WestJet pilots vote to strike - no walk out yet

We have a flight booked with them for mid August to Cabo. I'm not panicking (yet) because a LOT can happen in 3 months but I feel for the people that have flights booked with them over the next few weeks :(

Yikes! This is the only thing that makes me glad (sorta) that we aren't going to WDW this year. We always fly WestJet, and we always fly out the Victoria Day long weekend!!

I don't fly with them till next Jan but my heart goes out to people who have trips/vacations planned in the next few weeks.
Let's hope they come to a quick agreement/solution.
Hugs Mel

Well, you'd have been ok this May 2-4 as the union said they wouldn't go on strike over the long weekend. Based on that, the earliest they would start a strike is Tuesday the 22nd.

We're taking WestJet to FLL in late August for our cruise, so either we'll be flying Westjet or Westjet won't exist anymore. I'd wager on the former.

In any event, the only thing we can do is let this play out and see what happens. Hopefully they don't go on strike.

We have a WDW trip booked for the May long weekend. Flying WestJet. Kind of stressed out about this. I know they say not over the long weekend, but still. And we've got another trip in July. Hopefully anything would be settled by then.

Not sweating yet. Flying latr Aug. But all those at end of month im crossing fingers for ya all

My trip is May 25, I’m pretty worried about this. Even if they refund for the flight there’s other expenses that I won’t be able to get refunded. Not to mention the time booked off from work that I can’t just decide to change last minute.

My DH has a flight to California booked for May 31st with Westjet. I've already looked at flights with Air Canada for him. I'm not sure what to do. I read somewhere that if they do go on strike they will refund people's money for booked flights. But I'm not sure how close to the flight this will happen. So now I'm taking a wait and see approach.

I’m flying WestJet next week, set to come home on the 23rd... not sure what to do other than stay on top of the news for now. But there are worse things than being stranded in Disney I suppose? :upsidedow

I am nervous about this and somehow only learned about it a few days ago.

My brother is due to fly WestJet to come visit us in Ontario from BC on Saturday so he will get here just fine but how will he get home is the mystery.

My mother and I are set to fly WestJet mid-June for our WDW vacation and then I have another flight booked but that one is not until September so hopefully that will not be impacted.

Crossing my fingers that everything works out.

My daughter is supposed to be flying Westjet to the UK at the end of May, and my hubby and I have a flight to Vegas booked with Westjet. Fingers crossed they get this settled.
