What has been the most remarkable thing a stateroom host/hostess has done for you?

My sister and my niece could not have been happier with their hostess. My niece was even a little annoyed that they work so much. It was her first cruise, and she knew they came in in the morning and made the room up, but then the turn down service at night. She wondered how much time they get off in between.

Anyway, the 2nd morning of the cruise, my sister and niece came back to their stateroom after lunch. My niece went into the bathroom, and yells out "OMG!!!" My sister, thinking something is wrong runs to the bathroom door. My niece comes out, holding her hairbrush, mouth agape in awe. She said to my sister, "she cleaned all the hair out of my hairbrush." My niece has long hair, and you can imagine what her brush could look like if she hadn't cleaned it off in a while.

Needless to say, they were quite impressed with their hostess, and our dining team.

We had a host provide Disney Bedding for both the pull down and the couch bed even tho it was just DS. DS liked playing on the top bunk but slept on the couch bed.

You said your sister was a little annoyed about how much they work. This is what I do. A couple nights a cruise I tell them my room is good nothing needs to be done. Gives them a little extra time that night. 14 rooms that night is better than 15. I just tell them I just need the navigator. They come back with the navigator and chocolates and are very thankful.

Our last trip was 3 girls, me, DD and DGD.

We had lots of electronics....cords everywhere. Our host used little velcro things and tied all the cords up for us. So much neater.
He also put magnets on some of our 3D creations and hung them on the wall.

Princess sheets for dd when she was 6 yrs old on our Alaskan cruise. On another cruise I went to our stateroom during dinner(seasickness). When our hostess came to do our room I told her I wasn't feeling great and she didn't need to do our room. She came back a little bit later with some apples and ginger ale for me.

Yes, two weeks ago on the Magic same thing. They must provide them with those little Velcro straps to wind up the cords. Every night my long phone cord was neatly coiled and secured with a strap and unplugged from the wall. I wonder if they are instructed to that so they don't trip or something.

I had to think a lot because we've had amazing hosts on both cruise lines we sailed on but on DCL, one night we had a storm (and rough seas), the lounging chairs kept banging on the door (window) and we were scared it might break it at some point.

Our host Bart went on our balcony to secure the chairs. He came back in the room a little bit drenched but with a smile on his face.

We tipped him extra for this one.

Every morning I would leave my curling iron to cool down on the new heat resistant pad that now have in the staterooms and Von would tie up the cord with the velcro. It must be a new thing across all the ships. I loved it.

We absolutely hate the way that hotels tuck sheets into the bottom of the bed so tight that your feet are squashed when you get in. The very first thing we do in every hotel we ever stay in when we get into bed is yank those sheets out. Our stateroom host on our first Med cruise must have noticed this after our first night. Every night after that - for 10 days - she only lightly tucked in the sheets at the bottom. We never had to yank them out again. We left an additional tip for her. I've never had this done for me before (or had anyone even recognize how annoying it is) and never had it since on either DCL or at any hotel. That is attention to detail!

Sometimes it's the little things.
Yep. On one of our Mexican Riviera cruises, on the way back up the coast, it was really chilly out. I was sitting on the pool deck (in the more covered area) trying my best to cover up with a couple of towels. Our assistant server was doing busing duties that day, and he saw me. A few minutes later he appeared with a blanket (not one of the smaller ones now available on deck, but one of the ones that they use in the rooms).

On the Fantasy in February 2016, I had gotten a tad sunburned on my excursion with Captain Bob in St Maarten. After my shower, I’d gotten dressed and was heading to the gift shop on board to get some after-sun gel and ran into my Stateroom hostess in the hall. I knew I was coming right back, so I told her I was just running out for a second and would be back as I did not want to interrupt her cleaning my room. I did not say why. She said “You wait here. I will be back.” 5 minutes later she was back with like 10 tubes of the gel that Concierge would have gotten.

We sailed for my 50th Birthday and on my actual birthday, our stateroom host put a large round Mickey "Happy Birthday" magnet in our room on the wall across from the bed.
On a different cruise, another host saw that a piece of our luggage arrived with the wheel broken off, he took it down to his friend who could fix it for us. That was awesome and the greatest thing for us, just the thought of carrying it off at the end would have been in a pain in the butt.

Never had them before.....maybe they have been fairly recently added. This was April. DH and I were on one in Jan and no little velcro ties then.
I do like them

When we returned to our stateroom after the show, we found this on our bed. She lit up the swans with the lights from the Frozen deck party.

On our anniversary cruise to Alaska last year on the Wonder, our stateroom host Alex not only did this, but created a lighted path from the door to the bed, and also sprinkled rose petals all around. It was incredibly touching, and not the only special thing he did for us on that cruise. We were sure to leave an extra tip, include him prominently by name on the comment card, etc., but perhaps the most special moment is when we tracked him down to thank him personally. I'm not sure whether he wasn't used to being thanked for things, but he actually had a few tears in his eyes when we expressed how much his efforts meant to us.

I was cruising solo on the maiden voyage for the Disney Fantasy and one of the many gifts I received was a glass champagne flute. I only received one since I was alone (which was fine) and when I ran into my stateroom host I causally mentioned that it would be nice to have two so I could have a set and a day later another champagne flute magically appeared.

I may be wrong, but my understanding would be two thirty min breaks. I’ve seen crew on other lines say many positions are 12 hours on with those breaks. I’ve heard some say more and some say less, depending on position.
