Ahhh.. everyone's trips sound so great! We fly out this Saturday.. I can't believe it's so close!!!!

I've been keeping my eye on the forecast and this last week or so has looked perfect (mid-high twenties.. for my Celsius folks!). But next week when we're in the park it's forecasted to be 36-38 degrees (97-100 F). Yikes!!!

We also leave on Saturday!! I've also been watching the Anaheim forecast like a hawk...holy cow, it's going to be hot next week! Although, I'm looking forward to it because our summer hasn't been as warm as usual in Ontario.

I'm so sorry it is going to be so hot for some of you guys...I wish we could share the better weather we are having now!

Just a note which might be helpful for some coming...I have an AP & bought the year long MaxPass to go with it. We've been experiencing some problems with the photopass portion of the pass. Every time we input a ride photo's number into my phone app it tells us it will appear within up to 20 minutes...it has actually been taking a minimum of 4 hours to post. Not sure if it's just something wrong with my account (possibly) or if the system is being overloaded by more people buying & using the MaxPass or what. All the usual phone bug fixes aren't helping...force closing the app & reopening it anew, restarting the phone, etc. I just wanted to give a heads up so no one panics if their pics aren't available in the timeframe they specify on the app!

We leave on Sunday and yeah, mid to high 30's is going to be HOT! I'm really glad that we ordered a flat of water to be delivered to the hotel because we are going to want to stay hydrated for sure!

I had a lovely wake up this morning when I got this notification on my phone:

Since it is supposed to be so stinking hot I went online and found these. Reserved them online and I will pick them up this afternoon. water bottle and mister all in one, perfect! Too bar they did not have any of the Batman, Superman, WonderWoman ones that O2Cool has on their website, but I'll take the maple leaf!

We will take long pool breaks in the afternoon and hope for the best. I bought us each a fan/mister and we're bringing water thermos bottles that stay cold all day. Just need to figure out where to get lots of ice water. Any ideas?

most places already have little cups ready with ice water but some places, like Pizza Port, you fill the soda cup with ice water yourself so you can use the big cup.

Today was lovely (and even cool in the shade in Hollywood) but also saw the forecast. We have cooling towels (will see if they actually help) and collapsible water bottles.

You guys!!!! I couldn't sleep last night and was browsing dining reservations. (I had a Fantasmic package booked at RBT).. while I was peeking.. a Blue Bayou reservation opened up and I snagged it. Omg! This is a serious splurge for me and I was totally having a YOLO moment at 1:00 in the morning, lol. So now we're dining at BB.. we have an early reservation on Sunday, which will get us out of the heat in the late afternoon.

I was a bit worried about RBT because the kid meal options did not look that desirable.. and I think my kids will like the BB options better (and kids meals are the same price as RBT). ALSO!!!! We get to freakin dine INSIDE pirates!! Lol. I'm freaking out a bit. So so excited!

That's wonderful! I would check in for your reservation early and ask to wait for a waterside table!

Two days to go and I am getting a mani and pedi, with Mickey designs of course! Tomorrow I have a brow wax and a wash/blow dry booked then we leave at 5:30am Sunday! (If I get a wash/ dry done the day before then I can get away with it washing my hair at stupid o'clock on Sunday)

So, we are sitting in SNA airport waiting for our (delayed) flight home.

A short review of the trip:
It was hot and humid, more so than any other of our trips. For those of us who use metric, it was in the high 30's and even topped out at 40 Tuesday afternoon. Because of the heat, we ended up going back to the hotel for a fairly extended afternoon rest but that enabled us to hit the parks for the late afternoon and evening.

We rode Grizzly right before going back to rest and we got SOAKED each time. So much so that we all needed total outfit changes and had to lay our soaked clothes out on the balcony to dry. We were staying at the GCH so it was a short walk to the hotel.

We were in a standard room at the Grand and we got one of the refurbished ones. I can say that I loved the new rooms and the Grand has now moved up to my favourite DLR hotel.

We got max pass for our 3 full days but skipped getting it on our arrival day since it was lunch time before we arrived. I can say that we loved it and I cannot imagine not getting it in the future. It allowed us to use our son's DAS only once or twice a day and it was wonderful to be able to book FPs from anywhere in the parks.

GotG, in all of our opinions, is way better than ToT and that used to be my favourite ride! DS and I rode it 4 times and we could have ridden it more times if we had wanted. Such a fun ride and even more intense than ToT!

All in all, this was in our top three best Disneyland trips and even though we had said that we were going to take all of 2018 off from Disney, I suspect that it will not be long before I join another trip thread!

Got back last night from 4 days in the parks. Stayed at DLH, which was as good as I remembered. Booked a standard room but mentioned it was our anniversary and I think they upgraded our room. In Adventure tower, 5th floor with a view of downtown. Loved it!

Maxpass is a lifesaver for feet and can get on a lot more rides with it. With the heat, it saved us. We bought it all 4 days. Had a hiccup on the last day and it was happening to a lot of others, where not all tix were showing up to get a maxpass for. Missed most of Magic morning getting it fixed but they kind of made up for it by giving us maxpass for free for the ticket that wasn't showing up and a couple of extra fastpasses good for any ride. That came in handy for GOTG, which we LOVED. Rode it 10 times. Ride splash 8 times to cool off. Grizzly was a letdown. Ride it twice and it stopped both times while we were on it and we barely got wet. Soarin broke down just as we sat down to ride it. But we didn't mind, never stood in line for anything and overall had a great time! If it wasn't so hot, it would have been a perfect trip. I'll never go in summer again

So, our delayed flight was REALLY delayed and overbooked so when the airline was looking for three people to give up their seats and they were offering $1000 per person, we jumped at it...especially since we were going to miss out connecting flight anyway.
