Hello. I was wondering if there is enough space to put a pack n play in the standard room with courtyard view? We are a family of 5. Will it be tight? Also is there a closet or room for clothes? Thanks in advance.

We rented a crib on our trip, but this is what we did. We moved the desk to the other side of the TV and put the crib where the desk was. If we’d used a pack n play, I think we would have done the same thing. It seemed to fit the best there.

Do they still have the sea marine shampoo and conditioner? If they do, what are everyone’s thoughts on it? I usually bring my own shampoo, because i have curly hair that’s been lightened so it frizzes easily and can feel dry.

If it’s good stuff, I’m thinking about saving the weight and space in our luggage and just using what’s in the room.

They had the sea salt shampoo etc in Oct and I just don’t like the smell so always bring small bottles of my own color care shampoo (got highlights so no more hotel shampoo for me!) still love the bath aquatics (blue color) bath products and wish they would bring those back.

"Has anyone asked about or offered the paid upgrade to club level (access) that was happening for a while? Just wondering if it was still happening, because it would be nice for my April weekend trip."

Great Question KCPINWDW ... I would also like information and feedback from those that opted to pay for the extra service.
We have a trip planned with three adults for the St. Patrick's day weekend and we are staying at Cooper Creek (DVC points)

I have wavy/curly coloured hair. I find their sea marine hair line fine. I leave my stuff home. I pack a non friz curling cream or mousse styling product, and spray in conditioner for extra conditioning. Bed Head makes a good spray in (yellow bottle).

I’d like to know about this too!

SO thinking of switching to WL this December. Do you know if any standard view rooms have connecting doors? Traveling with family and want connecting rooms. Thanks!
Yes, they have rooms with connecting doors. We have had connecting doors in at least two of our stays in standard view rooms. You need to have the request added to both of the reservations. :)

Congratulations! I knew you'd be back at the Lodge before long, and now you don't have to wait long at all!
Thanks! We are really looking forward to returning to the lodge. It will be the first time in years that I won't be taking pictures of construction. It seems like there was something under construction every time we have stayed there for the last 5 years. It will be nice to see it without scaffolding somewhere. ;)

Has anyone on this thread stayed in the cabins yet? Just wondering if you think they are worth the extra points over a regular 2 bedroom villa.

I am currently at WL and not particularlay happy with this new housekeeping policy this afternoon. I wasn’t worried when the new ‘room occupied’ signs arrived a few days ago, but today I’ve had a run in with security over actually using my sign. I ran the marathon this morning. When I got back to the hotel around 12:30 I of course wanted a shower, and to have a nap to recover. Housekeeping were on the floor at the time, so I put the sign up and the latch on when I realised they had not yet been in my room. At about 3:15pm there was a persistent knock at my door which woke me up. I answered the door (took some effort to move fast, the legs are very tired!). I was informed I was obliged to let housekeeping to clean the room. I politely let him know I was asleep, he had woken me and that I’d just run the marathon and would like a rest, but he refused and told me that housekeeping had to have access before their shift ended at 5pm (despite only having had the sign up for 2-3 hours). Apparently it is unacceptable for me to be on the bed with my legs up whilst this happens. I’m pretty mad - housekeeping have been in my room every day of my stay so far, this is the one afternoon of a 9 night stay that I wanted privacy and rest and I’ve essentially been told that is not going to happen.

Wow! I’ve been reading all the threads on the changes but I guess I had faith it would run smoothly and they would respect the signs or at least the request to come back later. Did you speak to anyone about this yet?

Yes. I spoke to the front desk. They were very apologetic and put it down to teething problems with the new policy. Apparently nobody has quite worked out how they are supposed to implement it, so there is a lot of individual interpretation going on...

I guess I can see how they need some time to get the kinks worked out but I’m sorry you had to be the one experiencing it. I hope it runs smoothly for you from
here on out.

First, congrats on the marathon! DH and I have only managed to do the half marathon so you are my hero !

Aaarrggghh on the new housekeeping policy! They should at least give guests an option of “skip housekeeping “ option if they want and especially after a long day or race and you want a nap. As long as guests know that housekeeping may not come back to the room if they have a skip housekeeping note all should be fine.

Is it true that on Disney After Hours nights the boat to WL from MK does not keep running until the end of the event?

Last year, resort launches and monorails stopped running at normal time after regular park closing - or long enough to clear regular day guests as usual.

Buses were provided for DAH guests leaving at the end of the event. Given the limited number of people, they had non-traditional bus route sharing. For example, I was at Poly but our bus stopped at WL, FW, Poly, and GF.

No guarantees what they’ll do this year, but I suspect it will be similar.

Very sorry to hear this. Recovering after a race is very important. Question for clarity sake: did they tell you that you could not be in the room while they cleaned it? Moving forward I wonder if guests are allowed to say something like "housekeeping is welcome to come in and take a quick look but I only need more towels (or shampoo, trash emptied, etc.) not a full cleaning."

Not that this helps you being woken up in the first place :-/

He told me I was obligated to let housekeeping service the room once a day. The front desk told me the person that came to my door was wrong, and that all I was ‘obligated’ to do was a security sweep. At any rate, as I pointed out to the front desk, it was three hours out of the day that I wanted privacy, I would prefer them to respect that. They had the rest of the day to service/check the room (and their shift still had two hours on it to come back and check).

I can see both sides of this. It would be very difficult for the security check to make allowances for everyone asking for it. There are too many rooms and just so many hours in the day. Security cannot appease a guest as such because that would mean a potential threat could ask for the same treatment. I am compassionate for your circumstances but it really was but a few minutes out of your day.

I was asleep. I’d just run 26.2 miles. I only stayed at Disney for tonight to give myself the afternoon today to recover from the race in my room. As I said to the front desk, had it been any other day I would have let them in and shrugged it off, but to be hauled out of bed with every muscle screaming and a foot covered in blisters (because they did not stop knocking until I got up), and have to answer the door in my pyjamas to a stranger - that was a major inconvience for me personally today.

Also, he demanded to be able to service the room, not do a security sweep (a point on which the hotel told me he was incorrect about in his approach). The latter was what he was apparently supposed to request to do (and I would have let him in for that as that would have been swift I presume), but I was not willing to accommodate a service of the room given how long that would have taken.

So this tells me that people are going to have to call the front desk and request early service if they plan to come back to the resort to rest, especially with kids. I would not be happy as a parent if housekeeping came and woke up my napping child and then demanded we leave the room, especially if the sign is out and they know it is occupied.

I'm not sure this policy makes anyone safer. But that is a discussion for another thread.
