No Poland booth at Food & Wine??

I was sad to see Poland go too. I am of polish descent, and although the offerings, aren't as good as what you get in Poland, I always loved visiting the booth.

Which late in the day...has the texture of a hockey puck...as an ode to Canada

Yes, we have found the quality has gone down considerable in recent 5 years or so. The festival is so big, the food has to be mass produced, the CMs working the booth seem to be suffering through plopping it down. Sometimes it's the right temp, many times it's not. The menus seemed to have changed to what is the easiest to mass produce and assemble.

Food is the one thing we all have different expectations, different bars to set/meet.

And there's the other elephant in the room...

Who stole my script?!?

City nothing. I live way out in the 'burbs of Chicago, and I've only had two meals at WDW that would stand out against any of my local eating places. I don't need to hit downtown to beat WDW.

As for FW, the one time my trip coincided with FW, it rather ruined the World Showcase experience for me[1], which is a shame, cos I usually enjoy a day tooling around the lagoon.

[1] Again, if I want to surround myself with drunk 20 somethings making asses of themselves, I can go spend an evening in Chicago's bar district.

Pinch me...everyone should agree with everything I think like this...what a world it would be?

I also like that the more they lengthen it...the worse it tails off.

It used to be that it was a good experience in the first 3 weeks and drag in the last...

Now it's like 2 good, 5 of torture for the college slave labor

Nice try. It certainly does not. Always been fresh. However "most" of the time we do CS at lunch and sit down at night.

Still side stepped drinks and wine at this point.

You're on your own track here...nothing new...I asked for experiences and I got them. It was an open question and I would consider any good/bad points.

You're defending things to the wind...as usual.

You love all things disney and I'm beginning to think you spend an unhealthy amount of time there...I got it...duly noted. Move on, please.

What your not grasping if CS compared to Sit down. No it's not sit down quality, And believe me we never compare WDW to MPLS food.

Guests at WDW indeed need/use CS. Are you saying all WDW counter service is better than F&W food?

I get that...but as everyone but you has acknowledged...crowds are a problem, stagnation is a problem, overuse is a problem.

The counter service sucks...so a $75 walking lunch in a throng is beyond debate?

And i don't shy away from expenses on food and grog...but I can't shut my brain off and ignore what it is...

$75? Canada filet is $6.50 and Canada Scallops are $6.oo

That's it? An glut of people to navigate and make your Elsa boat ride 90 minute wait and that's all you want?

So why don't we just have them serve that year round in the beaver tail Stoner without the hubabaloo? Solves both our problems...

Crowds are only a problem on Friday and Saturday nights. I've been to around 10 festivals, probably more. I love going, I think the World Showcase looks empty when the booths are not set up.

I'm still not seeing it. I can walk less than 1/4 mile to a barbecue joint that stocks over a hundred whisk(e)ys, and the staff are knowledgeable about all of them. Another half mile gets me to a local brewery who have an ever changing selection of beers and ales from around the world in their restaurant. Any number of high-concept burger-and-beer chains around me offer more selection at one table than Epcot does in total.

If I lived in Manhattan I'd accept that my experience is atypical, but I don't. I live on the wrong side of suburban Chicago.

Don't get me wrong, staying home offers far more everything (food and drink wise) than WDW. But if your touring WDW for a week-why complain about "additional" CS and wine offerings?

That's just one example, but yea $12 for filet and scallops (not $75) instead stead of a burger for sure.

I'll give you that...but they make mad profit off the rest of the "crawl" in most cases.

Some of the festival stuff holds form well...some not so much.

Oh, I don't complain (well I do: the crowds annoy, and the booths are ugly, but that aside). If it was an upcharge, I'd really give the stink-eye to that. I can't really cheer it though.

The problem though is that this isn't just a nice extra Disney does because it loves us all, it's a weak attempt to goose a park that is otherwise in bad shape. I'd much rather see an increase in focus on more cool shops. It's still possible to find things in the Epcot stores you wont easily find elsewhere. If FW and FG were just a few weeks to a month each, that'd be better IMV.
