Navigator Debate is in the survey

I also hope the paper ones remain available, and would like for them to have an opt-in choice to have it delivered to the stateroom each day. I loved coming back to the stateroom after dinner to a blanket animal, chocolates, and paper Navigator describing the next day's fun. I also like to fully unplug when I'm on vacation. I stare at screens often enough during my daily life. On cruises it's nice to read the old-fashioned way.

SAME. We really enjoy looking at the paper Navigator before bed and highlighting what interests us...every family member has a different highlighter color (thanks DU for the flower-shaped highlighter with all the colors!)

I just answered the email questionnaire after our cruise last week. Having a paper Navigator is so much easier to read to help organize the next day's activities than the small, single column app. We got ours at Guest Services after getting nothing on our bed that first night. However, if they take away the chocolate treats and towel animals, I will have to have a serious talk with the head Cheese. The app is handy for checking menus in the night's MDRs...about all I use it for.

Isn't that funny, I did the post cruise survey as well today (we got off the Wonder on Friday) and this question was NOT part of mine.

We used the app a lot and I didn't miss the paper navigators at all (totally thought I would).

I got our survey today and answered that I liked both, then it asked why. I like the app but it was hard to see the whole day at a glance and there is a giddy, tangible feeling when you get it each night. I missed it.

Our questionnaire was very long, took about a half hour to answer. It came by email.

Who knows, maybe they will "listen to guest feedback."

They might do so but you may also have to accept that the guest feedback may be the opposite of what you want. Presumably why they're doing a survey. We didn't use paper ones at all for the last two cruises and I would have preferred not to have one delivered to my stateroom since it was a waste IMO. We solely used the app which I found considerably more convenient and I liked that I could look at other activities later in the cruise as well as the menus. Just having the one day printed one was less than useless as far as I was concerned. I know lots of people feel differently on these boards but that may not be reflective of everyone. DCL is not the only cruise line to go this way.

On our cruise this past March I really missed having the paper navigator, and I went to guest services everyday to get one as I didn't think to ask our stateroom host for one and I didn't mind the exercise, as I find it easier to look at all the activities etc on it then I did on the App....I guess I am old school :)

Yes I had the same thing, came by email and it took forever to complete!!! But no, I didn't get one question about the navigators. Strange :confused3

Us too! Before boarding, I expected to be at GS everyday for the paper version. Didn't go once. The app was very easy to use and I loved to see what was coming up later in the week. There are a few characters my kids haven't seen yet. I was able to see their schedule to determine the most convenient time to visit then save to my plans to get a reminder before the event.

That seemed to be the primary focus of our questionnaire...strange!! Maybe they only asked random people and you aren't random enough...work on that!! Ha!

I didn't even get a survey at all after our trip (it's been over 2 weeks now)! Is that common? It seems everyone else gets one...

I like the app (for the most part) but I also really like the paper navigator. If forced to pick one or the other, I'd probably say to keep the app (I liked the menus there, mainly, and I would assume it will improve over time). But, I don't see why both isn't the default. The app simply does not replace the ability to get an overview of the day and compare everything going on at various times, which you get with the navigator. Plus, I usually see things on the navigator that I miss on the app (where you have to scroll through everything linearly). And, there were many times i didn't want to have to carry my phone, but felt forced to (mainly due to the messaging more than the rest of the app). It would have been nice to "unplug" while on vacation, but I couldn't really do that!

Paper for me. On our WBPC this year I woke up one morning and the entire 2 week voyage was one day off both by date and day of week. It was very early (5am) IT was resolved in about an hour. The menus are handy but, they were also incorrect twice on that cruise. My main objection remains the desire to unplug. It seems everyone is buried in their phone all the time at home. Connecting to family and other passengers is so much easier when there is no screen time.
