*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

I wouldn't make plans under the assumption that they'll extend the additional Hollywood Studios EMH into September; they did something similar with Pandora during the summer after it opened last year (Pandora-only evening EMH most days through July and August) and it didn't get extended into September then either.

It's always possible, but I wouldn't go making/changing plans under the assumption that it'll happen.

I don’t assume anything with Disney. This isn’t my first rodeo lol

We are there for two weeks so we have plenty of time to see everything we want...I was just stating that 7 AM EMH would definitely be nice.

I'll be there 9/8-9/15... staying at French Quarter, and hoping for no hurricanes this year. ;)

I'd originally planned on making that first day just a day to hang out outside the parks; spend some time looking around some of the other resorts, maybe, then hit Boma at AKL for a late dinner (which I've already got an ADR for). But then I got thinking: my flight's scheduled to arrive at 10:05am; allowing for the Magical Express, hotel check-in, and the park buses, I think I could easily get to a park by 1 or 2pm. Spend 5 or 6 hours hanging out there; leave about 7-ish to get to my 8-ish ADR at Boma.

Well, Southwest just pretty much ruined that plan: they just informed me that they've made "schedule changes" and now the earliest I can get to MCO is 12:30. :( Doesn't really seem worth the cost of the ticket upgrade if I'm only going to get 3 or 4 hours in the park (and I really don't want to cancel that Boma ADR; that's something of a tradition for me).

Yay! My FP day is two days after your’s!

And you are absolutely right...time flies after the 60 day mark up until like the 20 day mark for me.

We are getting there!
Yes! Those last 3 weeks are killer. My son is starting kindergarten around 3 weeks before our trip so hopefully that makes things go by a little faster lol.

Well, depending on what tickets you already have, another day may be only $10/person. I would totally pay that for 3 or 4 hours in the park!

We have a four night stay at Wilderness Lodge from Sept 19 to 23rd and I'm already nervous that we'll have trouble getting fps for the new Toy Story rides. I had trouble getting Flight of Passage fps for our four day trip in June and got lucky getting them on our fourth night. But I don't want to wait that long for Slinky Dog Dash. ;)

Who else is "Disney training?" I am trying to walk at least 60 minutes a day. I started at 73 days until Disney and have done 12 days straight. I don't want to miss more than 7 days out of that 73 if possible.

Tonight was perfect Disney training weather as it was still 90 degrees and ridiculously humid at 8:30 PM. I looked at the weather earlier this evening and it was 16 degrees hotter here than in Orlando! Yuck! I'm in Michigan, so that just does not seem right.

We're in Tennessee with a temperature in the upper 90s and humidity 70%+. It's miserable, but I'm looking at it as endurance training as well.

UGH! So frustrated..I'm about to throw my computer through the window lol! I've been trying to make fastpasses for the last 30 minutes and I've managed to make only 3. The system is being so horrible. Luckily, I did get FOP and SDD so at least those are done but grrrrr..I am getting so mad.

Yep I have to walk away for now. In my frustration I got SDD and FoP for the wrong days. I'm grateful to have them, don't get me wrong. I'm just irritated that I can see what I really need and cannot confirm it. Hoping I can make corrections later.

I've seen reports that some people had better luck switching internet browsers. Maybe that would help?

After all the drama I was able to secure Slinky (1 at night 60+4 and 1 in the morning 60 +6). It's available just about anytime after day 4.

Also got FoP for day 5 evening and day 7 morning. I've made multiple changes in the last half hour with plenty of choices.

Got FoP for 9/5 and SDD for 9/6. Had plenty of availability and had my choice of pretty much any time I wanted.
What a morning that was tho :surfweb:
