*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

I appreciate it. Will it likely be stand still type of traffic on early Saturday in TN? The earliest we can leave is Friday late morning and since we are in the northeast we likely won't hit Tennessee until very early Saturday. We have a potty for our young son but I don't know what to do for bathrooms if we're in gridlock. I have 24 hours to decide before we lose any refund possibility. We were going to rent a car but will probably wait until the day of for that.

I wish the media relesesd some info about road closures/detours, traffic and shortages. If anyone knows where I might look for that, please let me know. Thank you :)

Now, go plan your route to Disney. You don't have to cancel it. :drive:

When will you be coming through Atlanta? Same offer. If you need a hot meal or a place to stop. We're about 5 min from I75 and 7-7 1/2 hours to da world.

For any of you displaced from the hurricane(s)...our door is open.
Thats so nice of you. We are going to leave Ohio around 7pm Friday. Depending on traffic, should get to Atlanta between 7-9am. If you hear of any traffic jam ups, if you could post on here, that would be great. Hoping to get to Disney by dinner time Saturday.

Well I'm checked in for my flight, and besides my makeup and prescription meds, I am all packed! (We won't discuss how DH and I have 4 suitcases to check :rolleyes1)
I am still holding my breath a bit in regards to my flight making it to MCO tomorrow night. It's been such a horrible year for me that I don't know if I'll believe I'm there until I'm literally in my room at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

During those hours, there’s alllways traffic in ATL. Saturday might not be so bad, though. Use Waze to navigate through. It will take you the best route.

I used to live near ATL and it can be brutal. Now we live in Nashville and even though I know where I’m going, I use Waze. It has saved me from sitting in traffic jams many times by automatically re-routing me around it. If you don’t already have it, download it now & learn to use it!

On a Saturday, you should be good, but I don't know yet how much more traffic will be coming through ATL. I will be umpiring games Saturday (starting at 8:30 am), so I'll try to check traffic before I leave. Since there will be more than one of you, you can take the HOV lane (far left lane on I-75 once you get to I-285). That should save you some time. I don't see any major events going on downtown this weekend, so that will be faster than taking 285 around).

A couple more hours here at work and then it'll be time to head to the airport - I've had the Magical Express loop on in the background all day and have essentially mentally checked out for vacation! :cool1:

Me, too! I'm checked out at work and ready to go home and pack the last bag (mine). Kids are all packed. Just gotta do my clothes and our toiletries. Disney-bound in 17 hours!

I suppose I'll do a trip report...

Got into MCO at 6:30AM. Stopped at Dunkin' for coffee and headed to DME. No one at all there that early. Got on the bus and waited about 10 minutes when another couple got aboard and we took off. Not 5 minutes into the journey (so about 7:15AM) I got a Room Ready text. Wow! I had put in a room request through Touring Plans and got the exact room I requested. And early!

Stopped at registration to decline Mousekeeping and get the Gift Card and I was in the room by 8:10AM.

It's stupid hot and muggy but beautiful with the sky filled with big clouds. I'm diggin' this vacation so far!

Oh, Yay!
Good for you......:flower1:
We are flying to MCO on Tuesday, 9/18.
Hoping all is good.
Pretty much know it will be hot and muggy; just blessed there is no hurricane involved in our WDW vacation!!!!
Have a safe and excellent vacation all!!!

Dead, dead, dead. OKW is super quiet. We may have been the only people to walk Boardwalk today.

Terrible drink at Big River Grille. At first, I lied to the server and then I decided to say something. Brought it to the bar tender who looked at me like I was pond scum. I felt this small _

Late comer to the world of alcohol - not too much experience so wasn't sure if I was just being difficult.

And then the server came over and said, 'the whole team hates that drink'. Apparently, the restaurant changed suppliers and process. It was a really, really bad fruit punch taste. Server said it used to be hand/home made by the bartenders with actual fruit and real wine. Switched for something else. Still, not recommending the food. Flavors were awesome. DD's chicken not quite cooked. I had one cold shrimp.

Spent day at spa. That's a whole different review for another day.

Last night here and my husband and I just enjoyed drinks in our patio at Poly. Loved this week, but tired and ready to go home. Don’t think I can do September again, waaayyyy too humid for this Coloradoan.
