RSR FP x 2

We were there on Friday with 9:00 opening. Our friends who had EE pulled FP for RSR at 8:25 for 9:55 - 10:55. We got into the park at 8:45 and pulled 10:50 - 11:50. I'm not sure how early they allow non-EE to enter the park, but we entered 15 minutes before opening and were able to pull fast passes right when we entered. I would get there as early as possible so you can get the FP early. We walked to Incredicoaster on rope drop and had no wait, so you should still be able to get a quick line ride in.

RSR was down most of the weekend because of the rain so that might be effecting the typically fast pass patterns.

So far in 2019, it’s pretty consistently running out by noon on days I’ve checked. Some of that’s because of shorter hours, but that’s not the whole story...
Do you think they are issuing less fast passes overall?

I suspect they may be. That article about Project Stardust that mentioned FP tweaks got me thinking...

What happens is that if RSR ever breaks down, or if another ride breaks down and loads the park with multi-experience passes, the RSR FP return gets crazy long later in the day as a result of those things. And then people complain. So they may be more cautious with how many FPs they’re releasing to begin with to minimize that.

I also think that there are simply more people using Maxpass and pulling RSR the moment they walk through either gate.

I just checked RSR return times - it's 10:45 am on a Tuesday morning in February, and all RSR FPs are gone.

WOW! And DCA didn't even open until 9am.

ETA: It's probably just because of the rain. Maybe more will appear when it reopens. Looks like the rain is tapering off.

I would check fast passes for RSR and Guardians as soon as they are available. If Guardians is a quick return time then do that because you can make another pass either 90 minutes or after your start time for Guardians has started (whichever is earlist). But if your wanting to do RSR 2 times that day I would do it first because they run out normally by noon

Important note about Guardians (goes for Indy and Soarin', too, as you're going to be in those buildings for quite some time) - as soon as you scan in, BEFORE you go into the building, hang back a moment and get your next FP. Once you're in any of those buildings you will not have a signal and you will not be able to grab another FP.

After watching the return times on RSR daily for the last couple weeks, I've abandoned all thoughts of getting 2 FPs, I'd rather enjoy quick returns on every other attraction in the morning than tie up my ability to pull my next maxpass. RSR has been gone well before noon every day I've checked, I really think they are distributing less FP's overall.

It is going faster and faster all the time, it seems. I’ve been checking in each morning to grab a data point on it, and the results are not encouraging.

I’m very curious about why it’s been running out so much more quickly. Anecdotally, the FP return lines seem the same as ever, so it doesn’t appear that it’s simply a matter of “less FPs,” although they certainly could have lowered the number a bit.

Any day it rains it can affect the fast pass for this ride, and there's been plenty of days with at least some rain. Although yes it does run out quickly regardless. But we were there when the ride was down for at least half the day as it was raining so much - surprisingly though it didn't seem to impact the rest of the park as much as I thought it would.

It was fun to just hang around in Radiator Springs when it was literally EMPTY!

That does look fun!

FPs ran out by 11 today, no rain. The first day I ever saw them run out at 11 was December 28. Even on exceptionally crowded days in 2018, they’d last until after 12.

I know it’s crowded today... but it’s not Christmas week crowded! So something has changed...

I wonder if they have reduced the # of fast passes that they allocate to certain rides though depending on fast pass return wait times. Having a fast pass line that's 30 minutes is certainly not a good experience and it inevitably increases the wait on the standby line. Now with MaxPass people are able to pull those fast passes without having to get in any line or go to the machine or have someone run over from DL to get a pass - it's click and done. MaxPass is a $ maker for them and they likely want it to seem worth it to people?

Does anyone have insight on the SR line for RSR, i.e. how long to get through during the day and how long at night on a weekday let's say? I'm going mid December (schools will still be in session).

We are here now and have used SR for RSR consistently for the last 4 days. Day time SR is about 10 minutes or so AM, 15-20 minutes afternoon and at night it’s 10 at most. We clocked it last night and it was 4 minutes! FP have been nearly impossible first thing without tying up Maxpass for 90 minutes in the AM.

That's sounds great, thank you! You've convinced me on Single Rider for the days I'm solo.
