My grandma is the same! She is 91 this year and still lives in her same house. She drives 30 mins into 'town' to volunteer at a hospital two days a week (like 6-8 hour days!). She also hasn't been to a doctor in about 50 years lol. Only went for blood work once about 10 years ago so she could have cataract surgery:laughing: People at the hospital are always asking her who her doctor is and she tells them "the good Lord". She's pretty awesome :D
My grandma’s 93. She volunteers at the hospital gift shop and sells tickets at the town community center. She eats brunch every Sunday at the town’s “fancy” restaurant. She goes out with friends a lot too. I think the reason she’s so healthy is because she forces herself to go out and socialize

I just called Hyatt to ask them to extend my FN certificate. I would like to use it for a positioning flight for Hawaii. The CSR told me that because the FN was issued by Chase they are unable to extend. Does anyone know if this is accurate or should I HUCA? We could use it for our Stay park Fly next week but I would rather not if I have options.

I was looking at that room yesterday actually- cute! It seems like there wasn't very much point variation for some of the rooms we were looking at, so if we can get something like a park view for a little bit extra then I'd be willing to do it. I'm planning on maintaining gold status too so club level won't be necessary for us either.

I also found out a more detailed schedule was released for the Olympics this past week. We're planning to go for the second week and we will be there for the medal events for jumping and eventing! Those are my absolute must-dos. We'll also be there for medals in beach volleyball and some of the gymnastic events. I'd definitely like to get some of the gymnastic tickets. I'm sure beach volleyball would be really hard to get.
We booked the ocean view on purpose. Being able to see the ocean and potentially Mt. Fuji was important to us. They’re also doing a lot of construction for the new lands so theme park view might not be the best unless you plan to be in the room to watch fireworks.

That’s cool that you’re planning on going to the Olympics. We aren’t big into watching the olympics so I don’t know much about them. In our house it’s the Stanley cup.

She will be 91 this year. Born same year as Mickey da Mouse lol! I also think on of the reasons my grandma is still so active is because she's very social and she doesn't just sit inside her house watching tv. She does that when she comes home from the hospital cause that tires her out but on other days, when she isn't at the hospital, she's out and about visiting neighbors, making and taking meals to people who are sick, getting her hair done, checking out Walmart, etc. She stays busy.

I've kept up a little bit with the delayed Chase SUBs recently, but not a lot. Are they starting to catch up and post now? I need another $500 on my CIP MSR before the statement closes on 5/1 and would like to do another payment towards my Disney trip. But I only have about $300 to cash out right now in URs. If the SUB posts when my statement closes, then I'll have enough for the payment, obviously, but otherwise I'm short $200.

I mean, obviously I can just pay that in cash and reimburse myself later. But that's no fun :rotfl:

Seems that way. @Brian4891 reported that P2's CIP met MSR on 4/11, SUB went pending on 4/16, along with folks who have been waiting for their SUBs to go pending since the first few days of April.

So the key to staying alive longer might be socializing? I may be in trouble....lol

I don't even know what sport that is  The only time I ever care about anything sports-related that isn't horseback riding is the Olympics. Then I go full USA chant for two weeks.

But seriously, I've always wanted to go to the Olympics and I've always wanted to go to Japan! I told DH it's a two for one deal. I don't participate in the kind of horseback riding to ever compete there, but I definitely still love the equestrian events and am pretty excited that we'll be experiencing it firsthand.

Someone is using my CIC to pay for their Uber rides:(

Boooooooo

Thanks! Maybe I'll go ahead and do it. Once this SUB and referral points come through, I will officially have enough in URs and GCs to pay off our trip!

That's so weird because I had a friend who happened to be in London when the Olympics were going on and he was able to buy tickets to a couple events! But regardless, yes, we will definitely be buying our tickets in advance!! I need to look up if there are better times to buy certain tickets. I'm sure something like beach volleyball sells out pretty quickly, but I can't imagine something like eventing will sell out super quick. I know sometimes if they're not selling tickets well then they can get discounted as the games get closer.

And yes, horses get transported on cargo planes! Here's a good article on it with a video showing how they're loaded on the planes and travel. Not something I've ever had to do, but definitely happens more than you think. Lots of people import horses from Europe or will fly to Europe to show at some of the biggest shows.

Thanks for the video. Super interesting. Definitely never thought about that before. I seriously just went back to 2012 on my friend's FB timeline to see what she said about the Olympic tickets. lol Of course these friends have literally been all over the world and probably the last people I would ask advice about traveling, so I guess take what she said as not gospel. Maybe there was people outside scalping tickets? They needed 7 so that might be harder to get that way. - These are the closest we got to the olympic's we couldn't buy tickets ANYWHERE! You could only get tickets on the internet and I do mean ONLY! and without a UK billing address on your credit card you couldn't even buy it then, it was totally messed up.

So weird! Yeah this was just one guy by himself. He very well might have just found a scalper. I can't remember what events he went to, but I definitely remember him saying he went to something, because he was joking that it wasn't as interesting as women's beach volleyball, but still fine

Wow, someone on r/churning decided they just won't report their 1099 referral bonuses to the IRS. :sad2:
