I love credit cards so much!

If I had a legit business reporting through Sch. C or Sch. E I'd probably report the greater of my Household W2 Income OR my Household AGI on my 1040. IF you ever needed to prove the number then it would be very easy.

It's a Sch. F so huge swings between cash and accrual. Hopefully they would accept accrual adjusted financials in lieu of tax rtn. if it ever came to that.

When I got my CIP in Aug I def used gross. Do you think it will throw a red flag to apply for the SW pers using net numbers? I feel like gross revenue on the CIP was needed bc I feel like they would want to know est. inflows and outflows to estimate a credit need? Idk?

Ooooo Schedule F - not one I work with as much, LOL! Farm Income!

Personal and Biz card apps are so different. A Biz app wants to know your gross revenue as they can use that to somewhat approximate what level of expenses you may have.

A Personal app is concerned with your net personal cash flow. Thus I'd recommend the following:
  • If your business regularly and consistently makes money then use your AGI
  • If your business regularly and consistently loses money then use your W2 and ignore the biz
  • If your business is very inconsistent then I'd also go with W2 and ignore the biz
Likely we're way overthinking this. Just put down that you make a crap ton of money on the application and get approved! LOLOL!!!

My dream job! TA in general but Disney TA would be awesome. That is always my answer to the question "What job would you want if money didn't matter?" But I am a scaredy cat to leave my stable job even though I hate it half the time!
@wendow - I seem to recall the commission was in the ballpark of 10% or less. Do you have any insight on how that works? Is it on the total package cost (room, tickets, dining) or do you only get paid on some components?

EDIT: And I guess of that 10% a portion goes the the "agency" before the commission is paid to the person.

Hotel discounts wouldn’t help, I use points.
Are those prices for the regular (non hopper) tickets expiring in 12/2019? And which AAA? Mid-Atlantic?
6 day hoppers at UCT are $463 and 5 day non-hopper are $393

The ones I attached are not hoppers, but you can add it. It is the aaa south website.
I haven't specifically compared to UCT as I was looking at APs and UCT didn't seem to have them. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever ordered from UCT. I have used park savers though.

Hey YNAB friends- how do you put bank bonuses in your YNAB? I don't want to treat it as income for this month... do I just do it as an off budget account?
I just set up the accounts as off-budget accounts. I transfer all my bonuses into one account...discover. When I shuffle money around between these off budget accounts I don't input a transaction, I just go in and update the overall balance. So basically there is only one transaction line for each of my accounts that I have opened for bonuses. That is the initial transaction and that is the amount I edit as I shuffle. When I need to use it, I will transfer into my trip category as an actual transaction...those are broken down by specific trip.

I think you can only join locally. My understanding is each AAA does their own thing. When I worked with a TA, she was Mid Atlantic AAA Disney Specialist. I don’t think Chicago AAA has WDW tix, but I’ll check with a coworker tomorrow.

Since we've been discussing the Disney Visa additional 10% today on Jan/Feb, etc.....figured I'd C&P this here for those interested:

The following resorts are receiving an additional 10% discount through a Disney Visa:

Old Key West
Saratoga Springs
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Grand Floridian
Yacht Club
Caribbean Beach
Corosnado Springs
All Star Sports
All Star Music

Any other resorts...the price is the same on Gift of Magic OR Disney Visa - no difference.

Ha I would love to know what you find! Help me justify leaving my job LOL
I come into this fully knowing that you probably can't earn a liveable wage doing this. Here's some of what I've found:
  • You're going to latch on to an agency and they'll get a cut
  • A room only will probably generate a 10% commission - the agency is gonna take 30ish% of that
  • So you're looking at roughly 7% of the room cost
  • Tickets only pay commission on 3 day tix or more - it's an 8% commission I think
  • I don't think they get anything for the Dining Plan
A Big thing is you don't get paid until the travel is COMPLETED. So if you start now and people are booking 6-12 months out you don't see cash until then.

As a hobby, sounds cool...Trying to support a family or replace a REAL income...sounds scary :)

I think 2 Hilton Biz cards is a no-brainer since they don't add to your 5/24 total. Honestly the 100k no AF Hilton card offer is pretty attractive right now too. 100k points for $1,000 spend and NO AF! Hard to justify a 5/24 slot for it...but that would go a long way towards your rooms in Japan AND you'd earn those points super quick due to the low MSR.
I agree. I'm not sure why so much hesitation on the 2 biz cards. We keep suggesting it and you seem to not like that answer. :P To me, amex biz cards are like free points. Use the points for however many nights you can and book the other nights on URs. This is an easy one.

Yeah....that sounds like what I expected! I'm about 2 years out from making partner at my CPA firm so leaving to be a TA just isn't in the cards!

So we've stayed at Poly, GF, and BC. And as most people point out, YC and BC are essentially the same other than some theme-ing. I just love to overthink this stuff!! LOL!
Not to worry. I have been overthinking my pre-cruise nights too. I think I am going with CR-GW using discounted GC. Cant use URs:headache: and swan doesn't sleep all of us. I haven't ever stayed offsite, but I was sorta considering that Hilton DTD. We stayed there on arrival night years ago when we drove, but never for longer than that. I am just an onsite kind of girl. I should really branch out.

Congrats - that sounds so fun! I know I should really pursue the whole Disney TA thing some day. I could really help people (and I think I know more about Disney than many of the TAs I've encountered!)
I have thought about it so many times too but what I am really good at is finding a deal. And often that means sending them to a diff TA or 3rd party website. Soooo, that wouldn't work well for me getting paid. :teacher:

Then you have those who book and find a better offer somewhere else...

Sorry!! Had to. :rotfl2:Nice knowing you all!

In your scenario - absolutely! You want to earn those points fast.

You could do something like this:
  • You apply for Hilton no AF card using DISchurner link
  • You REFER husband to Hilton no AF card using YOUR link (hello extra points :))
  • You could then apply for Hilton Biz using DISchurner link
  • Maybe REFER husband to Hilton Biz with YOUR link
Also once you have 1 Hilton card you can refer to all Hilton personal cards. So if you want more Hilton points from your 1 card you can refer husband to numerous cards. Of course you want to be sensitive to how many 5/24 slots you devote to AMEX Hilton cards - it may not make complete sense.
So Hilton biz and Hilton no af are different right? Is one the ascend? I just want to make sure I have that right.

Will it show on my account a referral link for Dh?

Is there anything I should know before applying. I know the cip had a certain way for us to fill out the application.
