This seems like a lot to add to a small bridge. Plus I wonder about lines once the thing is open. This will be interesting.
And it will only be for 2 Parks.I don't think it will be as bad as you think. Remember, it will constantly be running and should handle a line quite efficiently.
So far only the 90's and the 80's.My 60 day mark has arrived! Since I can now choose my preferred location, can someone confirm which sections are done and which will be done by early September? Thanks!

I don't know.. Have you ever been skiing?? sometimes we have waited a while... my only concern are all scooters ACV? things... THIS will hold things up... Most are rentals so people have issues getting on the buses.. and they are not moving. Plus are they going to lock each wheelchair in etc... if every 2nd gondola stops for these... dear God......it'll be faster to walk
Well...the good news is that there is a path all the way around the lake so even if the bridge is closed you'll still be able to go back and forth between the resorts. The bad news is, depending on your room location at Pop, it could be a looooonnnggg walk.
Oh that would be great. We are skiers so those systems don't have them for obvious reasons or stop on rare occasions.I don't think the station is going to be on the bridge. I think it will be a "peninsula" off of the bridge extending out into the lake. I think you'll walk midway across the bridge, turn right or left (depending on which way you're coming), and walk on another bridge to the station. At least that's the general impression I get from what I've read about the project.
One of the videos I've seen of a similar system shows that it's very easy for a car to be "pulled aside" for special loading requirements. It doesn't slow down the system in general.
There's a trail that goes all the way around Hourglass Lake (all the around is 1.25 miles, I use it for morning runs). I think the shortest would be starting in the 80s (building 7) and heading around towards Cars. It's probably just about the same from the 50s to the Little Mermaid section, but the main building with the dining at AOA is closer to Cars. So I would go that way for sure.We are staying at POP in 31 days. If the bridge is closed (sounds like it will be), how long is the walk to AoA? I didn't even know that you could walk around the lake to AoA. Which room location would you pick to walk over there? We love POP but like to have the dining option of AoA. TIA
We're also skiers, and I was wondering the same thing! The skiing gondolas don't offer this, but it sounds perfect for loading/unloading ECVs at Disney.Oh that would be great. We are skiers so those systems don't have them for obvious reasons or stop on rare occasions.
The more I think about it.. they should make the system for everyone... Basically group gondola cabins ( basically a traffic jam) at loading and unloading so they stop..I can also see some people just having an issue stepping up or down while it is moving.. plus 10 people at once trying to get on a moving thing..even skiing with 8er cabins its a push rush to squeeze in... and many guests are not physically up to that, or smaller kids.. .We're also skiers, and I was wondering the same thing! Has anyone been able tp update or do the online check in? I can't update it for some reason.

Edit: I'm not sure how far it is from the 80s to the food court at AoA. Somewhere between 1/4 to 1/2 mile, probably.
I wonder if the walking path between the 50's at Pop and the LM section at AofA might get closed due to construction since that's where they are building the boat ramp.
I think it's certainly a possibility. The pictures I've seen since yesterday still show it open but with fencing on each side of it. So for now, even though they are in the early stages of construction, the path is open. But once work actually starts, I can see it being closed or rerouted around the construction zone...which makes the walk between the resorts even longer.
It wouldn't surprise me to see a shuttle bus (as someone mentioned already) going between Pop and AofA if the bridge gets closed. I'll happily walk across the bridge if it's open, but I'm not walking around the lake (even if it's still open) in August.
I doubt there will be a bus to take people 2,000 feet. lol, but who knows
