How's the pedestrian bridge coming along?

If at all. I'm going to Disneyland in August of 2018, but haven't made reservations yet. If I stay across the street, will the crosswalk still be in use then? If not, I may end up staying at a resort hotel. Though I'd rather save as much money as possible to put towards WDW in 2019.

Woo hoo!! ... Is the Carousel Inn still standing?
Yeah, project is dead. Though I think they made changes to the design allowing people to still use the crosswalk on Harbor Blvd.

The Carousel Inn is still planned to be demolished (if they haven't done so already-haven't really paid much attention). Maybe once SWGE opens and the parking and crowds are untenable, Anaheim will give in and allow a revised Eastern Gateway to go forward.

Carousel still stands, unoccupied. Such a shame, too. We never stayed there but it seemed like a great hotel option.

We’re staying at the Courtyard for one night prior to staying at the Disneyland Hotel in March just because of flight times on Saturday vs. Sunday. Our best option seems to be to still take the Disney Shuttle to Disneyland Hotel and then hoof it over to the Courtyard and then hoof it back to hotel. We have a 7 and 4-year old so Uber etc out without car seats. Is this idea crazy, looks like a 20 Minute walk but have never been.

Yes. This is completely crazy. Get them some bubble bum car seats and call it a day!

No way would I do that. Absolutely not. You'd have walk all the way around Disneyland Resort with all your luggage & the kids! You won't be able to cut through DtD due to luggage & suitcases so the map google proposes won't work. 40 min walk without a 4 & 7 year old. At minimum send a parent with the luggage in an Uber so the rest can walk through DtD, personally I'd find car seat options like they bubblebum thing or a taxi with car seats.

The business owners on Harbor Blvd, in conjunction with the Anaheim city council, put an end to the Eastern Gateway project.

Agreed. It would have absolutely decimated the Candy Cane Inn. Their business would have been severely impacted.

Just a note, it only costs $10 to take a car from the eastern entrance of the resort to the front door of the DL hotel. (regardless of no. of people or luggage)

Can you just add a day to the front of your Disneyland Hotel stay?

As a side note, you CAN walk through DTD with luggage. Sometimes they send a Security CM as an escort. We did this just a few months ago when we had a split stay between GC and a hotel on Harbor. Another time, we came from the airport with LOTs of luggage and needed to get tickets before we headed to the hotel. Once again, they just gave us a security escort.

Bubblebum boosters are awesome. And they were invented in Europe, which is lightyears away from most US states in car seat safety. If they pass muster there I’ll trust them. :)

One pound each; my son carried his in his backpack onto the plane. :)

Interesting, why can’t we cut through DTD with the suitcases. Walk is less than a mile if we do that.

I like the bubblebum car seats, not sure it’s an option for our four year old who is barely over 30 pounds. Appreciate all the responses, the cost of ride is not an issue, just hauling car seats.

We’re coming a day early basically because of flight times on Sunday vs Saturday and want to make sure we have a decent amount of time Sunday at the park and the Marriot is free on points.
