Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

I'm looking for snack options on DDP for breakfast too. We've used snacks for oatmeal; and sausage gravy/biscuits in the past at other resorts, and wondered if anyone could tell me if these items are still offered as snacks at any of the counter service options at Coronado? Heading there for the first time soon :-)!!!!! Have tried to dig around and find the snack options at this resort, but am not finding much information. Anyone there now, or been there lately who can answer this?

It's been about a year since we were last at CSR. Sorry, I don't have any current info. I recall seeing muffins, bagels, cookies/brownies, at one point churros( small sized, but fresh box...not the long ones like at the parks, but probably close to the same total amount).

We just found out that my husband has a work conference at Coronado in November. We already have a November trip booked and luckily, his conference leads into our trip, but takes away our resort day together (not thrilled, but I can manage at the pool with the kids). Not the worst scenario in the world, but now we will be changing up our hotel stay to save a bit of money. If my husband checks in on Tuesday and me and the kids get there Wednesday night, what do I have to do to ensure we are coded properly for MDE and receive Magic Bands? I want to be able to take ME when we land b/c we land late at night and I don't want to have to deal with our bags/Uber. I also don't know if a travel planner is booking for him or not, so I just want to be sure I'm in the "know."

The rest of our stay is at Dolphin so unfortunately, that means Disney won't transfer our luggage, right???

@JJ2017 everyone is starting the trip at Coronado? Just make sure your husband’s travel planner books you all on the Coronado reservation and you will get magic bands a few weeks before his departure. You can set up magical express for any point in his resort stay so it’s fine that you have a different arrival day. I always set up my own magical express through the web link (just google) but your husband’s travel planner could also probably set it up for you. Once you have his reservation number you can set it up. I would have the planner book you all on the whole CSR reservation even if you will only be there the one night - shouldn’t affect the room rate if your kids are under 18.

As I understand Disney does not advertise it but they will still transfer your bags between a Disney resort and swan/dolphin. Make sure to ask at Coronado but I have read reports of others doing it, no problems.

Thanks for this info. We will not all be starting the trip at Coronado. He will arrive two nights before us. Then we will all be together for one night and then transfer to Dolphin. This stuff gets so confusing and I'm always scared to mess it up. I'd hate to land at 11:00 pm at MCO and not be able to get on ME with the kids. Great I can book us separately. BTW - with that late of an arrival - will I be required to get my own bags?

Yes.

Sorry, I sort of meant will your and the kids’ trip start at CSR too, and it sounds like the answer is yes. As was already stated, you will have to get your own bags at that hour. Can you send some of the stuff with hubby in advance so you can just pick up one bag and not be corralling as much stuff?

have definitely already thought of that one! hopefully he agrees!

We are only in for one night. I have a standard room booked. Best suggestion for room location? We will be using the buses.

Thanks!

Hi, we're planning a trip to WDW for Thanksgiving and are considering the new Tower at CSR. Does anyone know about how far the main pool and the food court are from the Tower? I really like the look and theme of this resort, from everything we've seen online. Thanks, in advance, to anyone who can help! :)

From what I saw last week at Coronado, from the Gran Destino tower, the Dig Site pool is going to be a short walk across a bridge, and the main building / food court is also going to be a short walk. The tower is going to be the new check-in, so it's convenient to the current El Centro main building and convention center.

Hey! Staying at Coronado Springs for our anniversary in two weeks! Does anyone have any must try meals, snacks or drinks at the Coronado? I know the restaurants, just curious if anyone has any specific items that were amazing.

We really liked their cinnamon buns (snack on DDP) and we enjoyed the pool side bar for a quick service lunch.

Bus Stop 2 is our favorite because its the first pick up and first drop off, except for Disney Springs routes when its the second. Casitas 4 and 5 would be closest to this bus stop in a standard room, but I will warn that if there is a convention going on, usually those participants will get priority in the Casitas rooms. Whenever we have stayed standard and requested Casitas, we haven't been able to get it. We now book preferred so we're guaranteed a room in Casitas 1, 2, or 3.

This sounds so simple, but we loved the breakfast sandwiches that were hot and readily available at El Mercado. They were served with two decent size hash brown triangles. They had them with meat or no meat. They were always hot, fresh, the bun was good. It was just a nice breakfast option that I preferred over something like the bounty platter they usually have everywhere.

Going there in July. Can someone tell me if there is any shade around and in the main pool area? Want to know how comfortable would it be to be in the pool in the afternoon in the July sun

I think when the tower opens the idea will be for all convention guests to stay in the tower. My guess is that most people will request Cabanas to be close to the pool and tower and that the Casitas 4/5 rooms will be easier to get. Just an educated guess, but I think it will play out that way.

There are mature trees near some edges of the pool areas that provide nice shade cover. Coronado is one of my favorite pools for that reason.
