We had originally booked an outer building theme park view and when I realized I could get CL for only $16/day extra, I was willing to give up the view for the CL access. We are not on a DP so worth the $$ for sure even just to be able to grab breakfast and snacks.

Ok good to know. We just stayed at GF and did not do dining plan. We did waste a decent amount of time getting food, wondering if its worth it.

Is the beach pool open again after the last refurbishment? Has anyone seen the new cabanas... are they similar to the old ones before the hurricanes last fall? Thanks!

Ideas for a "Resort Day"? We are planning a full day to just enjoy the GF with our 11 and 13 year-olds. I am thinking of renting one of those little boats to go around the lagoon. Other ideas? We will be there Thanksgiving week.

I know that the pool has reopened, but I have not heard anything about the new cabanas-- I would like to know about that myself!

Definitely rent the boat. We rented one of the pontoon boats, and my family still talks about it.
See if the Princess Parade is happening in the Lobby. Your kids may be too old for it, but it is fun to watch.
If you have girls, do the tea in the lobby. I’m not sure that boys would enjoy it, however.
Enjoy the pools.
Monorail hop to visit the lobbies of the other hotels.
Some nights, they offer S’mores/marshmallow roasts down by the beach, or movies on the lawn.
Hang out in the lobby and listen to the orchestra.

Good luck! It is a great resort.

Thats one of my favorite days we have. We monorail hop, lunch and the game room at the Contemporary and shopping. Then dole whips and shopping at the Poiy and we usually walk back to the GF. We also love lunch at the Wilderness lodge outside, its so relaxing. We usually take the monorail to the MK and take the boat from there. So much to see and do.

BTW - The Poly has a ceremony too I just don't know what time it is. Very cute, they light all the torches and hand out lies. My kids are older and we like Trader Joe's at the Poly for drink too. Your kids are welcome early in the day...I think until 5, that cute also.

Just a note to indicate the Arcade at the Contemporary has closed. As of April 13th a brand-new, playful and immersive Pixar character experience as part of a pilot program. Each night, kids, ages 4-12, will be transported to a world full of excitement and adventure with their favorite characters from Disney Pixar’s “Toy Story” and “The Incredibles”!

Oddly GF's upcharge for cl from gv room is lower than any other resort. To upgrade from TPV it is nearly the same,

I prefer cl at gf unless I get a huge deal either with AP or TA.

The time savings are great. So much better than waiting in line at gaspies for a beverage or snack. Also the location of SL is great too.

GF resort day sound like fun!

I agree with the other posters; pool, hop to another resort for a meal, movie night or rent a boat.

Order room service. I called the night before and asked for breakfast to be delivered in the AM. It was hot and fresh and very, very good. My kids used to love to get a special desert from room service.

Well, we should be two days away from the GF ... Unfortunately, plans have a nasty habit of falling apart. Our's fell to bits due to illness. So, we are staying home. But, there is sometimes a silver lining. Instead of merely cancelling our reservation, we moved the booking to 2019. So, we have the joy of another twelve months of planning and anticipation! :-)

Now, off to change that ticker ...

I'm sorry you aren't able to take your trip, but glad you were able to reschedule instead of cancelling altogether :).

Ill try to send you pix at the end of the month to help you with missing GF.

Sorry and hope everything works out for your family.

YES!! I am so glad I upgraded to CL. Only adding $200 to our entire reservation and seems like a no-brainer.

Wait. I am obsessed with the fact you got CL for only $200 more??!! Please share how that happens. I really want to do CL but it adds over $600 to our trip in September.
