MK/Fantasyland “Early Morning Magic” (EMM) FAQ & Discussion

My reservation for EMM did link to MDE automatically, as did my reservation for Wild Africa Trek. But my reservation for EPCOT Aqua Tour did not link. In each case, I was told when I booked that the reservation would not show up on MDE and I could add them as notes. I can't make heads or tails of how MDE works, when even CMs don't know what will link and what will not link.

If you're feeling anxious, call back on another day, read them your confirmation number and make sure they can find it. That's probably the best you can do for peace of mind. Also, type a note into MDE with all relevant information so that if there is a problem you have all of your information in a single place.

The offer was to use the band as a FP until 10 am- IF the ride came back up. Didn't matter to us, we had to get out of the park as soon as MM was over to check out of our hotel. To be honest, that would not have been acceptable to me even if I could use it. A single ride, during the time I could be riding lesser rides isn't enough.

So that's two EMM's in a row with issues with Mine Train? That's totally unacceptable. They know perfectly well which ride people are paying to go on.

And it's exactly why we won't book this again. The CM was snippy about it- "We don't give refunds just because one ride is down"...she didn't get far with that argument. I wasn't in the mood to put up with snippy, especially when our only FP for 9am was cancelled while I was standing there. She even wanted to know, at 8:15am, if we had eaten breakfast. She was just being a....well, she wasn't being nice. I'll be contacting guest services about it.

Totally agree! I have had to do this for many events in the past, especially DVC events.

EMM is treated as an ADR, so they always show up in MDE. I have no idea why the Wild Africa Trek did show up, does it include food and is it booked under restaurants like EMM and dessert parties are? Nothing else I’ve ever booked has shown up in MDE, like cabanas, haircuts, and spa appts.

Looks like they have increased the reservation pool for June. For example, 6/2 and 6/4 used to be sold out, but now I can select 49 people and be offered a time.

Just tried it and it won't allow me to attempt to book more than 15 before I get the notice to call to reserve larger numbers. For me, it isn't the crowd levels that are the issue. It's that they don't consistently have SDMT up and running.

We went May 7 and with SDMT down, there were waits even at things like Winnie The Pooh. We didn't ride it as I had decided to push for a refund, but to stand in line for that on a MM is just not acceptable. PPF had an even longer wait.

Unfortunately, they don’t seem to think SDMT being operational is all that important. We wouldn’t ever book this again unless they change their policy and make refunds standard procedure in the event of it not running. Let’s be honest, for 99% of those who book this, SDMT is THE reason and they have to know that. Getting a refund was like pulling teeth and left a sour taste in my mouth at the very end of our trip.

Listen, in the end, you have to decide if it's something you want to do for your family. For me, the negative reviews on the breakfast doesn't concern me. My family eats kosher so we wouldn't bother with it. I would still do a fastpass for Mine Train just in case it's down on the day we choose to visit.
I've been reading restaurant reviews on the kosher restaurants we will be dining at and both have more negative reviews than I care to see. However, we don't have much choice unless we want microwaved meals in the parks our whole five days visiting...and we don't. One of the restaurants I've been too, so I'm not too concerned about the negative reviews. We'd probably be taking the food back to the resort anyway, so as far as the service not being top notch, I can avoid that altogether. Things change and staff changes. I know before we went in 2015, the one restaurant had several negative reviews. When we went however, everything was on point! And when we returned the second day, the cooks recognized us and said welcome back! Our portions of food was above and beyond what it was the first time! I know what I'll be spending in relation to what you will be spending doesn't even compare. $79 per person in comparison to $15 or $20 per person is apples and oranges. But in the end, WE have to decide what to do despite the negative reviews we read. GOOD LUCK!

I’m not worried about the breakfast. We aren’t that picky. I’m more concerned with all the reports of 7dmt being down. I’m definitely planning to keep my reservation and hoping for the best.

Cabana reservations (and maybe other things?) have started showing up on MDE. I just noticed yesterday. I don’t see it on the app, but it does appear when I’m logged into MDE on my web browser.

Back on topic, I have to choose our EMM for July. Has anyone noticed the weekend one being more crowded? I cannot remember which day of the week we attended in Sept...

Were they giving fast passes for SDMT for the rest of the morning? If it came back up...

We went on Tuesday the 7th, and I understand a previous poster had travel commitments, but they did allow guests with EMM fastpass access to 7DMT until 2 o'clock, which did satisfy my family. The kids were really disappointed when it wasn't open, but totally loved going through the FP line continuously when we were able to get back over to it.

When we asked what they were doing about it, we were told you could use the wristband as a one time FP up until 10 am, IF it came back up. This was just as the MM was starting, so perhaps they changed it. This was a CM at the ride, I didn't question it at guest services as it really didn't matter at that point to us.

Because I'm neurotic and the kids were so sad, I checked back multiple times with Guest Services and the CMs in the area and the timing kept changing as the day went on and the ride was down for longer than expected. It was first 10, then noon, then two. Sorry it didn't work out for your fam.

You SHOULD be fine if you are waiting by Cosmic Ray's at 8:50-8:55. Just be ready to move at a nice pace towards Space. I'd suggest staying to your left as the rope drop crowd coming down the path on the right that includes Stitch and Monsters Inc will be heading towards you like a pack of zombies that just found a fresh human to eat. We did Buzz 2x beacuse my son wasn't interested in Space.

We did Buzz 2x beacuse my son wasn't interested in Space.
