Your door reader needs a new battery. Your magic bands are fine.i need some insite. We have bands from day 1 up to present day. Suddenly today out of nowhere a ton are not working for our room but for fast passes and park entrance and charging they r. They said at front desk we have too many? We have 40 total.

I’ll ask about the door when we get back. It’s very random with which work and don’t work. Some are newer. Some r older. That’s why I didn’t think it was the band itself.
People have reported that if they have a lot of bands active there tends to be glitches.
I would suggest deactivating some.

Agree with PPs that it's the door.
We have had issues with our bands not working at all, anywhere, and were told by the front desk it was because we had too many active on our account. They deactivated all the bands except the ones that were on us and that resolved the issue.
Technically, you are correct, but the underlying problem of the door is too many Magic Bands. I saw a great post that went into a lot of technical detail describing the problem, and I will try to summarize the concept. And of course, I can't find that original post.
The door is a battery operated device that has limited memory. When there are a lot of Magic Bands, the memory in the door can only 'hold' so many of the codes. That is why some MB will work, and others will not work. When you visit guest services, they can send more information to the door lock to handle the additional codes.
I think this is why sometimes it will blink green, but not open the door. The door is trying to go through all the codes to see if it is a truly acceptable code to actually unlock the door, and it just times out.
