MK/Fantasyland “Early Morning Magic” (EMM) FAQ & Discussion

Question:

We are staying at B Resort, what is the fastest way for us to get to MK for EMM. We will have a car. I am confused a little because I read the MK is the only park you cant drive to the front entrance. We want to get there at least by 7:15am. TIA!!
If you drive your car, there's a parking lot at the TTC near the Polynesian. Then you can take a ferry or the monorail over to the front of the park. If you don't feel like driving, you could always have a Lyft take you to Contemporary and walk over from there.

We plan on staying at MK until our Ohana reservation at 3:30pm. Do you think driving to TTC near the Polynesian is the better idea because after dinner, we plan on going back to resort for the day.

You can quickly walk between Poly and the TTC so you would probably want your car to be at that parking lot. You could take the Friendship Boat to Poly as well on your way over to Ohana which is a fun way to get across the lagoon.

The TTC is basically your only parking option. It’s up to you whether you drive or use Uber/Lyft. You’ll get there either way!

I am so confused. So if we wanted to drive to the TTC near the Polynesian Resort, would I just put the Poly address in my google maps?

That's an interesting question I never had to think of. I always just follow Disney resort signs, I figure even if there is a better way as long as it isn't an unusual traffic day the disney signs will get me there almost as fast anyway. I wonder if putting the Magic Kingdom into google maps will take you to the parking lot or the actual MK? Probably the actual MK, which you can't drive to and park. Isn't there a Disney's Transportation and Ticket Center Option in google maps?

You can put in the TTC in Google Maps.

Follow up on my post last week about leaving a message with the CM who contacted me re: my 9/1 cancellation because FP were not showing in my account correctly. She called me back today and confirmed all is good on her end and that there is some sort of technical glitch (shocking, I know) on the user end. Several people notified had called back asking about it and a ticket is open with IT, so hopefully it will get corrected at some point.

Also got an email today confirming the cancellation and the details of the compensation and in that email it does state that my CP meal is being covered by a $100 gift card (we are 2 in my party) that will be sent electronically. That had not been told to me with the initial call, but is consistent with what others have been told since then. Technically, that GC could be used anywhere, but since I was already planning a CP breakfast anyway, I'll stick with the one booked for 9/1 now.

I think you can Google the TTC. But if you head in the general direction of the MK, you’ll see signs for where to park. You can’t miss it.

I wouldn’t Google the Poly because that will take you to the Poly, rather than to the TTC.

4/22/2019 Update - DISers with confirmed Sept 2019 EMM reservations started being contacted by Disney letting them know their Sept EMM date had been cancelled. The first report and subsequent discussion starts here. General speculation is that Disney will be adding pre-9AM MK hours in Sept on account of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opening at DHS 8/29/2019.

I was thinking about booking this for September 8 and just reading this thread and above information. When I go on to MDE for the hours, it shows that there is an EMM time listed as "Paid Event". Are people still able to book this? If so, maybe I should in hopes of being canceled LOL with the extra FP and gift card LOL

I am going with first timers that will be there for only two full days and will be canceling a CG Brunch so I will have the money to put towards this event. Can someone please let me know what I should do.

Thank you.

I just checked this for me too, but it says "No Tables Available" when you try to select the times.

Oh dang! Thank you. Well I guess we will just have to wait and see what is going on, is that correct or is there speculation as to what is being done?

Thanks.

I searched for tickets for Sept 8th every day for a month and it always said it wasn't available. There won't be an opportunity to buy them if all the other dates have been canceled already.

I’m repeating some folks above, but don’t get “parking at the TTC” and “parking at the MK” confused... they are the same thing.

When you park at the MK, you park and then walk (or the tram takes you) to the TTC, which is basically just the area with security, ticket booths, the MK Ferry, and the MK monorail. From there, you need to take the Monorail or MK Ferry to get over to the front entrance of the MK.

You won’t see many (or any) signs for the TTC when driving, you’ll only see signs to MK parking.

It’s not nearly as unclear or stressful as it sounds.

I’d plan on parking my car in the lot at 6:45-7am, or earlier if you are a slow moving group or at all worried about your timing.

Later that day when you’re done at Ohana, just walk over to the TTC and you’ll be back close to your car.

Since you will have arrived with the chickens that day, you will likely be parked reasonably close.

Hope that all makes sense!

Ok friends. I’ve never done any of these add ons. If they don’t extend the after hours into July which morning EMM would you choose DHS or MK? Obviously this is the MK thread but I’m trying to gauge which would be better for me. I’m solo.

You have to go about 3 or 4 pages back in this thread I believe, but the September dates have been cancelled. All guests who booked and then were cancelled were compensated with a generous portion of FPs and a gift card for a restaurant of their choice I believe.
Again, most of us think this was done because of SWGE.

MK! In a heartbeat! However, you are talking to someone who hasn't stepped foot in DHS in 18 years! :faint:

That's strange/interesting the "Special Ticketed Event: 7:45-9" notation is now showing up on several Sept dates. It wasn't like that before. Maybe the people calling everyone to cancel the Sept EMMs should let the park calendar people know what's going on!
