Talking Donald (with Minnie and Mickey) being tested in DCA

very cool! though with all three of them together it seemed like almost more watching a show of them interacting with each other. I know this is just a test but having done the Talking Mickey M&G at WDW that felt like more interacting with him directly vs watching a show

One step closer to bridging the uncanny valley - has Westworld taught us nothing? I will say that the talking Mickey at MK is an experience (and one I was not expecting to be as unusual as it was - even knowing ahead of time that I was going to have a conversation with a 5 foot mouse). I'd welcome other characters getting in on this - but will also warn that these verbal delights have violent ends...

FYI, I’ve seen several bloggers tweet about a talking Donald, Minnie and Mickey meet in California’s DCA:

I am very much afraid that I will not be able to understand what Donald is saying to me (if it'll be an authentic Donald voice) lol. Also a fear of him telling me off (my Minnie ears). lol.
And the talking Mickey... I say this with affection... He creeps me out just a tad. lol. :flower1:

Just respond with stuff like, “Yes, Donald, but Mickey is my favorite”. :rotfl2:.

I agree that Mickey still has room for improvement. I think the brilliance of the multi-character greet is how you don’t 100% focus on 1 character and their flaws.

Eventually we will refer to the current silent meets like some bizarro black & white silent film era.

Me in 2045 talking to my grand kids: Back in my day the characters didn't even talk when we would meet them ... and we had to actually physically eat our Dole Whip rather than consuming in pill form ... and we had wonderful classic attraction sin ECPOT - like Soarin' and Mission Space .... ah, memories

I'm with you guys with the new Mickey looking and feeling a bit odd. I'll be in DCA in 2 weeks - I'll look for them!

Donald is too cranky to care. He will tell me off with a vengeance... and I won't even understand what he's saying. Lol!

I agree with that. Even Mickey isn't so great that he should stand alone. They could all use a buffer. As for the muted characters... I think therein lies that little bit of Disney "Magic." (shut up and look cute, and leave the rest to our imagination! (*_*) )

I think this would be amazing. I would love to have talking Goofy, Pooh, and Tigger as well!

I’m not trying to spoil the magic but how is this tech done? Does it involve 2 people per character?
