Is this what it feels like to be fast? W&D runDisney TR 2018 (Updated Dec. 18th)

But they didn't for the half so that's why it doesn't make sense to me why one course changed but not the other.
They have more mileage to work with for the half. The new bus loop we ran through for the half is further out than the old one.

Rope Drop Pro!

Since I got done so early/fast with the 10K I decided I would rope drop Hollywood Studios again! This was a non-EMH day so crowds would be a little different. There was a wait at the turnstile but not too bad. We actually were let inside DHS before the official park opening and led right to Toy Story Land.

I hopped in line for Slinky right away. Line stretched outside the ride entrance but it moved much quicker than the day before. I was actually at the boarding area 10 minutes before the park was scheduled to open.

Off to Alien Swirling Saucers I went next. This would be my first time doing this one.

The queue details were fun.

My chariot awaits!

The ride was fun for what it is. I enjoyed the music I definitely think it would be more fun with other people with you for the whip aspect.

Onto Toy Story Mania to complete the trifecta!

IMG_7057 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Long time no see Mr. Potatohead!

IMG_7036 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Not my best score but not bad... I was best in vehicle.

IMG_2851 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

The exit was probably one of my favorite themed parts of TSL.

IMG_1273 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

No selfie but I did take a picture of the popsicle stick wall.

IMG_2495 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

So I completed Toy Story Land within 40 minutes of the scheduled park opening. I though that was pretty good.

One more DHS ride before I would head out. A favorite of mine Rockin Rollercoaster!

IMG_2041 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

I did single rider which was maybe 15 minutes?

IMG_6423 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

IMG_7078.JPG

Then I headed out and to the boat launch.

IMG_4829 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

IMG_6417 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

I got off at the Yacht Club stop and walked to Epcot.

IMG_3267 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Rats coming soon!

IMG_7763 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

And then it was time for a fun day of Food and Wine and maybe a Dis-meet up mixed in ;)

Up Next: Food, Wine, and Diser!

What kind of millennial are you, no selfie in front of the popsicle wall?! ;)

The guy next to you on RnRC looks like he really doesn’t want to be there.o_O Maybe he got talked into it by the little girl in front of him?

You have the best ride pics.

Technically I’m not a millennial! Thought my generation would likely still do the selfie.

He does look to be less than enthused.

Welcome to the Harambe Wildlife Reserve!

You got some awesome pictures!

That was to fly on the back of an Ikran!

Love this ride! I could probably do it over and over if the line wasn't so long.

I went to check out the chocolate displays next.

Those look good enough to eat. :rotfl2:

I then moved onto the Light Lab. Many talk about this place so I decided to check it out.

We never made it in here. Nothing on the menu really appealed to me so I wasn't sad to miss it.

I am boring and went with some chicken nuggets.

Hey! Nothing boring about chicken tenders. :rotfl:

Its 10K time people!

This looks like a lot of fun! I would love to do a 10K but I just don't think my ankle could handle it. I did do two 5Ks in one day, one at 8 am and one at 8 pm but I rested a lot in between the two.

By far the worst busing situation from runDisney I have seen.

Note to self, don't stay at Pop for races.

Oswald was out next so I had to stop!

Ah man, I want to meet him!

Remy was out and I have never seen him before so of course I stopped.

OK, this one I'm seriously jealous over!

We actually were let inside DHS before the official park opening and led right to Toy Story Land.

Ugh. I wish they would have let us in early the day we did this. But they didn't even start leading us back to TSL until right at 9 am.

The exit was probably one of my favorite themed parts of TSL.

Very smart of Disney to add the walls there for selfies.

Rats coming soon!

So excited for this ride!

Thanks!

I am planning on being at the Pandora DIS party so hopefully I can ride it all night long!

I would probably skip Light Lab next time.

I think this was just a random bad weekend for Pop. Everyone I talked to said it has never been like this there before. I am there again in January so hopefully things are better.

Remy and Oswald were some great stops!

I am surprised they held until 9AM. They have been letting in early from several reports I have seen.

The walls are actually gates so service vehicles can get through backstage.

Nice job knocking out TSL in 40 minutes! I feel like this is a huge perk to being a solo traveler. As someone with two young kids, I don't think I'd ever be able to get them on three rides in less than an hour. :rotfl:

Yeah being solo definitely helps. Even with kids I think you could do at least two at rope drop.

Nice job getting in all the Toy Story attractions! Rope drop really does seem like a good time to get Toy Story done without the crowds. I may try to do that Marathon Weekend, schedule permitting.

And I'm with you on the exit from Toy Story Mania - I loved it. So well themed! All the toys!!!

Definitely worth it if you can.

Food, Wine, and Disers!

I started off by going to Soarin as I had a FP.

IMG_7264 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

After that I headed over to check out some more food booths. Everyone talks about Canada so I had to stop there. I got the filet. It was quite good but a bit pricey for the size I thought.

IMG_8803 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Up next was France and the Creme Brûlée. This was probably my favorite dessert item of Food and Wine that I had. It was quite good.

IMG_9078 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

I went with another desserty item next in the chocolate Belgium waffle at the Belgium booth. This was really good too. I should've tried the fruit one as well.

IMG_0782 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Off to check out the Voices of Liberty next! They are a great aspect of Epcot I hope never goes away.

IMG_4819 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

I went to watch the American Adventure next. This was my first time seeing it since the changes. I will be honest it was seriously hard to keep my eyes open in a dark theater after three early mornings in a row and one more to come. I may or may not have dozed off a bit...

Then I headed out and over to Hurricane Hannah's for the DIS meet up! The lines to get back into Epcot were insane at this point.

IMG_2591 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

The DIS meet up was great! I met so many awesome Disers some of which I had met before and some which I hadn't.

I know I am going to miss some but @croach, @Capang, @Dis_Yoda, @Princess_Nikki, @bananabean, @Princess KP, @MommaoffherRocker, @mrsg00fy , @lovingeire , @Mickey Momma , and more I am forgetting.

I had originally planned to go do Candy Sushi at Epcot at 3:30PM but because I was having a great time with the Dis peeps and the Epcot crowds made me stay at Hurricane Hannah's. Some wondered if I would be charged to $10 no show fee but I never was so thats good I guess.

A group of us then had dinner planned at Mama Melrose. This would be my first time here. I got the Chicken Parmesan. It was pretty good but nothing spectacular. It was a nice meal with good company.

IMG_2895 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

I decided to stay back as I secured a FP for Alien Swirling Saucers before I would head out.

I wanted to see the land and rides with a bit of the lighting. It was still a bit early but they were turning on.

IMG_4949 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

IMG_6726 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Then I headed out.

The worry about Sunday was the weather the days leading up to the half. Rain was looking likely but it was going down a bit the closer we got. As long as the lightning stayed away we would be fine. Running in the rain obviously is no fun but we would make it work.

Flat Ryan was full Shenanigans for the half!

IMG_6478 by Ryan Teetz, on Flickr

Up Next: Rain... Shenanigans... and a PR?

I didn’t realize you skipped the candy making for all of us Dis’ers. It was a fun meet up! Glad you didn’t get the no show fee. Epcot crowds were INSANE that weekend.

All your photos of Toy Story Land are making me really want to see it in person!

I love when fellow Disney fans plan meet ups around races and can use that time to discuss the runs and Disney in general. I know for me, personally, I wouldn't have as much (not to say I wouldn't have any) motivation to train if I didn't have fellow runners encouraging me. Plus, I'm sure it was nice to be able to sit and chat and rest for a bit after two races.

Glad you had fun at the meet up too even if it meant missing Candy Sushi. I have the recipes if you need to learn how to make it.

Dinner looks decent as well for a nice pre-race meal!

You need to see Toy Story Land in the dark - it really is nice!

Yeah the crowds were not fun.

Definitely see TSL in person soon!

Yeah I really enjoy these meet ups. It used to be hard for me to actually get myself to go to these sorts of things as I’m rather shy in person but I’ve gotten more used to it.

Glad you had fun at the meet up too even if it meant missing Candy Sushi. I have the recipes if you need to learn how to make it.

I might have to try the candy sushi at home..:

Mama Melrose was a great pre-race option.

Luckily I got the chance to see it in the dark Sunday night before heading to the party.

Nice job on hitting the rides in TSL after the 10K. While I really enjoy Slinky Dog, I don't know that I'll bother with the saucers again. It was fine for what it is, but not sure I'd bother again.

All those food pics are making me hungry!!! Ready to hear about the half!

Yeah I agree on Aliens. It’s not a must do.

Half coming up soon!
