We're staying at PORFQ for the 8/30 event. Any idea what other resorts we will share the bus with (other than Riverside)?

Plus, this event is at the start of the Labor Day weekend, so I'm thinking it will sell out?

We are also going 8/30. I am really hoping it is not a sold out party!!

My unscientific prediction. 9/20 sells out before 8/30, but 8/30 sells out at some point too.

Someone bookmark this to bring it back up if actually comes true! :-)
I think they both will sell out .. the good news is that the latest sold out ones have had good reviews :)
We’ll see ... it’s always been predicted to sell out on dates I’ve attended and never have lol!

Has anyone been to this event twice, when it was sold out and when it wasn't? Could you tell that big of a difference? I wonder what the magic number is here regarding the number of tickets Disney will sell to this event?

I went on March 1 (sold out) and July 21 (not sold out) and for some reason the July event seemed much more busy. It’s kind of hard to compare because it really depends on the flow of the crowds. It’s possible Dh and I went with the crowds in July and away from them in March. I honestly don’t have an answer for why the non sold out party seemed so busy.

I'm going on 8/30, and am staying at the Dolphin. Anyone know if all the Epcot resorts shared a bus?
They have put ALL of them on 1 bus. YC, BC, BWI, Swan and Dolphin
We always get off at whatever resort gets dropped off first and walk to wherever we stay

We’ve only done one, the sold out 8/4. Right at the beginning around 10:15 we were the only ones back by Gaston’s, we ran into a cm who said there were about 3500 people there. The park didn’t feel completely empty, except at that moment, but most rides were walk on a.

last night 8/11 we only waited about 10 minutes for 7DMT and walked on Peter Pan. Last week 8/4 mine train took us 25 and we never went on PP because of the line. The crowds felt thinner. We walked to BTMR about 1240 and there was hardly anyone over there - no one walking in front of us on site. We finished the night with getting on splash about 1255. Snacks between 4 of us included 6 ice creams, 5 drinks and 2 popcorns.
I’m thinking the wrist bands have to have helped. Of note we did see people about 1045 trying to get on IASW that didn’t have party tickets and CMs seemed to be really watching things. All CMs we encountered and cheery and having fun.

eta - we walked on everything else we rode including space mountain, which was down about 1 1/2 hours before park close but magically reopened during DAH.

So apparently the laynards swapping was more of a problem than previously thought, time will tell for sure and good for Disney for fixing the problem! I just hope they don’t do away with the laynards altogether because they make a nice takeaway. I have been been every year since it started and have never encountered the crowds/lines that has been discussed on the boards recently so something was causing it and maybe that plugg has been corked! I just bought my ticket for 9/20 because the last two events have sold out and 9/20 seems to be a much discussed date on the boards for some reason. I got shut out in Jan by waiting until the week of to buy my ticket never thinking it would sellout, lesson learned! I just don’t like buying so far in advance not knowing what the weather will be but I do not want to miss it again. I think it is one of the best ideas Disney has come up with in awhile and I am not a fan of upcharge events at all! Having said that I will wait until much closer in to buy the Halloween ticket, I have only recently become a fan of it! This will probably be my last trip for awhile because of the ever increasing prices, crowds and because of FP+ having to plan everything thing so da**ed far out ! It is just too much work to plan a WDW vacation and that’s not right in my humble opinion. So I will make the most of this trip, even extending it to two weeks using my timeshare. If you ever consider staying off site look into Vacation Villages at Parkway, it leaves Vistanna in the dust!

To me, planning is half the fun of the trip! :teacher:

For those that enjoy it, yep, it can be. I've found that FP notwithstanding, there's little planning needed. And if you wanted to rope drop/ride stand by the really hard to get FP, like Slinky, 7D, and FoP, you could even do without preplanning FP. If you wanted to. Because the rest of the FP are easy to get same day, though not ideal times.

Anyway, you are right, there are ways to do it both ways, with planning, and without, depending on what you like.

Oh for sure! Just different personalities. Which is why it's great that it can work out both ways.

Are we thinking there will be more DAH dates for January? When do you think they will go on sale?

Jan-March DAH dates were announced/went on sale 9/14/17, just for context.

Seeing as 5 of the 7 Jan-Mar 2018 dates sold out, they introduced a series of 11 summer dates for the first time ever (3 of which have sold out), Jan-early March is an ideal “lower crowd” time to dangle something like this to entice many of us to make trips, and you continue to see a generally positive tone associated with the event... my money is that you’ll see winter 2019 dates announced here at some point.

Ultimately who knows, but that’s my hunch.

All the DAH events up to this point have been close to each other. Usually within a week. I'm guessing both 08/30 and 09/20 will be sellouts, since they are not within 2 weeks of any other DAH events. Really happy to read about the last few sellouts. Seems like even with a sellout, it is still a great event. I can't wait for 09/20. :)

Restaurant reservations can also be a time investment. Especially if you miss 180 day window. I can't think of any other vacation where I need to book dining reservations 6 months out. The touring plan reservation finder saved me for this trip.

Never, ever do we book regular ADR more than 24 hours in advance. And we eat only TS.
