Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

?? Do the BCV studios have a regular coffee pot, or are they the coffee pod style?? (In some Youtube videos, looks like a regular coffee pot...)

Just want to confirm so I can pack appropriately...

Thanks!

You need a basket style filter. My understanding is that coffee does not have to be in a pod.

I see that the villas provide “coffee pods” in the room. Does anyone know how many? We’ll have three coffee drinkers in the room for a week. Should we bring extra pods ourself?

In a DVC studio it's a 4 cup Mr. Coffee pot. In the 1 or 2 bedroom DVC villas, it's a 10 cup Mr. Coffee pot. Either one takes filters and ground coffee, pods will not work (unless you mean the teabag style pods that you dunk in hot water or that work in a coffee pot, not K-cups). We pack filters from home and have creamer, sweetener, and ground coffee delivered with our grocery order.

K cups won't work. You can ask for more coffee during your stay and they will bring you more pods. That's what we did and had no problem.

If you're staying on points, they can charge for additional coffee outside of what is provided during housekeeping (which is a full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towel service on day 8 for a stay of 8 or more nights. If you stay fewer than 7 nights you get trash and towel service on day 4 only). Additional coffee, sweeteners, and creamer is $3 per request.

Do they have coffee where you refill your mugs? I was going to bring my own cup specifically for coffee since I can never get the coffee taste out of the plastic mugs.

2. On a totally related note....(read: Disneymoon)
There are Keurigs in rooms at YC, yes? Does anyone know if they ever stock them with decaf tea? Chamomile would be perfect.

3. The fridges at YC are unable to maintain ice, yes? We each recently got YETI water bottles and they will keep even Disney fountain water ice cold if there's some ice in the bottom. We plan on carrying them in the parks with us.

Most have a small 4 cup pot that really only makes 2 cups. Call and ask for a full size coffee maker. Bring your own coffee and filters. I normally purchase Star Bucks Via instant coffee as we do not enjoy using their coffee pots at all and don't want the hassle of cleaning it out. I just use the coffee pot to heat the water.

Thanks! Glad to hear it! (I already have coffee and filters packed and ready to go - got worried when I read about the pods...) : )

I'm sorry if this has been covered, but I'm finalizing some plans for my arrival a week from today (!) and can't seem to find the answer (or my brain, or enough coffee in the world).

Are the boats to HS running early enough for the 7 AM HS opening?

We took the boat when we were there in July. We were on a boat that arrived around 6:30 am. We also walked one day...just because we wanted to.

Great, thanks! We aren’t going for EMH but my father decided he might want to and I really didn’t want to send him out to wait for a boat that wasn’t coming :sail:

Does anyone know if the kids cheese pizza at the beach club marketplace is a flatbread or regular type pizza? I know...weird question..hehe but thanks!

Got it last week, still flat bread.

I *thought* I saw chamomile in the market place last week.

Regular room is just a fridge. We just filled our thermos with ice every am and added water and our containers held it cold for the parks (and 2 days later-park every other day)

Newbie here. We are considering booking at YC or BC next year. I'm leaning toward YC because of the refurbished rooms. Is there any real difference between the resorts aside from rooms? They share all amenities and transportation, right?

You will find some great information on this topic on the first page or so of this thread. But if you’re asking for opinions, I usually tell people that they operate under the same management, share amenities, are very walkable to each other – if you walk along the pool, and are usually similarly priced. It really depends on which design asthetic you prefer. I ask people, “Do you like beachy decor with fish, starfish, sand, and shells? Then stay at the beach club!....Do you like sailboats and ocean liners, and nautical ropes and navy blues and golds? Then stay YC!”
The only other major difference between the two, in my experience has been in who stays there. Since YC is considered a convention hotel, you are more likely to find grown-ups there, and hence it is more quiet… Or at least it has been on my multiple stays there compared to multiple stays at Beach Club. This does not mean the children aren’t welcome at YC, it just means that due to the fact that there are more conventioners there, I have always found it to be kid-friendly, but just lacking in children compared to BC.
I hope this helps!
