Priceline Express Deals

Hello. I also have AKL-J, but Aug 25 to Sept 2. Same great deal with 10% off. Is your confirmation in MDE Jambo or Kidani? Priceline says I have Jambo and MDE is showing Kidani standard view studio. I'm happy with the price but eager to get into Jambo house. Any advice or experience with this reservation?

Dang, my MDE shows Kidani. I’m not too upset, either would be great. But gonna talk to them about this.

is this AKL? I am fairly sure it is but want to make sure. July 1st to July 4. 4.5 stars. doesn't list a resort fee and taxes and fees add up to around 109 (around 17.1%). room rate 175 a night so grand total is 634.59. there was a pop up that said someone had just booked for 344 a night. on the page where all the hotels are listed it says it is 24% off from 230. I also don't see AKL listed at all on the page. I don't think any WDW resorts are listed transparently for those dates.

They are something like $30 extra a night normally. Not sure how it works when you add them through Priceline. Does disney wholesale take the payment?

Gaahhh, i think I finally have a good deal for my jan dates at AKL. Everytime I click it the next screen says "sorry, no longer available." This was happening the last couple days for CSR as well. Anyone have this problem and figure out how to get past it?

Also, a fantastic CM at Disney tried really hard for me and although she couldn't change it because it was a reservation that PL technically owns, she encouraged me to arrive with my PL reservation in hand and see if anything could be done at check in. Even though I know Disney magic happens (I have stories that give people goosebumps or tears) I didn't want to count on it so I kept trying.

yes. I cleared my history, tried incognito...nothing. I still have a couple weeks and there is loads of availability, so hopefully I get something eventually. I'd really like a deluxe over the mod I have booked.

It lists airport shuttle as an amenity, the Swan doesn't have the airport shuttle as an amenity does it? Could the listing be deceptive on purpose? Also there was no resort fee shown - though they might not show that anymore, correct? If that is the case, do you still have to pay a resort fee if they don't list it?. I'd rather stay at the Swan than AKL.

Resort fee always has shown up for me on Priceline when looking at an Express Deal on Swan or Dolphin. It shows when you choose your nights in a separate line after taxes. If you don't see it, I'd guess that it's not one of those resorts.

BTW thanks for the heads up on AKL in August! Booked with a 10% off for about $150 a night before taxes. Now just waiting for it to show in MDE.

I believe I’ve read that airport shuttle and the resort fees are often showing when not supposed to and vice versa for PL. Airport shuttle is consistent with HW. I’d be nervous to take a chance on that one. Maybe someone who has booked these 2 thru PL previously can check and see if it tells them, as that sometimes works.

ETA: but I think those 2 resorts are both the only 4 1/2 stars so if you are fine with either then go for it and let us know how it turns out. The pricing is just throwing me off.

You add them to Disney Wholesale and if there is a fee you will pay Disney wholesale not PL.

I think what you’re missing here is that AFTER she pulled the trigger and booked, Priceline sent her an email with her confirmation at Jambo House. Had Priceline sent her an email that confirmed she was at Kidani, she would have no issue after it posted at Kidani in MDE.
This is not a matter of thinking she got one hotel through opaque booking and got a different one. This is a matter of her reservation stating one hotel and MDE stating a different one.
I hope this clears that up for you.

I didn't miss it. I thought the big issue is the poster was 100% convinced she was booking Jambo. She thought there was no possibility of any other resort. You have to be willing to accept any hotel, in the zone with the amenities listed. A hotel with the exact same amenities, walking distance shoudn't be an issue. The fact that Disney or PL made a change, a day or two after booking, shouldn't have been an issue. Poster is lucky PL didn't just cancel the reservation and process a refund.

I've never booked through Priceline, but I'm thinking about snagging that $170 AK room in September. I've noticed that PL doesn't ask how many people are staying in the room. Do we just call Disney after the fact to let them know how many people there will be?

PL doesn't ask because you're booking for two people. It's up to the hotel to decide if they will accept additional guests and if there will be a charge. Regular hotel rules not apply. A hotel is entitled to charge extra for children, even if they don't charge extra for customers who book direct.
Not generally an issue in Orlando, hotels are geared to familes with 2 beds. It can be an issue in other locations. YMMV. Absolutely nothing you can do if the hotel says sorry, two guests only.

Thanks...I did read that in the small print after I posted my question. Still haven't booked, but I think I'm going to. If this is AKL Villas-Jambo House, as everyone is saying, there shouldn't be a charge for extra people anyway, as it is a DVC property. Although I know when doing PL Express Deal, nothing is 100% guaranteed.

A warning. Condo in the Bonnet Creek zone is showing free parking and airport shuttle. Canary suggests Wyndham Bonnet Creek. ITA. It doesn't say free airport shuttle. I don't know if PL would let you cancel, assuming property doesn't offer complimentary airport shuttle. Push come to shove they could comp Mears shuttle for 2 guests.

Any advice for knowing disney properties and or swan/dolphin on HW? I know you select Bonnet Creek and I thought I read disney properties list airport shuttles. But wanting to know more before I book.

Looking at June 1st ‘19 till at least the 3rd and any help would be appreciated.

Also watching PL using Hotel Canary too.

Quick question for anyone that might know. Anyone know the breakdown of the taxes and fees? Mine were just over $100 for 3 nights so it’s more than just the 6% plus 6.5%.
