Why do I hate this guy?

Look, I get it - Remy is fancy. Fancier than a lot of restaurants people visit in their daily lives.

But the overly-momentous look of dawning awe as the cloche is placed in front of you? C’mon. It’s fancy food. It’s not the meaning of life about to be revealed to you.

Yeah, yeah, I know. “Overselling it” is Disney’s stock-in-trade. And it’s not the actor’s fault he was directed in this manner, but still - it makes my left eye twitch.

And yet, while the fireworks are going, the same guy is casually walking on deck as if nothing is going on. He’s funny like that :

Still, not as bad as the photo of the little girl enjoying a cookie and a hearty belly-laugh with Santa all by themselves on an otherwise deserted Dream/Fantasy Deck 12.

Maybe he's just realized that his wife has booked them into a fancy restaurant and the look of dawning awareness is about the price, not the food  (It's kind of funny because I don't recall them using a cloche when we've dined there)

Well, when we ate at Victoria & Albert's for our 25th Anniversary, DH and I did look like that when they placed the cloches before us. It was pure elegance and such a treat for US. It was the most upscale meal we had ever experienced. We were excited to be celebrating and excited to experience every aspect of the meal -- including the presentation.

I don’t know about dinner, but in four brunches, I’ve never seen them use cloches, either.

I mean, if you’ve been in Remy long enough for the main course to come out, you’ve already experienced some pretty fancy stuff. Is a cloche - in and of itself - really mouth-agape surprising at that point?

I saw that look once, at Club 33 (a friend made reservations for us), when my then-husband saw the bill. I had *told* him that it was the price of a one-day ticket to the park for each of us, but I guess he didn't do the math ahead of time. :teacher::scared:

Or she just announced she forgot to book Rémy online before the price increase and that they’ll need to pay an extra 60 bucks when all he wanted was chicken wings from room service anyway...

Maybe his wife never lets him eat red meat, except when he’s at Remy. I would look at a steak that way too if I could only eat it once a year.

They used cloches for each dishes when we had dinner there in 2015. And we had two servers (one server each) to "reveal" both plates at the same time. A bit over the top ... but it was fun .:)
