Agreed. I had cnn on for a bit they were the one's that said france but I didn't underatand if they were being sent later or already on the way.

I also don't understand why it took so long to get this sorted. If you know you can't read them once you find them I would expect someone to be on the phone until they find someone that can. I understand a lot goes into all that but I would think there would be enough people to handle it all.

Does make you wonder if it's a cost issue or a need issue as to why it can't be read. I can understand ethiopia not being able to but it's surprising that germany doesn't have the software to do it. Makes you wonder who all can actually read them and why. Also is this type of box used on different types of aircraft or just the max and that's the reason. I had thought they were more standard unless it's not the voice recorder but the other that's the issue.

On the app, there’s a red notice “Important You can change your flight” and goes on to say circumstances beyond their control may affect the flight and we can change our flight at no additional cost. Huh? Can’t you always change flights free on SW? And isn’t it a bit early to think weather will affect a flight 10 days from now?

The flight may have been scheduled on a Boeing 737Max8

Thank you to all for the responses on 4/24 for Chase business cards. I tried to like all the posts but what is preferred in this thread - Likes or tags or quotes thanking? I want to make sure everyone knows I’m grateful.

So I am at 1/24 with no MSR at the moment. I got a CIP January 13. My husband is at 2/24 with a CIP last month. We are almost done with that MSR. We are a family of 6 and hope to fly to Europe this summer. I’ve seen decent flights still available using google flights and that I can pull up on the Chase portal. I would book using my CSR for 1.5 redemption and I should have enough to completely cover. I know this isn’t the usual way many of you do redemptions but for such a large family, its super easy.

Trying to organize my near term apps. We fly from Miami so AA works for us.

Barclays Aviator Biz - me and P2. Maybe this is what we use if we ever travel alone. He travels to the West Coast 3-4 times a year for work on AA so he has some miles. If this works, i may focus on AA biz cards along with Chase.

I have the 100k mailer for AmEx Plat so I think I will go for that in mid-April. That will get me to 2/24 and get me started with MR points. Eventually I would want the Gold for the 4X grocery MR (I have 4 sons - they eat!!!).

In April, I want another Chase business card for the 50K UR. Which should I do first AmEx or Chase? Does Chase count 3 months from approval date or beginning of next month? In May, I would get my husband a Chase business for another 50k.

My husband is out of the AmEx game. Does this sound like a plan to keep the points earning going?

That’s been showing since yesterday and you could call to change for no increased cost. They weren’t specifying you had to be on a 737-max8 to switch, anyone could. Maybe just tonmake it easy. I looked to switch to the earlier/more expenive flight tomorrow morning but I saw it was on a Max8 and my 2pm isn’t so I didn’t switch. Thank goodness I didn’t now that they are grounded.

I did that offer for my biz card too. I did the dummy booking for my personal as well as dh’s biz and both have a $200 credit. But the points are less overall.

Chase looks at application date so if your 2-3 months from your last application and have reduced credit limits your probably fine wth another chase card

Just watched an interview with the Acting FAA director. Highlights

• They received new info today and grounded aircraft based on that. He said they had 3 mins of flight data before but today the company that had the satellite data was able to finish getting the raw data translated. (He had to dodge why the Canadians seem to have gotten the data first- I would lol if I wasn't so sad about this situation I just want to throw something at my tv). Also contributing to the grounding was information they're seeing at the crash site.
• Says it was his decision to make this call
• Obviously irate they don't have black box data yet. He thought they'd be able to pull data from the boxes already but due to the damage they need to be shipped out (as @Albort said- you watching this too? )

One would freaking think so. It's should be a complete embarrassment to Ethiopian having announced earlier today Germany would be getting the black box only to have Germany go "uhhh... we can't read that"... or did the thought never even occur to Ethiopian? Did the person arranging all this not know they have a new black box with new tech that can only be read by a few?

And why are they using tech so new (& possibly unproven) that no one can read it??

I only got the info about the boxes from CNN. I know which aviation experts to listen to and one of our local news stations has one on staff but when I need info now and not at 5 when it comes on I'll go to CNN which is better than TPG Though I know the guy from USA Today is joining them, I really have to question any aviation guy that goes to TPG to help them become more relevant.

I still want more crash site footage and to see more pieces of the plane. The footage I saw today was still from Monday, haven't they unearthed any plane pieces bigger than 6-8 ft long.

Maybe they won't charge the difference in fare if the fare is higher? That's what they announced regarding people changing away from Max flights prior to the grounding.

I checked and our flights are 737-800s. Also the notification is only on the app not website

People have been getting CIP #2. Best guess is they're not enforcing the 24 months language. That would be 100K with the referral from your DH. Check back when you're ready to apply though, make sure it hasn't changed.

How many total open credit cards? Including department store cards?

DH and and I each have our own SW Visa (black with a red "core") and a Disney Visa (no annual fee)

When did you open the SW cards...if you received the bonus over 24 months ago....you could cancel and reapply for a SW business and personal card to get the companion pass

Chase UR cards..CIP, CSR and CSP can also transfer UR points 1-1 to SW

I feel like I’ve become a little bit of a timeshare snob. I’ve come to love the Marriotts. Six of the scheduled weeks are in 2-3 BR Marriotts that I have traded in to for about $510/wk. I have a 2 BR Ko Olina on Oahu for December. We will have to see how airfare falls in to place.

What Marriotts have you stayed at in Orlando.......just finishing up our stay at Royal Palms..booked with URs..and wondering how other properties with 2 bedrooms are
