The CIP is not 80K points. What are opinions about it going up to the 100K bonus points like it has previously been? I can wait a while to apply but would wait if it goes to 100K.

Anyways, $161.03 on food. 4 nights 5 days. that included a popcorn bucket and refillable mug. Whoop whoop! I was sort of playing a game with myself to see how cheap we could eat. I did have $50 of groceries delivered that I didn't count b/c I would have had to buy groceries even if I had been home. Maybe I need to write an article on cheap eats at disney.:ssst:

Wow that’s amazing! I have spent double that on a single meal for just SO and I at Disney lol. Our next week long trip in June we are doing Yatchsman, Le Cellier, Shula’s and Il Mulino. plus some other cheaper table service. I’m hoping we keep food costs under $1000 for the week but I’m not optimistic lol

The Chevys locations in the city closed down a few years ago too. The only one that I know of that’s still open is in Colma/South San Francisco. Some good times were had at the one that used to be on Van Ness.

Yes, DH found that one accidentally one day when he was driving in the area. We haven't managed to get to it though. I guess it's a bit far for us to go to for a Chevys, but I keep thinking we will get there one day. Maybe I can combine it with a trip to SF. It was our go to place when it was really close to home. All the kids we knew loved it, too.

Did you try the link I put in there too?

I know @wendow has the higher offer on her support link on DISchurners. Not sure how she created the link though.

That worked! I didn't get the pop-up but it does say on the application about the welcome offer not available if I've gotten it in the past. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger if that's the case... Should I call AMEX and ask?

EDIT: deleted because @elgerber made a much smarter point LOL!

This would be awesome for you as you’d get 10k refer + 70k bonus + the base pts from the MSR + the statement credit. With the annual fee waived in yr 1. Pretty awesome!!

You won’t get the pop up until you actually hit submit on the application. I’m guessing you haven’t done that yet?

Main Question... What business card should I get next?

Cards opened in the last 24 months
02/19 BOA Alaska Airlines Personal (I meant to open a business one but opened a personal one instead)
03/19 AMEX Platinum
07/17 CHASE Sapphire Preferred (upgraded to Reserve last year)
08/18 AMEX Gold
10/17 CHASE Marriott Business (closed this month)

Other cards that I have:
AMEX SPG (thinking about cancelling this)
AMEX Delta Platinum Business
CHASE Freedom Card
Discover Card (I don't use much)

Currently I only have one business card and I want to open another one. Which one should I get. I was considering the CHASE Ink Business Preferred or the American Airlines Business card.

I put everything on my cards so typically I spend about 3K a month. We are traveling a lot in the next few months so it won't be hard to get the minimum spend. I pay everything off each month.

We fly out of DTW. Preferred airline is Delta since it's a hub.

Yes, Southwest services DTW

We've been using Marriott for our hotel but with the recent changes I'm open to other hotels. I have gold status at Hilton now because of my AMEX plat card.

Goal would be to get plane tickets and hotel stays. We are also DVC members, I don't know if that factors into things. We are a family of 3.

Thanks in advance

I would also get the CIP, because I value the UR points, especially since you already have the CSR. But I know nothing about Delta, so if those points work better for you then @SouthFayetteFan probably steering you right. Then maybe get the CIP after the Delta since it is also a biz and doesn't add to your count.

The reason for urgency around the Delta offer is because the increased offer goes away in about 5 weeks. Who knows when the increased offer will return. That CIP offer has been consistent since it’s intro in 10/2016 so it’ll probably be there waiting for her in a couple months :)

Was I the only one who did the Spark? 50k MSR just on one card! Combined with my DH first AA biz and finishing up on the SW cards for CP. I don't MS but I do have to pay large quarterly tax payments. That's the only way I pulled that off.

We did Spark x 2 (!), plus some others that I can’t even remember. Think I had United, a few Citi AA, the new IHG and maybe something else too? (Yes, I am a TERRIBLE churner right now and am not on top of my data like I should be!) We’ve finished most of them, still working on one of the Sparks. Luckily it’s over 6 months, so I don’t know if that ranks as high as some of the other MSR due to the long timeframe. Needless to say, our other cards have gotten very little love recently. I’m waiting for Amex and Chase to kick me to the curb with my mostly non-existent spending recently.

I was thinking the same thing about the CIP. I value the MRs and URs above airline or hotel specific points. But I also get the urgency when there is a good deal out there - we did the same with the LUX because of the increased points offer.

The CIP has only ever been at 100k UR when applying in a Chase bank through a business banker and there might have been some targeted mailers for people to take to their banker. AFAIK, there has never been a public 100k offer for the CIP.

Maybe you are remembering that the CSR debuted in 8/16 with a 100k offer? That lasted until 3/17 and then it dropped to 50k and has stayed there.

DD and I were dying at the Trattoria breakfast last fall!!!
We met Rapunzel and Flynn at the IG at Epcot a few years ago. I wouldn’t call him smoldering but sarcastic and funny
Not at all! I did a Friday am flight to Monday pm flight with a split-stay (2 nights Epcot resort, 1 night MK resort) just for some Food & Wine and MNSSHP! It was a great trip and I have the same thing already planned for this year. I say go for it :thumbsup2
i think our future trips might look like this. I feel like this is our last 6 or 7 day trip with hoppers as they are so expensive. If I can manage a CP, I’ll be looking at event tickets instead of hoppers.

I absolutely agree @ep1229 should go for the self referral on the Delta Gold Biz. I am actually weighing out right now if I should go that route for DH and wait on his second CIP. (Of course that assumes he is now in the Amex good graces and the pop up days are gone). For Delta hostages the Gold Biz offer right now is the best it has been.

I don't know if anyone ever got back to you, this thread moves really fast, and I think there's a lot of skimming to try to stay caught up so your post might have been lost.

Here are my thoughts in your situation. Have P1 cancel CIP*, this will free up some credit line, then P2 refer P1 to CIP in April (30 days after closing 1st CIP). After P1 has CIP#2, then P2 cancel their first CIP and P1 can refer P2 to their 2nd CIP (again 30 days after closing). Since P2 just opened a Chase card 2/19 it makes sense for P2 to wait til May-ish.

General guidelines seem to be no more than 1/30d, 3/6mo and 4/12mo for Chase velocity. Someone else might weigh in with different velocity numbers.

You've done a great job so far!

*Apparently holding a CIP doesn't exclude you from getting another one, it's just I figure you might want to reduce CLs anyway before applying...P2 will have their AF coming up soon anyway.

Thanks a lot for your help—I really appreciate having a second opinion!
