@DisneyMandC that is odd about your Hyatt Visa. Didn’t you get it on the email mid January? That is what I did with referral to DH. I messaged to confirm spend when DH finally got his card and his is the 40/20 miles. Of course now I am weighing out if it is worth it to put $3000 more for just 20,000 more points. But then I do hate to leave points on the table. He has until end of August to make spend though so some time.

We did Spark x 2 (!), plus some others that I can’t even remember. Think I had United, a few Citi AA, the new IHG and maybe something else too? (Yes, I am a TERRIBLE churner right now and am not on top of my data like I should be!) We’ve finished most of them, still working on one of the Sparks. Luckily it’s over 6 months, so I don’t know if that ranks as high as some of the other MSR due to the long timeframe. Needless to say, our other cards have gotten very little love recently. I’m waiting for Amex and Chase to kick me to the curb with my mostly non-existent spending recently.

If you were working on MSR on both Sparks at the same time (any point in time), then you are the new WINNER!

No prize, just bragging rights.

The CIP is not 80K points. What are opinions about it going up to the 100K bonus points like it has previously been? I can wait a while to apply but would wait if it goes to 100K.
Wait...didn’t your husband get a CIP recently?? He can just refer you and you’ll get your 105k points that way (20k + 80k +5k).

The CIP has only ever been at 100k UR when applying in a Chase bank through a business banker and there might have been some targeted mailers for people to take to their banker. AFAIK, there has never been a public 100k offer for the CIP.

Maybe you are remembering that the CSR debuted in 8/16 with a 100k offer? That lasted until 3/17 and then it dropped to 50k and has stayed there.

Was this true in the fall? I ask for the reason that I applied for the CIP in the (Chase) branch with a business banker, but only got 80,000 URs. Should I be calling about another 20,000 URs? Did I ever mention that this banker was a churner? She was telling me how many cards she manipulates to gain points for free travel. I just nodded like I had no clue that could be done. Wonder if she is on this board :rotfl2::rotfl2::goodvibes

To my knowledge the 100k BRM offer ended in August 2018.

We often talk about how the CIP (with spouse link) means a SUB of 100K URs. Maybe that's why people think there is a 100k SUB (not breaking it down to see it's really the 80k + link of 20K + spend)?
I’d like to assume that people are doing enough research that when they speak of the 100k CIP that they know what they’re talking about.

I also realize I am assuming way too much of people in thinking that...:rotfl2: Do your research people! :P

EDIT: I will continue to not recognize sub as an acronym. It will remain a tasty sandwich in my lingo :P

As @SouthFayetteFan said, that offer had ended by the fall. You might have been able to match at the time but I'm honestly not sure how that would have worked.

I think my Chase banker (not a biz banker) is a bit of a churner as well :D She is not into Disney though so pretty sure she isn't on this board. She is awesome though and was the first to suggest to me that my occasional ebay selling qualified me for a biz card.

Wow that’s amazing! I have spent double that on a single meal for just SO and I at Disney lol. Our next week long trip in June we are doing Yatchsman, Le Cellier, Shula’s and Il Mulino. plus some other cheaper table service. I’m hoping we keep food costs under $1000 for the week but I’m not optimistic lol
HAHA I felt the same way. Dining is always a big part of my trip! I'm definitely going to Il Mulino in April. I am still deciding between Yachtsman, Shula's, or Flying Fish. It may hurt to do two big dinners where I can't use discounted Disney GCs if I pick Shula's. I guess I will just use my CSR lol

i think our future trips might look like this. I feel like this is our last 6 or 7 day trip with hoppers as they are so expensive. If I can manage a CP, I’ll be looking at event tickets instead of hoppers.
It was so enjoyable! The events are fun and unique and theres so much to do around the resorts, especially this time of year. The only negative part was getting back to reality sooner. lol

Where in WA is/was there a Chevy's? I've never seen them here or outside of CA for that matter. Not sure I'd go, though I do remember their chips being really good.

All the Chevys near us closed a few years ago. We are still sad about that. And yes their chips were really, really good.

That's them! There used to be one in Aurora and we ate there a lot pre-kids (we lived in Aurora for 5 yrs). They must have closed cause I've not seen them when I've been over that way.

It was in Lynnwood over by the mall. We were entertained watching El Machino make tortillas lol

This was over 14 years ago though...

There is a Chevy's very close to Downtown Disney in Lake Buena Vista. It's right across 535 from Hotel Plaza Blvd in the Crossroads shopping center.

There are also a few in Maryland - I occasionally go to one in Annapolis.

Ok - I really don't have that big of an issue with SUB...but...had to share this:

Well, we do have a legit business so that certainly helps. But I was more just replying to @Psychodisney because I know back when some of us signed up for the Spark we had commented on doing it at the same time and I didn’t want to leave the question unanswered about who else was doing it!

So Chase sent me a message back and claims that I do not have the SUB for another 20k Hyatt points with another 3k spend... so now I’m torn. I have no proof that’s what I signed up for since it didn’t show you the SUB on the support link page. I don’t know if Chase isn’t just wrong or what... but do I really want to spend another $2500 to not get anything else?? I’m torn on what to do.

I could Venmo, but then it’s like I’m spending $50+ to move around my own money...
Hard to say what to do in your situation...I tried to come up with advice but this seems like a personal decision. Do you spend a little money to try? What would those points be worth to you? Are you factoring in the base points you'd earn vs. the Venmo spend? You would at least get some value to offset the 3% there...

The Chevys locations in the city closed down a few years ago too. The only one that I know of that’s still open is in Colma/South San Francisco. Some good times were had at the one that used to be on Van Ness.

:teeth:

ETA: I lived on California & Van Ness for 3 years, and this was one of my spots!

Wow! you guys are awesome, thanks for the advice! I hit accept (AMEX Gold Biz) and did not get the pop up and approved immediately. I hope I still get the bonus! How do I find out for sure?
If you didn’t see the pop up you’re good! Congrats!! You should try to convince that husband if yours to jump in as a churner “light”. LOL!

If you didn't see the pop up you should be good. There have been reports of people that didn't get the pop up still being denied the SUB. You can call and ask what the deadline is to meet your MSR, that should tell you for sure one way or the other.
