I love credit cards so much!

I think I figured out a trick on the portal too...It seemed that if a certain resort wasn't showing on the search results (I always filter by Disney in the name) then I could search for the actual resort I want by name and it would then show up. Just something people can try before having to call if you are like me and hate calling places.

Omg! Thank you! this worked. I also think now the portal is less points then when I booked direct through Disney, so I’m going to cancel and rebook.

Thank you! I forgot to mention Amex Offers, which occasionally pop up with discounts to Best Buy, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc. that are good for buying Disney gift cards.

Yes! In just gift cards our haul hasn't been big because we only have a couple AmEx cards. But straight gift cards we've saved at least $50 just through the offers. That's a number of mickey bars :D
In the spirit of the budget board "every dollar saved is a dollar towards Disney", just in one year we've saved easily over $200 using the offers on things we'd have bought anyway. That's just the cash offers, we received many more MR points from points offers and the points earned on the purchase. Between both accounts on a conservative estimate we earned over 20k MR points in offers last year.

Just another point to use benefits of the cards you have to the fullest too.

Yes, that seems to be a problem with many of the expedia owned sites. I've had to do that with orbitz several times. So I don't think it's something Chase has control over to fix. But at least we know now to try it on any travel site, since holy cow, how many sites can expedia own now and still not be considered a monopoly?

Has anyone paid car loan payments using plastiq with CIP and/or Amex? Also, what category is this and, for CIP, does it matter which category you choose for the 3x. Also, does it matter whether it is paid by check or electronically? I have paid taxes, club dues and utilities with no issues so far but I thought I’d check first on car payments.
A little behind, but I have used Chase Visa cards to make payments to Toyota. AMEX gives an error that it is not allowed. I haven't tried to doctor the name to get around it as I think @wendow mentioned
You and the couple others who post over there are quite brave. :worship:They scare me over there. Glad you got so many clicks in return for sticking your neck out there.
r/churning is a scary place! I occasionally post things and try not to take it to heart since it's the internet :) And then oftentimes @Albort comes along so I see a friendly face

@amalone1013 my discover deposit finally posted today. I can't believe it took 6 days! Sheesh! Hopefully Citi goes quicker!

ETA: What bank are you doing next?
Crazy long! I opened with $10k, and was going to move $8k in and out twice... but yesterday I pulled $9k back to Ally and I'm just going to do the whole $15k back to Discover.

I'm not 100% on what to do next... I'm thinking a Discover account for DH since you don't have to maintain the balance. Then maybe Chase for DH... I did that last year because I needed a new bank in general, and at the time we had decided we'd open him accounts for their bonus too, and after the time period merge them into a joint account now that we're married. We just haven't done it yet. And I'm torn making it our main bank because of the bonus churning. But DH isn't excited about bank bonus churning... hopefully he'll come around like he did with cards. Also thinking about Citi. Need to make decisions :)

Then I've got Memory and PNC on my radar for CC funding, but not until I pick up a new card.

I did the full $25k at once and now that I know how slow it is, I am sure glad I did!

That is a good point on waiting for memory until you have a MSR.

Anyone have the AARP card? Seems the wording was removed about the minimum redemption to redeem rewards (cash). I cashed out a couple months ago and I will try on my next statement.

Is there some reason everyone seems to be going for the Cat. 8 package? Is there an advantage to that over going for a Cat 6 and then upgrading the cert later if you want to stay at a higher Cat. property?
for me it's bc thats the category I need for the hotel I was booking

Any credit cards offering quarterly promotion cashback rewards on utilities? (I seem to remember selected Chase Disney Visa cardholders got 4% on utilities for one quarter last year.)
Anyway, My homeowner's premium is due soon and couple others. I want to get the most cashback I can for these larger bills. (I remember insurance was listed under the Disney Visa offer last year. )

TIA.

Wow, I'm back with another question about the CSP authorized user bonus. I know it says add an AU and make one purchase within 3 months to get it, but I always kind of assumed they wanted you to make one purchase with the AU card even though they didn't say it. I ordered the card last week but haven't made any purchases since the order (last one was posted a couple days before), however, I have 5000 points pending that aren't accounted for anywhere. So is that it? They pay you to get a card that never gets used?

Checking in from Moab! This is our last day here, moving on to Cortez CO which is just outside Mesa Verde NP. In the 4 days we've been here, we've been to Arches twice (managed to make it to Delicate Arch on the first day), did an ATV tour on Hells Revenge (thrilling!), scenic drives and saw Dino tracks and petroglyphs, and a day at Canyonlands NP/Dead Horse Point State Park. Slightly exhausted, but it has been amazing.

No hotels so far, we were at a condo just south of Moab. We're staying at BWs in Cortez and by the airport. Maybe I'll do reviews on those.
I LOVE Arches NP.....

I think points purchased on other accounts and then transferred to yours is fine. Those other accounts wouldn’t be able to purchase a gift of points for you because your account already bought points for the year.

FMI: How to buy more than 30k Starpoints
I'm considering buying some but I need Dh to buy them and then transfer, his acct is down due to lack of use, and he has to call to reactivate, I wonder if he'd be subject to the 14 day rule for purchase since it's not really a new acct

Do you guys use your CIP topay for anything or stick to business related things only. When DH CIP comes in i was thinking of paying our Disney trip with it.
