I know many are frustrated with Citi today...I’m the opposite lol...

  • My expedited Citi Biz showed up (overnighted) - YAY!
  • This card was approved 3/21 so it was OVER 3 weeks to get the card
  • I activated with no issue
  • I setup a new online account for the card - again no issue (WOW - after reading here I feel special)
  • I then chatted with Citi to just share my frustration of having to wait 3+ weeks for a card and being misled by their phone reps twice. My boy “Rexline” comes back with an offer: 15,000 miles for the trouble!!! “I hope that this will show you how truly we apologize for your issue”. Needless to say - I accepted...quickly!!!
So that’s pretty awesome. I still managed to get the card in time for my state and local tax payments due by Monday. And now this signup is worth 75k bonus + 5k base + 15k courtesy = 95k miles!!!

Quicker to push or pull for Discover savings deposits? I’d like the deposits to post quickly so I can recycle them and reach the 15/25k.

Awesome! Yes Aruba can be super expensive so the savings on points is amazing. Upgrading sounds like a no brainer for sure!!!

Things to do:
Pirate Cruise - leaves right be the Marriott. This is a more adult pirate cruise. Run punch, ok snorkeling, a rope swing

Kukukanuku bus- a booze bus that takes you to local Aruba bars. picks you up at the hotel - a blast!

El Gauchos - downtown about a $10 cab ride. Seriously one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!

Bungaloe beach bar - on other end of beach near the Hilton but worth the walk. They have happy hours and bands/ karaoke etc. the best staff so friendly and just a fun atmosphere.

Hopefully you like to eat and drink cause that’s all we really did!!!!

Kukukanuku was one of the most fun nights of my life!!!! Definitely agree.

Thanks for all that. Just looking to chill by the beach and eat and drink and shop. Both kids are of drinking/gambling age down there, so they will think they are cool.. Is it close to lots of places to walk to? I remember shopping there but now exactly sure where we were. Lots of stores...

And I'm sure you can get better deals on drinks/food outside of the resort also. Someone said to get beer/alcohol at the liquor store and put in a cooler to bring to the beach instead of paying their prices for drinks.

I did Keys to the Kingdom and yes seeing the utilidors was awesome. On the Undiscovered Epcot tour it didn’t have the novelty of going underground. It was literally just out this door and here is a bus stop with CM’s smoking, waiting for their bus, a little miserable. We did see the costume department which was neat. I guess my problem was more of I work in a place where there are signs that “your person can be searched at any time” signs are up. I don’t like to see WDW the same way. It also felt like we were invading their personal space.

My cousin moved to FL and has worked for Disney for almost 20 years. It has been a good career for her but the magic is most definitely gone.

I still would love for my girls to do the college program if they could, but I have absolutely no desire myself to ever work there at all!

You get it. I worked at Disney Store for a hot minute. When we closed at night, the person in charge had to 'frisk' us to make sure we were not shoplifting anything home with us. If it wasn't for the fact that she was absolutely apologetic about it and loved the job, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have tolerated these rules as long as I did. On the other hand that is my only retail experience and I got more out of it then I put into it for the few months I kept this job. I probably worked twice a month for a few hours at a time, so not a big part of my life. I had learned about it from some teachers that worked part time, and thought it would be fun. It was fun but not fun. I got in a trip to Disney during this time that I had already booked before starting and got to use some benefits, plus purchase DVC. And, I got a lot of free pins as they would give you some plus put extras out for you to take.

Being a guest is the fun part. I'll stick with that.

He is just too tall for the showers. I really loved staying at Disney for $100 a night.
Wait the values have shorter showers? We have never stayed value, but I’d assume there was a standard there. How tall is he?
Exactly. And the cashout rate for MR's is 1:1. So, I will have almost all of the cruise paid for with MR point / giftcards. I would use UR's with the CSR but they are not taking any cruise booking right now after 2019, so not sure what is going on with that. Used that for my last Carnival cruise - cashed out 200,000 points and got $3,000 towards cruise.
I think you mentioned using URs for flights before. If you don’t use them for flights, Chase has a number of Alaska excursions in the portal you can book with URs. We booked a floatplane tour and Mendenhall glacier/whale watching thru the Chase portal. Haven’t gone yet, we cruise end of May, but I’ll report back.

My Dh is 6'2" and didn't have any problems with the showers at Pop.

So the hotel is in the high rise part. The cruise lands downtown. It’s a small island but that’s a 15 Min or so cab ride. But the high rise area had tons of restaurants and bars and shops. You can def grab beer at a convenient store and walk up and down the beach. Super safe and friendly. Playa Linda has happy hour from 12-5 or 6 so we hit there beach bar a lot! There is a pelican bar I think it’s called near the Marriott too. There is a piano bar and a Senor Frogs too. So much to do and ways to save $$. There is a really good smoothie place and bratwurst place on the beach too!!?

Now I wanna go back!!!!

He says they are 100% smaller. He is 6’3

I actually don’t remember him complaining about Pops showers. He basically flooded the bathroom at music one time tho. Idk how he didn’t realize it was getting everywhere lol
My DH is 6’2” but he makes a mess even at home with our extra deep jetted tub. :sad2: Not quite flood stage but water and soap suds 6 feet high inside the tub area for sure. TMI. Lol His usual complaint is with how high the shower head is. He ends up pointing it as high as possible then I get in and it’s over my head.

Two things:
1. The new Star Wars trailer looks REALLY good
2. I am 100% convincing Dh that we need Disney+ for the Original Disney Channel movies alone. I need Brink, Johnny Tsunami, Halloweentown, The Thirteenth Year, Smart House, Motorcrossed, The Luck of the Irish, and all the rest! I just saw Boy Meets World will also be on it so I'll probably be watching that nonstop.

We can’t wait to see the new show and ride the new coaster in June! We’ve seen the other 2 projection shows and they were pretty awesome too!

In the meantime, I am busy making 90 chocolate frogs and boxes and 144 pencil wands...
We have not seen ANY of the projection shows! I think we last went in 2016 & they either weren't doing projection shows yet or we just didn't stay for them.

But, we realized that the Walt Disney World Railroad is closed due to construction & thus we cannot complete the full Disney ride challenge :( Instead of doing a partial challenge, we decided to go to Universal for the day. This is something we normally would not have done because 1-Day 2-Park tickets are insanely expensive at close to $400 for the both of us & I don't feel that's worth it. Instead, we got our tickets for about 13K UR each via the CSR portal. So, now we will have a fun day that we would not have had without churning. & we get to be wizards for a few hours :wizard:

Literally SO excited for all of the above...
