Have you received an email from the IRS that its been accepted yet? I filed ours on the evening of the 27th (should've waited one more day lol) and HR Block says its been submitted and pending. I called the IRS today and they said they don't show anything from us for our 2018 taxes yet. IRS says its a problem with HR Block, and HRB says its because the IRS is backlogged, yet everyone else that I know is getting acceptance emails within minutes. :/

ETA: If you've gotten an acceptance email, what date did you file and how long did it take to get the email?

I filed with HR Block on Friday February 1st. Got an email on the same day that my Federal was accepted.

I filed mine on the 26th (I believe it was) and I got the money in my account on the 4th, which I thought was crazy fast!

I filed on the 23rd and it was accepted by the IRS on the same day. We owe $90 so not due a refund and can't speak to that.

I filed on the 25th, got my refunds back from my state and federal in less than a week. The only notification I ever received was a “thanks, you’re in line since the IRS won’t start processing until the 28th...”email from HR Block a few minutes after filing. I randomly checked the IRS “Where’s my refund?” page a few days later to see if my status has moved and it was there I saw that my refund was due to be deposited the next day (the 30th). Still never received any other emails from HR Block like I have in years past....


I was very pleasantly surprised at how fast it was this year (usually takes about 2 weeks compared to the 6 days this year!)

I talked to the media people at both H&R Block and Liberty Tax on the day the Federal Shutdown ended and they said the IRS was ahead of schedule on processing returns and refunds.

I submitted at 4:45pm on 1/24 and was accepted at 10:45am 1/25... So less than 24 hours later. I haven't received my refund yet though since I get both EIC and ACTC. IRS site says those will start being released mid-February due to the PATH

I filed on the 28th too. Return was accepted same day. I got the refund approved status last week. Refund just got deposited today.

I filed through TurboTax on the 28th and got the acceptance email the same day.

I’m pretty sure they just don’t know the answer as to why it hasn’t been sent so they are just telling us to wait. I’m calling the IRS back again tomorrow to ask if it’s possible for them to have it but not show yet and if not then it’s definitely on HRB’s side. I hate getting the run around!!

Finally got somewhere today. It is indeed on HRB's side. I guess there is a problem with some business forms and we won't be able to file until the 15th. At least they refunded my money until I can file again. :/

Just chiming in with our experience:

We filed Tuesday the 29th, it was approved Friday February 1st and the money was deposited on Tuesday the 5th. So 7 days from filing.

Same here. Filed HR block 1-28 and received email both state and federal were accepted same day.

I was in the same situation until today. Hopefully you aren't far behind.

The H&R tax software still shows that various forms continue to be updated and aren't yet final. Unless you are getting a large refund, I am not sure of the value in rushing to submit your return. If a form changes that impacts your tax, would you be required to submit an amended return?
