Me either. I just got into MRs with all the hoopla about the Rose Gold Amex (well, again, not me per se...made my DH get it) and didn't want to miss out. Not quite sure how lucrative they are, but with all the talk about Disney Japan in the last thread, I think I have my sights on what to use them for.
Same :D I'm either cashing out through the schwab card or using them for Japan. My dh isn't quite as on board with Japan so that might be a further out plan and I'm cashing out MR's in the next year. Either way, I'm good with the plan and very happy I've been collecting MR's :D

I used this website and was online at exactly the time that tickets became available: https://l-tike.com/st1/ghibli-en/sitetop

That's odd that your airbnb host can't get them for you. If it were me, I would ask the Hilton concierge anyway--they know how hard it is for people outside Japan to get tickets and I suspect it is a pretty standard thing for them to get them for guests. I had to scan and email a form that authorized them to charge the tickets to my credit card; it seemed like this (getting tickets for guests) was a routine occurrence.
Thanks for the info. I’ll email Hilton and see what they say. They were very willing to keep our empty suitcases while we stay in Tokyo and Kyoto so maybe they can do this too.

When did you have to go online for those tickets when you did it yourself?

ETA: oh I see it says 10 Japan time on the 10th the month before. I’d have to figure out what time that is for us but that might be an option for us too. I was going to get our rail pass from JTBUSA but if I can’t get ghibli tickets through them I see no reason to

:offtopic: ...but on topic for @Haley R trip!

Major Lunch and Dinner Menu Changes Made at Kona Cafe, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

https://wdwnt.com/2019/01/photos-lu...disneys-polynesian-village-resorts-kona-cafe/
For some reason I didn’t get a notification about you mentioning me in this post, idk why.

THE STICKY WINGS ARE GONE????!!!! That’s a huge disappointment. I have no idea why they would get rid of them. I doubt I will like their new fire roasted ones. Man I’m so upset. That was one of the main reasons for going. I had the Korean bbq wings at f&w and hated them because they tasted burnt and they were “fire roasted” as well. I might have to talk to Dh about this one....

I haven’t been able to figure out how I’d use MRs either....since we don’t travel internationally or first class...those seem to be the best use and others here have booked great trips/flights ..
We are pretty boring and use our SW points+ CP flying to Orlando visiting my son and of course the mouse so URs and RR points work best for us

Next December get the schwab Plat and cash out. You can triple dip the airline credits to off set the fee and this year build your stash. I have over $9,000 worth of MRs if I decide to cash out. Either that or take the family to an international Disney park lol JFK isn’t that bad lol

We have a reservation here as well at the end of March. Boo on the price increasing :(

I hate when Disney changes menus right before my trip! I've had it happen enough times that I obsessively check the menus multiple times prior to arrival. I understand that there needs to be change, but why after I planned something so perfectly? lol

Tambu Lounge removed some of my favorites and I am still coping with that.

Ugh, this annoys me too. California Grill got rid of my Ribeye right before our trip and the flatbread pizza I liked. I didn’t enjoy our meal that much our last trip there. Change is good but I feel like CA grill needed another steak in addition to the filet.

Cali Grill is a big offender. I guess the signatures try to mix it up and keep seasonal menus, but why ruin a good thing?

Ugh! That ribeye was delicious! I had it last March and now its gone?! :sad2: Which flatbread? Rotisserie chicken? Loved that one R.I.P.

It happened to us last trip. We planned to eat at rose and crown but they took the steak off the menu which of course was what I planned to order. Idk if we should switch this reservation or leave it the same. I was super excited for some wings.

Thats the worst feeling.

Captain Cook's was trying out some new wings when I was there last month. I had never seen this there before. Not sure if its permanent. 'Ohana would be EXPENSIVE wings and it may be impossible to find an ADR there. Are there any other places you would be interested in dining at in the MK area (GF Cafe, The Wave, Whispering Canyon)?

Yay, partner in crime, @PolyRob, you changed your avatar too! Now I am not the only one :D

We did have an Ohanas ressie until a couple of days ago but I kept reading such poor reviews that I just could not justify spending $100+ for two people. I kept our Kona ressie. I will probably keep it but I still don't like change. I cancelled our CA grill too. Just didn't feel the cost was worth it.

Yes! Love the Wave and Whispering Canyon (though I am hearing mixed reviews now...), not been to GF cafe but that may be one to try.

I figured a new year and thread were a good time to change it up! Its been almost 3 years with the old.
I do enjoy 'Ohana, but I have to make sure I go there hungry in order to justify it :faint: Even with TiW I am pretty shocked by the bill (The Lapu Lapus also make a nice dent). I tend to do Cali Grill if I am celebrating something and want a cake. The CR pastry team is pretty easy to work with and I have always been very impressed with the final results!

All the WL dining changes make me sad :( I haven't had a meal there since the shenanigans have decreased. Hoping its good for an October meal!

Whispering Canyon has been a staple for us. BUT we love, love, love the shenanigans. Without all that, I'm not sure it's worth the effort of going over to WL. I'll be watching reviews for sure.

I think I’m just going to keep the Kona adr and go in with a positive mind. I don’t want dh to feel stressed because I always make things feel like they have to go perfectly. I know it drives him crazy sometimes
