New 2018 TIcket Prices

I'm on the fence right now about renewing our APs or not. We're retired and it's getting harder and harder to justify the expense. We are unable to ride most of the rides anymore so mainly just go to walk, shop or grab a bite to eat. They really need a senior plan. We currently have Platinum but if we do renew we will probably have to drop to the Gold. Does anyone know if you downgrade at renewal time do you pay the renewal price for that level or pay the full price since you are switching levels? Thanks!

The one time I dropped to a lower level at renewal, I just paid the renewal rate for the cheaper pass.

Have you considered dropping to a Silver to save money, or do you tend to go during the blackout periods?

If you "zoom out" a little from that idea, you'll see that there are hundreds of thousands of potential guests who
don't have kids, but who can travel at various times of year.
Increase the price incentive a bit, and those guests might be persuaded to head to WDW.

Also, potential guests from other parts of the world have different seasons and schedules.

That is even going to change for lots of North American kids whose traditional "school years" are evolving.
I think previous poster was being sarcastic. Everyone know the parks are full of school aged kids year round.

I just bought 5 tickets from UT this morning - 4 adult 9-day park hopper plus tickets and 1 child. UT has actually lowered the price for these tickets by an additional $20 in the last 2 days; it was $528/505.90 on Friday and today it is $508/485.90. I have no idea why the price was dropped. These tickets are listed to expire on January 14, 2019 and not 12/31/18. I already have the tickets linked to my MDE account.

I just saved $309.70 over what the current WDW ticket price is :).

We must have had the same cereal.

Non expiring tickets showed an expiration date of 2030 in mde last november when we traveled with friends that still had one attached to mde account. Does anyone else see that?
I do, although, I thought I read somewhere they really don't expire even then because they are NON Expiring. I also have some old tickets that don't expire until 14 days after first use and those don't show any expiration date in my MDE.

We considered the silver but generally the black out periods fall when schools are out and if the grand kids come for a visit we don't want to be blocked from going with them. As a general rule we don't go during the summer months so we may decide to go that route.I guess we could upgrade to the gold if they come during the black out dates.

Wish I had heard about the coming increases, I probably would have bought the Canadian tickets. We will still go on our trip but what this did do was scrap our plans to upgrade the tickets to annual passes. The hike was too big disney, we were going to go 4 times from Toronto in the next year but after another almost $600(CDN) added today, it just is too much to justify.

Maybe UT lowered their prices in response to Get Away Today's prices. Yesterday, I was able to buy an adult 7 day ticket (actually a 5 day with 2 extra days park hopper) for 442 which included taxes. Today, their prices are up and an adult park hopper is 477 for the same number of days. I think that prior to Disney increasing prices, Get Away had the lowest prices for a bit and like I said UT was may be trying to compete? Something to be aware of next time, maybe some 3rd party ticket sellers will decrease their stock again right before Disney increases tickets that they sell. I guess it is a way for the UT and the like to drum up business a bit.

Does the $442 include park hopping? I paid $22 more on Thursday for a 7 day park hopper (buy 6, get 7) so it looks like your price was buy 5, get 7.

Same as last year, I went with UCT through the MS newsletter link. I did the price comparison thing on TP before I pulled the trigger. Somewhere else was pennies less than UCT.

I did not see a listing for a seller called Get Away Today. Is it new? Or am I the last to know? LOL! I have a knack for that.

Yes, the 442 included park hopping - the price is up though today. I am not sure how long Get Away Today has been around though I heard about them around a year ago or so. I read Tom Bricker's facebook page and blog and he recommend GAT a few days ago as having the lowest ticket prices (though I want to reiterate, they do not seem to be the lowest for WDW today and I think the price I paid was only available for a few days). I also bought tickets in January for 2 different family members going earlier and one of the lowest prices at that time was around 465 for the same ticket from Underground Tourist - I had read that ticket at that time was the best deal for both bridging to a AP and going 7 days, though now I wish I had just bought APs.

where would you see the expiration date? I don't see any expiration date on our current tickets. My understanding was they were NON Expiring tickets. I do have them linked to individual people since we plan to use them for our upcoming trip. Does that matter?

When and from whom did you buy these tickets?

For once I listened to myself instead of my wife (EDIT - she doesn't scan these boards - I hope!) We have never bought tickets ahead of time but I decied to buy them a few weeks ago for our July trip. as a result, we saved $50.

That's probably, what - 2 drinks at Shulas? (Staying at the Dolphin).

You can only see the expiration date under my tickets in the app, it doesn't show on the desktop version.

I bought them from Undercover Tourist last year before the price increase.

I don't see an expiration date in the app either.

I bought two 6-day tickets last month and they don't show an expiration date in the app or the web page. But the confirmation e-mail stated that they expire 12/31/2018.

And, remember that buying discounted tickets minted before this morning's price upgrade
will likely EXPIRE if not first-used on or before Dec. 31, 2018.
I bought my 6-day MYW ticket in October 2016- before they started having expirations...I think...and hope!
