did not renew then as I wasn't getting back to the USA parks until this October. I want to get the Premier Passport again (must be purchased in person at the parks). So I can get my FPs, I planned to buy a WDW 5 day ticket from UT, get my FP on MDE and then upgrade once I had used the ticket.

As there is no special price (discount) for the Premier Pass, I think that is the best option. Unless someone can show me an alternative?

You can't upgrade a UCT ticket now unless you are at Disney world currently. They do not upgrade tickets from third parties over the phone. You will have to do it in person. Old tickets (ie those without expiration dates) are only supposed to be worth the gate price on 2/11/17 toward the upgrade. This had been confirmed numerous times by various Disboards posters since the price increase this Feb including a poster who works at Epcot in ticketing.

We are a family of 5 with current Gold passes that expire in early January 2018. We have 3 trips planned the remainder of 2017, and we have trips planned for 2019, but could take a short one in 2018 if necessary to activate before the deadline.

My understanding is that
  • We could take advantage of this offer by upgrading our Gold passes when we're there, so that we would then have Platinum+ until our original expiration date (they've already been used in the parks).

  • We could buy new passes and then activate near the end of 2018 to cover the trip we were planning in 2019
Am I correct to think that since we are a family of five and their is a limitation of 8 on the purchase, this is an either / or proposition and we can't do both?

It says tickets must be activated by 12/31/18. Anyone know what happens if they aren't? Do they activate for us or do they refund or are they invalid?
Thanks

After 12/31/2018, they will apply the price paid towards another ticket purchase of equal or greater value.

Thanks for the info. We just left WDW yesterday and used up all of our 2018 points. We are planning on going back June 2019. Does anyone know if annual passes can be activated without going to the parks?

Passes can be activated at any WDW theme park or water park ticket window or Guest Relations, or at the Disney Springs Guest Relations office.

Short answer:no. You have to be there, and then follow Michael's post.

Ok I have read the posts and followed links but still not sure. Please be kind for asking but I have a Gold AP that expired in May and I renewed but have not activated yet. Going to Disney on Monday and going to GS to activated, so are they going to give me a Platinum Plus Pass now? My son in law DVC member AP expires on like July 19 can he renew and get the Platinum Plus for the renewal price or does he have to purchase a new AP to get the upgrade. And lastly the 5/7 day tickets can I purchase those for a family members not DVC members or are they restricted. Thank you for any help you can give. My head is spinning

Does anyone know how this works with renewals? My son's pass is due to be renewed next month. Do we have to buy a new pass or can we get the platinum plus pass at the gold renewal rate?
