How does Chase Pay through Samsung Pay work? Do I just use my CSP in Samsung Pay and it counts as Chase Pay? I have both apps installed and the card loaded into both. Not seeing a way to choose Chase Pay while in Samsung Pay.

u need to go through Chase Pay and there should be a button that says use samsung pay.
i can confirm this will trigger chase pay at chase pay accepted stores, but will not work as chase pay else where.

ETA: Some add'l thoughts. We aren't flying anywhere right now, so are MR's even good to me? What about the Hilton biz offer? I don't frequent Hilton's alot but we've thought about staying in one Gatlinburg, TN (we try and go there at least once/yr).

We live in Nashville and go to Gatlinburg a decent amount so I am pretty familiar with the Hilton brands there. My favorite was the HGI on the strip. It is only a few years old and walkable to everything in the main downtown area. There is a doubletree called Park Vista...gross. It feels old and dank in there. Unless it has had a major refurb since I was there last I'd say avoid. Too bad too, b/c the indoor pool area is nice. Even my DH who travels for work hates having to stay there, but sometimes he has to for a conference.
I believe they've built/rebuilt another one or two Hamptons since the recent fires. I may check that out for our next visit.

Soooooo, RMN kinda works for its intended purpose. I just went to a Big Lots that is near where I work (that I have never been to before, but if they're giving me $10 off $20, I'll check it out - see RMN work!) Its a big store full of junk, but I managed to spend $20 on decorations for the halloween party I just agreed to host for my little one and stocking stuffer type Christmas stuff that was already on the shelves. Yes, it is still only September. None of it is very high quality, but it was less expensive than it would have been at the party store or Amazon, and works for what I need - so a net $10 well spent, I say. Ok, I spent a net of $13, but still!

I don't usually shop there, but I wanted to use the RMN offer. I found the sparkling ICE drinks my DS likes for 75 cents each. I usually pay $1 at Stop and Shop so I just stocked up on $20 worth of those!

On chat with AMEX right now about the Walmart Grocery offers not tracking on my account or DH. CSR asked me to share the name of the offer I was referring to - went into offers to copy and paste and the offer isn't there anymore? Logged into my account and the offer isn't on my Hilton Biz anymore.....! Anyone have this offer track for them? If you haven't used it, is it still showing in your saved offers?? I've never had a saved offer just disappear before! I'm almost positive it didn't expire until November, right?

I used the offer on my DH’s Amex and it still hasn’t credited either. I just checked and it’s not on his list of offers anymore either. But I wrote down that the offer date expires 11-15.

Mine credited some time in the last 24 hours. It just says Walmart online grocery $10. Not sure the offer name. Sorry. FWIW, it took several weeks to credit.

TLDR: when you're ready to attach a Marriott travel cert have 45 mins to an hour set aside to do so, even if your cert maps to the right new Marriott category

I attached my Marriott 7 night travel cert to a reservation today. Thankfully I had a Cat 9 which translated to the Cat 6 I wanted just fine. I saw availability for the whole week online prior to calling. Omg that was painful and nothing even went wrong. Phone call took about 45 mins. For the first time ever I called the right number right off the bat. Followed the instructions here ( https://frequentmiler.boardingarea....iotts-phone-prompts-to-book-a-travel-package/ ) and the first person I talked to was able to help my this time. After about 25 mins on hold someone answered. I told her what I wanted to do she got the details and put me on hold, came back like 10 mins later to check-in with me (I was happy about that, I was beginning to wonder if I'd been abandoned because they didn't want to deal with me...), put me on hold again (and maybe one more time? you lose track eventually). She had to cancel my current certificate, reissue a new cert under the new category system and book the hotel. Sounds kinda simple laid out like that but it sounded very complicated for her end. She told me I might get emails about all of this, I might get a reservation confirmation saying I paid points but not to worry because she attached the cert.

I just checked in on flyer talk an hour ago to see the last few days worth of info. Seems like for every successful upgrade attempt there are a couple unsuccessful. I just don't have the patience to deal with multiple phone call attempts. I wish they'd get their act together.

So I have a bit of a dilemma.

We only have a few more days left in September and Q3. We have about $600 left to max out on our Chase Freedom. I’m seriously considering letting it go and not maxing out the 5x UR.

If I were to max out the CF, it’d be with GCs from Walgreens. But we’re already floating a lot of cash in GCs and we’ve actually been trying to spend that down.

I’m also working on MSRs for the SPG Lux and Biz Plat, so I’ve preferred to use those cards to buy MCGCs at grocery stores instead to take advantage of the last days of the Plastiq Masterpass promo.

Plus, I have the CIC, which earns me 5x UR on GCs at office supply stores and Gyft year round, whenever I need it, and not limited to this quarter. Third-party GC prices and selection are pretty much the same. And although fees may be higher and denominations lower on prepaid cards at office supply stores than at Walgreens, OD/OM/Staples are frequently running deals on VGCs and MCGCs. Even if I really jump on these deals, I doubt I’ll ever hit the $25k max limit on the CIC’s 5x UR category.

With next quarter’s CF bonus category including Chase Pay, I still have the opportunity to earn 5x UR on GCs from Best Buy and online at Walmart.

And with the PRG set to earn 4x MR at supermarkets beginning 10/4, there’s another opportunity to buy GCs with a significant bonus.

Thoughts?

We haven't maxed out either of my cards. I gave one to DH to use for gas when he is traveling but he only remembers 50% of the time. Otherwise it would've maxed out easily. Boo. The other I've been using for gas and the Walgreens/RMN thing.
I'm not going to top them off with GC b/c I have been getting much better GC deals recently than just 5x, plus I can get more for a better deal q4 on the CFs like you said.
So...you're not alone.

GAH! I am so frustrated with CHASE right now over these URs and Disney!!!! :badpc::badpc:

So I've figured out we could stay at Yacht Club and Grand Floridian using the Disney VISA discount for $0.52 more than our Agency Exclusive offer!!! I was pretty pleased thinking I saved a lot through the Excl. offer but now...I'm so frustrated. IF I could've booked using my Disney Visa for the deposits and then transferred to Chase it would cost about $650 in deposits and 252k in URs. Instead of I have $4,433 in cost and no good way to use URs other than at 1cpp.

I know it's stupid to sit here and say what if or complain about changes I had no control over...but this is just so frustrating.

so I just realized the cancel policies are quite good for this..... I haven't canceled anything SPG except on points before, and never MArriott...think it'll be ok?

So, whats the violence/ickyness factor with Jack Ryan? I'm kind of a wimp about blood, so I like to have a heads up before trying a new series. Also, how appropriate would it be to watch with a teenaged girl? We're always looking for something to watch together, but its kinda tough to find stuff that works. We did Lost in Space, which worked well. K, now I really sound like a wimp! DH and I watched a bunch of the Americans this summer (while our teen was away), and I thought that was good (although the ickyness factor got to me a few times). That is not a show we are watching as a family anytime soon!
I refuse to watch violent shows. If I want to hear about that stuff, I can turn on the 6:00 news. No thanks. Needless to say, DH and I don't watch any shows together.
I loved the Mrs Maisel that was mentioned here. Thats up my alley. Parenthood, This Is Us...etc. Those are my type of thing.
I'm currently addicted to Call the Midwife. It is sooo good. Maybe look into it. It would be fine for your teen too. :)

Question for @calypso726 or anyone else who has had the Aspire card for a while. When my free weekend night certificate makes it to my account, where will it show up when I am looking at my account page? I've been looking to see if I can find it, and there is no link that seems obvious to go find it. Thanks!

I’d have to check when I get to a desk top but if memory serves it was somewhere in the my account page or my upcoming stays page. It does take several weeks to post the the account. I made MSR on the day I applied and it was weeks before the free weekend night posted.

Same, just jumped over to announce it when I saw the notification on my phone... hadn't even read the email. But since I got a call while I was typing, I decided to check it out.

It's 10% back for the month of Oct (10/1-10/31) - 5% back up to a max of $400 at Shoprite when checking at with Chase Pay on top of the 5% CF quarter for Chase Pay purchases.
Now the 5% is on top of the normal 1% if you 1) forget to activate your quarterly categories or 2) max out the combined categories during the promo period ( o_O ) for a total of 6%.

Edit: and for the ShopfromHome folks it works online too.
Dang, none in TN. I see some in north Alabama and somewhere btwn here and ATL. Maybe I can hit one up on the way to a hockey tournament.

Anyone know if I can buy Disney AP at AAA stores with disney gift cards? I see them online but only cc to pay.

Any other suggestion for the best way to purchase an AP...discount-wise?

oh, and PS- sams online is out of the $150 dis GC packs. :headache:
